@Babymamma192 is this your first? I was told by the consultant that if it's your second, or after, baby the measurements can be really inaccurate because your tummy and uterus has already stretched. If you're worried then it may be worth just mentioning it because lockdown or no lockdown, you shouldn't be sat worrying ❤️

@sao81oh my goodness that's such exciting news! You have been saying you've been feeling unwell so maybe baby will be here soon 😬😀

So I've got to got to the emergency dentist tomorrow and potentially have a back "problem tooth" taken out. I'm absolutely gutted! I am so frightened of the thought of going in, but I have been assured it's a shielded/vulnerable person clinic only and the patients with symptoms aren't allowed to go there. I'm SO nervous going to the dentist anyway, I take my mum and still cry every time 🙈 but this time I'll have to go solo! Can't wait for it to be over 😩 The thought of full blown tooth ache during labour or with a new born frightens me more though to be honest!!

woollycat · 22/04/2020 18:49

Went to my 36w appointment - baby is head down and all well! They sent me for a scan as the bump was measuring a bit small but scan confirmed she is 75th centile. Also got my birth centre referral. Time to relax 😍

123Pandy · 22/04/2020 18:53

@woollycat so glad you got your birth centre referral!
My little one is semi head down...kind of diagonal but midwife thinks as long as I keep walking he should behave and straighten up.

@november90 don't worry 😊 all emergency dental centres are only running with high elevation of PPE so you will be perfectly safe. And think of how much better you will feel once the tooth is out!..no more pain ☺️

november90 · 22/04/2020 20:20

Thank you so much @123Pandy I've been really worried about it! My dental practise is closed so the emergency dentist number have sent me to another, but I suppose that must be how they are triaging people. I'm so relieved as the regular emergency dentist is in the same building where they are doing our Coronavirus testing 😬

facevalue · 23/04/2020 00:10

i think i'm ready to have this baby. sitting in quarantine with a toddler and being so uncomfortable with no ckeaner no family no childcare is the worst. just getting the baby out means i can't heal and start to be able to move / walk etc and can drink alcohol again lol

Saoirse7 · 23/04/2020 05:00

I don't know if I'll be able to breastfeed due to surgery in the past so I'm preparing to bottle feed. Will I need a breast pump - even just a hand one at the start just incase there is any flow?

It's getting so close now Shock

Lu1u · 23/04/2020 06:37

@facevalue with you on that one! Trying to keep up with my 20 month old is becoming impossible, especially the getting up off of the floor after playing which is very undignified now and I even grunt haha. I have a bottle of fizz in the fridge on stand by, I can't wait! What is going to be your first proper drink?

Lu1u · 23/04/2020 06:40

Slept so badly last night because I was stressing about double prams. I wanted to get one second hand and had been looking for ages before lockdown but they kept getting snapped up hours after being advertised so just accepted defeat and thought I would buy a new one. Apart from lockdown started and they were all on bloody pre order or out of stock when they hadn't been before!

Finally found one early this morning and bought it, so hopefully that's one less thing to worry about and I can rest a bit today! Has anyone else not got their pram/travel system yet?

sao81 · 23/04/2020 07:14

@november90 I hope so, i feel like I've got a balloon in my moo that cant be popped its such a weird feeling! I'm ready for this baby now haha. Good luck with the dentist!

@facevalue same here! I would just love a glass of gin to see me through 😭

@Saoirse7 if you aren't going to breastfeed then they say don't stimulate or express, otherwise your milk wont dry up. Best thing to do is keep your boobs strapped up try not to touch them and have cold cabbage leaves in your bra! If you do want to start you could get a pump, Ive also saw these little nipple shields you can buy that collect any leaking milk, you just suck it up with a syringe and store them for baby!

@Lu1u glad you finally got one sorted! We've had ours a while but I could do with a buggy board for my little girl for if she wants a rest and we are walking anywhere

OP posts:
facevalue · 23/04/2020 07:22

@Saoirse7 do not pump. that will activate your boob to make more milk. just accept the pain and discomfort and it will stop the milk. sorry x

@Lu1u you poor thing. sleep has been a very desirable thing but with a toddler you are just knackered all the time. we have a bugaboo donkey ( which opens to become a double pram) but we did not buy a second seat. instead we got the buggy board ( my DD is 3 in august) so thought we will probably be ok as she ( if lockdown ever ends) be in nursery/ pre school so she should cope with little walks and sit/ stand behind the baby. shopping for baby has been non rewarding. i literally washed all my old DD clothes and prepared those and in one day went to boots and next abd bought 4 outfits and vests, creams, changing mat, nappies etc all in one quick shop a day before lockdown. a couple of friends sent us gifts - saying cos no babyshower they just wanted to give something to mark the occasion. we initially didn't find out the sex. but because of the corona situation i accepted to find out just to prepare and incase anything happened - i wanted to know what sex my baby was🙄 ITS A GIRL - that's what i wanted and glad cos we have all the girls clothes already. we purchased a fresh play gym and rocker chair - just for fun but we have all the things from my DD there was no point to go mental during these harsh times.

