munchkin and positive - that's great that you got the wonderful image on the screen you were looking for! Nice one! Welcome to the list!
Thanks to all you ladies who gave me advice re constipation. I went to the doc about it yesterday morning and said that I had been having these pains all week, with them being soooo bad on Wed night that I thought I was having a miscarriage, and was it my bowels? She didn't think it was, so she wanted me to go to the hosp to get it checked out in order to exclude an eptopic. Part of me was thinking "yes, I am getting a scan a week early" and the other (bigger) part was thinking "oh no, how scary." So anyway, DH and I met up the hosp and we had a scan. Everything is fine, so we are very happy indeed and have now told everyone that we are expecting. It is sooooooooo amazing to see the buba moving about - we could see its little mouth opening and closing - wow!
I had a very full bladder when they first started to scan me and they couldn't see anything apart from my bladder as a result, so I had to go to the loo and empty my bladder. It was a very nerve-wracking moment as both DH and I thought that there wasn't going to be a baby on the screen at all. However, after I was 'wee-less', they could see the baby no problem and so they then turned the screen round for us to see the wonderful sight. So for those of you who are getting a scan (mine was internal) a piece of advice is to do a wee first so that your bladder doesn't obscure the view!!
The bonus about yesterday is that we are still getting our originally planned scan, which is on Fri 12th, so we can't wait to see the baby again in about a week's time.

That's lovely news about the scans. I'm sort of looking forward to my nuchal on Monday (I mean I can't wait, but I'm slightly nervous too). I just want to see that all is well so far so that I can go public with the pregnancy and start wearing some maternity clothes, rather than squeezing into normal clothes!

dolly1 · 06/10/2007 18:55

Hi Ladies
just a quickie to say the first results from my CVS came back all clear! Over the moon. Have to wait for the full report for another 10 days or so but the doc is very confident and the risk of downs, edwards and another one that begins with a 'p' that I can't remember, have all been ruled out.
And I'm having a little boy! Always thought it would be. Thrilled to bits. Told the world now.
Had a huge shopping spree today to celebrate. Too embaressed to tell you how much I spent! Still at least I'll look nice so it's worth it.
Good luck to those with scans still to come. And for anyone thinking of CVS, I would recommend it.

x

loisstella · 07/10/2007 16:24

Dolly - you could see the sex already!?
Wow - how exciting!

I have 12 week tests and scans tomorrow (allthough only 11+3 then).
Extremely excited and my nerves seem to have come down significantly - just in a happy excited mood which I am extremely grateful for...
Do keep your fingers crossed for me at 8:30 tomorrow though just to make sure all is okay.

LoRayningNewtsAndFrogs · 07/10/2007 16:44

Denny185 · 07/10/2007 17:03

Hi, been watching for a couple of weeks can now add name, had scan last tue, exactly 13/40, due 8/4/08. Everything appeared to be well head, body, arms legs etc - v relieved as this one not planned and no folic acid to start with.

WindUpBird · 07/10/2007 17:57

Ellieg - thanks for the good luck!
Loistella - good luck tomorrow, let us know how you get on.
Dolly1 - so pleased you got excellent results, and knowing it's a boy must make it all seem very real.
I'm so glad it's finally almost Monday. My scan's at 10, so hopefully I'll be on later on with good news!

chipmonkey · 07/10/2007 18:15

Morning all! DS had brill party yesterday & our house now looks like a Lego warehouse. However, it´s a damn site easier to put together than Ikea furniture I can tell you

Soph73 · 08/10/2007 11:33

LSM - what a bummer {{hands over a piece of DS's b'day cake}} I hate it when things like that happen.

LoRayningNewtsAndFrogs · 08/10/2007 12:07

I just pinched this off one of the TTC threads and thought we could give it a test! Maybe put it's predictions on the list and see how many it gets right???

chinese gender predictor

So far both mine were spot on the sex predicted

It claims I should be having a boy this time.

ladylush · 08/10/2007 12:21

Hi Scorpio had a peek at your dress - beautiful. Make sure you link some pics from the wedding in Jan. Pasties on the menu? Glad all going well with the pregnancy and bump growing

dolly1 · 08/10/2007 12:27

Thanks ladies. Still hasn't sunk in that I'm having a little boy! Can't quite believe it.
For those who are wondering how I knew so early, with CVS they take a sample of the placenta so they can get an exact result on the sex by looking at the cells - or something like that. Not sure exactly how it works but supposedly it's 100% accurate for boys but 99% for girls cause there is a tiny chance they could be looking at the mum's cells by mistake, hence the female result. So I can safely say it's a little boy.
Good luck to all those with scans to come.
We have first appointment with midwife tonight so really looking forward to hearing the heart beat again with the doppler.

LoRayningNewtsAndFrogs · 08/10/2007 12:35

Dolly, does the chinese chart say you should be having a boy????

dolly1 · 08/10/2007 12:42

No it says a girl! Sorry! Still only eight or so weeks till everyone will be able to find out at their 20w scans.
I must say it is really nice knowing cause you start to picture yourself with your son or daughter. My DH has been talking about fishing trips and camping expeditions - and I keep saying let's just get him out first!

LoRayningNewtsAndFrogs · 08/10/2007 12:56

Oh well!
Is this your first dolly?? I found out the sex with ym first but not with my second, and I won't find out this time either. I know what you mean about knowing whats coming though.

Who else is planning on finding out??

EllieG · 08/10/2007 13:08

Hi all and welcome denny
I want to find out mine, though DP isn't so keen but says he doesn't mind. Have had two different results on chinese predictor things so not sure they're entirely accurate - unless LO is a hermaphrodite of course, but I hope not.

Just counting down now to my scan tomorrow - sooooo nervous
