Lovely dress Scorpio! When your baby get's older you can show them how they took part in your wedding

lemonaid · 05/09/2007 15:43

Hello everyone!

Congratulations, scorpio! Nice dress... [eyes up the turquoise version]

V1KK1M, when pregnant with DS I started going to the chiropractor regularly (DH already went and I knew it had made a huge difference to his back). It really helped to sort out all my back niggles, and with the postpartum recovery as well. I still go every 2-3 months just to keep ticking over so I imagine I'll step up the frequency as I get more pregnant and put more strain on my back.

Am 9+5 today. Two weeks to my midwife booking appointment and just under three to my nuchal scan...

Peachy · 05/09/2007 16:51

Scorpio, that dress is lovely congrats

DS1 was 3 montsh when we married, have a lovely portrait shot of him with us , best pic we got

MrsThreads · 05/09/2007 16:51

Congratulations Scorpio and that a totally gorgeous dress.

EllieG · 05/09/2007 17:25

Gorgeous dress scorpio!

lorisparkle · 05/09/2007 19:45

Wow scorpio1 what a dress - you will look fabulous!

First day back at work after the holidays so I told them. Interesting reactions - mostly shock then congratulations!

Some good news for everyone - i read in a magazine (so it must be true) that mothers who ate chocoate everyday through their pregnancy had happier babies! I took this to heart and my DS1 is the smiliest baby around (and that is not just me saying it - he does smile pretty much all day!)

We are all recovering from a cold, cough and sore throat at my house - although DH has it now so man flu it is!

Take care everyone

KnitterInTheNW · 05/09/2007 21:29

I had my scan today, everything's where it's meant to be, and we saw a madly fluttering heartbeat and it wriggled and everything! Haven't stopped grinning since. Measured baby as 23mm and put me at 8+6, I worked it out as being 9+1. A couple of days won't make any difference! The scary thing is that when I told my mum, she said that I was due on April 10th which is what it would be if I'm 8+6!!!

lemonaid · 05/09/2007 22:15

lori -- I posted a link on the last April 2008 thread to the proper academic paper on the chocolate thing. So it is real science and everything...

mirry · 06/09/2007 09:10

Morning all!

Hope everyone's having a good day...

I was on the previous thread (EDD 20 April), but have been on holiday for a couple of weeks, but it's good to be back - even though I now don't seem to fit into any non-holiday loose type trousers (suspect this may be due to consuming own body weight in croissants and cheese rather than the pregnancy) .

I've got my 8 (ish) week scan at 4 pm today, am really excited but also really scared - have managed to convince myself that there won't be anything there, and that it's all in my head (not helped by horrid dreams all last night). So fingers crossed..

loving the research about chocolate!

loisstella · 06/09/2007 09:27

DAFTMO - your story made my day.

On the back ache issue - I don't have any, however, my midwife gave me the detials of the chiropractor in the hospital yesterday and she recommended I get in touch with them ASAP as it will help me.
She reckons all pregnant women go through it and the sooner you get some exercises and massages the better!

Have any of you started having crazy dreams?
I wake up in sweats and panicks, going to the loo (for the 7th time) in the middle of the night and then freaking out about cramps in my tummie.... weird stuff.

I've discovered one side-effect that I am loving though... my nails! Wow - they are growing and not breaking. brilliant!

Soph73 · 06/09/2007 10:09

Morning all Loisstella - I know what you mean about nails & with me my hair & skin look fab (boast, boast )
Am really pleased about chocolate, I knew there was a reason why ds is a happy bunny!
lorisparkle - don you just love man flu, my hubby gets it too

Mollyfloss · 06/09/2007 10:15

Hi everyone,

I was on the other thread but have been away for a while. I'm doing my best to catch up on all the news. I was in Spain for a few days with family and then my mother visited me here. I have told close family and it is great to be around them especially as I have been having a lot of ms and been sleeping all the time! Company that knows you're pregnant is great but seeing friends who don't know can be a little awkward and I really don't want to tell anyone else until after my week 12 scan. Speaking is scans, I had a scan last week and all was good so hopefully it will continue that way. My due date is now April 13th. Today I am 8+5. My Mum came with me as my DH was in work and we even heard the heartbeat! That was really nice. The doctor said that normally the baby's heartbeat goes faster than the mothers but mine was going just as fast at that time as I was so nervous. (It was in the exact same room where I found out the last time that I miscarried so I guess it was normal to be nervous). Right I'll get back to readying everyone's latest news or maybe I'll have a nap first zzzzzzzzz.........

loisstella · 06/09/2007 10:34

Soph...you got good skin!!!! I have pimples like a 15 year old!!!!

Soph73 · 06/09/2007 10:47

loisstella - I know, amazing isn´t it. It was the same when I was pg with ds, I´ve never looked so good! However, I have to admit that I get spots on my legs (always been a weirdo ) so have to wear trousers throughout pg!!
Hi Mollyfloss - could do with a nap myself

EllieG · 06/09/2007 11:02

I have been stuffing chocolate in the name of science and the good of my unborn ever since I read lemonaid's post. I think of it as being like the folic acid, only much more pleasurable.
I did have lovely hair and skin and nails but over the last few days my face has errupted and now I look like a pizza

sagitta · 06/09/2007 11:12

Hi,

Can I join in? Just found out I'm pregnant (dd April 27th). It was an accident, and I'm finding it hard to cope with. Not pleased at all, but trying to look on the bright side. Hoping that by reading all your happy comments some of it might brush off on me.
I've just moved so I can't get a doctors appointment for another two weeks. Is there anything I should know?
Tired, but otherwise don't feet at all pregnant.

MrsThreads · 06/09/2007 12:11

Welcome to the board Sagitta. Sorry to hear you aren't happy with being pregnant but by the time we have finished with you, you will be more excited than us .

Re spots, i have a couple clearing on my face but they are coming up in really random places. My nails are trying to grow but I need a good manicure because my cuticles are in a shocking state.

Had a worrying couple of days as got thrush (sorry tmi) and in turn has been causing lots of coloured discharge. I got in a real state yesterday and was finally calmed by the midwife. Hormones!! Aren't they lovely?

Right off to do some work seeing as I only got into work an hour ago.

Nat xx 8+6

Daftmoo · 06/09/2007 12:13

I'm covered in spots too - big 'orrible ones, I feel 14 again....except this time I have ginormous boobs

As for weird dreams, last night I dreamed I was on holiday with Max and Tanya from Eastenders (shame bradley wasnt there, I like the ruddy cheek look ) and whilst we were having dinner my two back teeth fell out...yup, I'm nuts !

I really appreciate all you guys being here you know, we still havent told family that I'm expecting....so it's so fab to come here and let it all out.

Kel01 · 06/09/2007 12:20