Can you contact your local ( help group) or NCT nearly new type of thing and simply buy things that way.

i have had a small drink per week for the last 3 weeks because of covid19 - my usual drink in gin, Prosecco and red wine- but i really fancy aperol spritz ( italian drink) with lots of orange and ice. i hate sweet drinks so anything dry will do too.

facevalue · 23/04/2020 07:25

@sao81 just have a drink mate. one unit won't harm anyone in these difficult times! we literally tested the buggy board yesterday and DD loves it. i recommend x

sao81 · 23/04/2020 07:41

@facevalue I don't think id stop if I had one now 😂😂

GinUnicorn · 23/04/2020 08:33

I’d love a gin! Or aperol but I think it might just make me want more.

Heartburn and restless leg syndrome driving me nuts right now!

GinUnicorn · 23/04/2020 08:33

@sao81 I feel the same!!

sao81 · 23/04/2020 08:48

@facevalue @ginunicorn also, what is this aperol spritz?! It sounds amazing!

Thanks for your replies yesterday girls...i phoned the hospital and I'm having a scan this afternoon 👍😊 hope she is head down but if not at least I'll know!

@Lu1u I need a double pram my daughter will only be 15 months when the baby's born but I just don't know which one to get! I was gonna get a second hand one but just not sure what brand etc which one have you bought?
Anyone got any recommendations? xx

Babymamma192 · 23/04/2020 11:12

I also second the drink thing 😂 I bought the new Gordon's peach gin the other day now its sat in the wine rack teasing me 😂 can't wait to have a glass!

november90 · 23/04/2020 11:45

I don't so much crave alcohol as I've not really been a drinker since I had my first son, but I am craving a nice afternoon in the sun drinking and getting drunk like the good old days! Times like this I really miss who my ex husband used to be and when we were together! 💔

Lu1u · 23/04/2020 11:49

@facevalue the bugaboo donkey looks great, if I had known I would of been having another baby quite so soon I would of invested in one back then! At the time I would of :0 at the price but now I have pretty much spent that amount on a single and now a double. Hoping I can sell one on in the future to recoup some of the cost. Also how exciting to find out you are having another girl, congratulations!

@babymamma192 it's so hard isn't it! Also the prices terrify me 😣 I have bought the out n about double nipper, with a carrycot so the baby can go in that and then toddler in a proper seat but it does say a newborn can go in the main seat too as it's lie flat (I just like the option of a carrycot!) Its not particularly pretty but we live rurally so I needed a pram that could cope with off roading. My friend who also had 2 under 2 recommended the Joie evalite duo which is one seat Infront of the other rather than side by side, she loved it but I didn't think it would cope with all the mud and tracks we walk up and down! If budget was no option I would of gone for a bugaboo donkey or a mountain buggy duet I think though 😂 which ones have you looked at?

facevalue · 23/04/2020 12:32

@Lu1u i knew we wanted another kid quick ( cos i was 38!) but also the side basket and it's a countryside and city buggy. i don't recommend it if you have no space at home or regularly have to pack it into a car x

Babymamma192 · 23/04/2020 12:34

@Lu1u Oh yeh I saw someone with the out and about double nipper when I was on a day out a few months ago and I liked it because of the carry cot option!

I like the uppababy vista double and the cosatto wow XL but it's hard to choose with out seeing them properly and they're expensive as well!
Plus the pram I have for my daughter is so good very comfy and it's got great suspension as well so it's such a shame that I won't be able to use it much longer!

Babymamma192 · 23/04/2020 13:04

The baby is head down and engaged 🥳🎉 such a relief! Just have to wait for her to make her appearance 😂

AlmostAlwyn · 23/04/2020 13:19

@Saoirse7 do you mean you'd like to breastfeed, but you're not sure if you'll be able to? I would wait with the breast pump and see how it goes with feeding. Nothing compares to a baby for stimulating milk production Smile

Had a lightning quick appointment today. Pretty much just checked baby is still head down (plus urine and blood pressure) and that was it! Back in next week...

Anyone got any experience with more lightweight wrap carriers? I have a Moby but the thick cotton got a bit hot in summer. Looking at the Moby Evolution or the Ergobaby Aura. Anyone have either of those or can recommend another?

sao81 · 23/04/2020 15:15

@Babymamma192 aaah what a relief!! Not long now to go🤞

@facevalue ive only just read the part about you having a girl! Congratulations💕💕
