Ugh yes I am 38 weeks tomorrow and sooo ready!!

I’m having awful migraines too and I think my nose has swelled up - my sinuses feel so blocked (I am recovering from a
Cold but it just serves to make me feel even less attractive than I do already!) can’t put my shoes on, can’t get my toddler dressed - this morning I actually almost cried trying to get her dressed as she just would not lie still or stand still I was just crawling around after her basically begging her to let me dress her 😩🙈 it’s impossible to do anything!!

I also feel queasy, I know I need to eat but when I do it just doesn’t go down well :( I just want to hibernate now until baby comes!!

Let’s hope we all aren’t waiting too much longer!!

Dweebette · 22/01/2020 16:07

Thanks everyone. Scan was great, baby is not breech, perfect position actually and is measuring a healthy 5lbs 12 at 34+5 so it was just playing tricks with the midwife, giving us all a fright. I feel so much better now, I felt very out of control for a while there and just didn't want to have to give up my hopes for a natural birth so soon! I'm definitely not ready for bubs to make an appearance though, I'm too attached to my bump. But as soon as I hit 37 weeks I'll get bouncing on my yoga ball trying to bring on natural labour so I don't go overdue 😂 just going to enjoy the next 2 weeks first though.

Grin this did make me laugh. Amazing the power a toddler can have over us!

cornishmama93 · 22/01/2020 17:53

Hi guys,

I'm 38 weeks and 4 days today (due 1st feb) feeling so uncomfortable and ready for baby to be here now.
This is my second baby and this pregnancy has been so much harder than my first!
Got a nearly 4 year old already who is super excited to meet her brother.
I'm getting constant backache and cramps but nothing seems so be happening constant enough 😭😭😭

45andfine · 23/01/2020 10:30

38 weeks today! And washing machine leaking 🙄.

Really don't need the hassle of trying to sort it out.

Great news about your scan @dweebette hopefully it's too big to turn now and everything will progress naturally.

hazandduck · 23/01/2020 11:19

🤣 I know @LolaLollypop it’s ridiculous isn’t it!! There is literally no position I feel comfortable in right now. 38 weeks today. Come on out please baby!

Glad all was good at your scan @Dweebette!

@cornishmama93 I completely agree with you, this second pregnancy has almost broken me 🙈 I just feel so exhausted I don’t know how I’m going to look after a newborn and toddler!!

LolaLollypop · 23/01/2020 11:24

Second time mamas.... anyone else feeling really nervous about labour?! I'm sure I'm more anxious this time around now I know what's coming!!

cornishmama93 · 23/01/2020 12:34

@LolaLollypop I feel better this time round as I've been using the positive birth company for hypnobirthing and I'm planning a water birth so I'm pretty excited for it if I'm honest!

hazandduck · 23/01/2020 16:34

Yep I’m a million times more nervous @LolaLollypop it’s horrible. I was so chilled first time round and not scared at all!

I’m using the positive birth company digital pack I just find the woman doing the videos really grating, she sounds like she needs a glass of water! My hormones make me in to such a moody cow 😂

Ginny1234 · 23/01/2020 16:37

Got my induction booked in for Feb 3rd so only 9 1/2 days to go. Finished work today as well so looking forward to sleeping whenever I want!

I can't get comfortable in any position either - tried a bath last night and was out after about 3 minutes because even that wasn't nice.

Not been sick for 24 hours though so looking on the bright side!

Just looking at knitting patterns to keep me occupied for the next 9 1/2 days - what do you reckon, bear or giraffe?

Giraffe!

Crochet keeping me sane! 6 days into maternity leave and just so fed up not having the energy to do more!

Ginny1234 · 23/01/2020 17:10

@45andfine I'm the same energy wise, also no good at relaxing so hopefully knitting will keep me sane too :)

What have you made so far??

Quirkyquichie · 23/01/2020 22:09

i like them both Ginny they're super cute!
Totally agree with the tired and breathlessness. Took my eldest for an appointment, up two flights of stairs the room was, i had to sit on the landing to recover before going in. One member of staff wanted to come past, i just shuffled to the side apologetically. I just didn't have the energy to move.
36wks today, i think ive done well to keep moving this long. This pregnancy has probably been the same as my first energy wise. The 2nd hit me the hardest of all 4, where i lost all my get up and go from 20odd weeks.

Great news on the scan dweebette, that weight sounds really good for the weeks. Ive read they put about half a pound a week on in the last bit.

hazandduck · 24/01/2020 00:10

I’m finding going any where and doing things with my DD so hard atm @Quirkyquichie I can’t walk! Let alone chase after her! Putting on her shoes is hell 🙈😂 I basically give a boost up and then it’s up to her to clamber in her car seat! My mummy friends keep inviting me along to things but honestly the idea of going to soft play would tip me over the edge. Well done for making it up those stairs 😬

@Ginny1234 glad you’re feeling better. Maybe something you ate didn’t agree with you (or baby!) I’m going to mix things up and vote for Ted, I love his yellow jumper!

doublebarrellednurse · 24/01/2020 06:14

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who is shattered!

I start my mat leave at 38w (feb14) and am counting down the weeks. We are so so busy. My mat cover quit and I have some challenging clients right now 😫 we are hoping to book someone very soon but nurses don't grow on trees 🌳

The girls I look after are defo plotting something though which is very cute.

Dweebette · 24/01/2020 06:31

Thanks everyone, I feel like I've got a new lease of life after the scan, just a little bit of reassurance to keep me going 😊

Love the thought of crochet but I never learned how! I'm doing a lot of yoga to help with relaxation but still have a few weeks of work to get through. @Ginny1234 I'm team giraffe 🦒

hazandduck · 24/01/2020 10:37

I really stressed myself out about my maternity cover when I had my DD @doublebarrellednurse. They didn’t bother getting anyone in until DD was about a month old. This time round I’ve just let it wash over me (I’m local govt) and I think well I’ve done what I need to, told them I’m pregnant, the rest is up to them! Don’t stress about it! It’s not your fault. I spent the last weeks of my pregnancy with DD literally crying and panicking about the rest of my team and it was pointless now looking back! Hope you are ok. X

hazandduck · 24/01/2020 10:40

DD has been cuddling bump this morning whilst we watch Tangled! Making me feel a little less guilty about keeping her cooped up today. I’ve taken her out every day this week but I just can’t face it! Anyone else’s bump as ridiculously huge as mine!! Midwife said my stomach muscles have totally separated 🤢

BFP - Anyone else feb 2020? Continued 2
cliare · 24/01/2020 11:18

Glad I'm not the only one feeling done by 38 weeks! Feel out of breath and huge. It's so unfair that not even maternity clothes seem to fit anymore! The thought of taking my little boy outside feels like an epic task!

lovesT · 24/01/2020 16:17

It's good to see everyone is doing well, apart from being uncomfortable and breathless 😩 I'm 37 weeks today and since I can go to the birth centre from 37 weeks I'm happy for baby to come whenever now 😅 my tummy feels so tight, heavy and horribly itchy. I have two more weeks left of work which I'm a bit sad about as I love my job but also excited because I want baby here 😊 husband is getting impatient to meet her too 😄🥰

I have two assignments including a French one due in next week (open university) so as long as I get them sent off I think I'm ready 👍 so much happening!

Has anyone been told baby's head in engaged? I'm hoping at my appointment next week she will say head is engaged as baby had dropped down last time so we'll see.

Happy late pregnancy thoughts to everyone 😄👍🤰

45andfine · 24/01/2020 16:23

Eldest childs 17th birthday this week. Suddenly I feel even older and even more tired!!

Only crocheting blankets, my concentration levels are minimal 🙄

LolaLollypop · 24/01/2020 18:29

Just clocked off my last day at work for a year! Yippee! Actually managed to get everything done I wanted too which was great. Now time to relax and get everything sorted for baby no2.

My bump feels a bit different today, like baby has moved elsewhere. I'm not getting as many kicks in the ribs but I can still feel bubs moving in there.

Hoping for at least 2 weeks of chilling before the big day!

hazandduck · 24/01/2020 21:15

I don’t know if they said engaged, they said it was way down which is why it feels like I need a wee and when I go I can’t! So frustrating. Earlier I thought my waters were going - my mum was over and I told her and she put it in the family WhatsApp 🤣 and then I realised after I think I just pissed myself a little bit 😬🤣 I hate this waiting for it to start stage. It’s nerve wracking!!

@lovesT I had the itchy tum with my DD it turned in to angry purple stretch marks but they faded very quick! Not had itching this time but I think it’s because everything has stretched before! I have got the purple lines back - greeaaat! 👍

Dweebette · 25/01/2020 08:37

@hazandduck that did make me laugh 😂

35+1 today and bub's little butt is wedged right in my side, it's less than pleasant. DH put his hand on my stomach this morning and got a swift kick as it to say "get off me dad!" lol. I don't know if baby is engaged yet but I constantly feel like I have to pee and then I'm lucky if a few drips come out, it's exhausting!

lovesT · 25/01/2020 09:18

@hazandduck haha oh no! This might be TMI but when I really need a wee (and now at random points in the day) I get a bit of discharge which sometimes makes me think it that my waters?! I know that's supposed to increase throughout pregnancy so it makes sense but I'm assuming it will feel similar just more?! I get a bit excited by any twinge or ache at the moment haha, I'm so ready.

I also have some purply stretch marks which have literally appeared in the last week or so 🙁 I felt quite sad about them but actually they're not that bad and I managed this far without them. Good to know that yours faded! I'm sure they will fade once my poor skin can go back to 'normal'.

Anyone else been looking up natural ways to induce labour?! 😂 I find myself googling when I feel a bit fed up with being so heavy an uncomfortable haha x
