Naturally things now seem to be trailing off, so frustrating but will try not to get disheartened! Going to have a little rest and then try going for a walk this afternoon if things haven't picked up again.

I know it sounds crazy but walking up and down the stairs in side steps is meant to help, I did this when I was in labour (to go for a wee!) and started transitioning as soon as I got downstairs, within an hour Cleo was born! Fingers crossed it gets going quickly, keep sipping water or something sugary if you can for energy ❤️

Dweebette · 05/03/2020 00:02

Well it all got a bit crazy on Monday and my total denial that I was really in labour resulted in arriving at the hospital 9cm dilated at around 5pm! We welcomed our perfect baby girl at 22.44. My body is in tatters but I honestly could not be happier, would do it all again in a heartbeat for her.

lovesT · 05/03/2020 03:44

@Dweebette wow amazing, congratulations!! Our bodies are amazing at healing so wishing you a quick recovery and hope you start to feel comfortable soon. Enjoy cuddles with your little girl ❤️ I'm currently up feeding mine, it's tiring but she's worth it! X

Dweebette · 05/03/2020 06:18

@lovesT thank you. I'm feeding now after DH took her for a few hours overnight to try and let me rest (I hadn't slept since Sunday). The after pains are unbelievable, honestly feels like early labour again 😭

sulkysukey · 05/03/2020 07:33

Congratulations @Dweebette ! Those first few days of feeding are so intense - I remember the midwife saying they should be feeding at least every 3 hours when she was feeding literally every half hour! But once the milk's in they are able to get more and last a little longer... although I fed DD constantly yesterday - maybe a 1 month growth spurt??

DH and I had 3 hours sleep at the same time last night after she decided to sleep for a 4 hour stretch in her crib. Really hope it's not a one-off... she refused to go back in it all night. But small mercies eh!

LolaLollypop · 07/03/2020 14:35

Hi Feb mums. I've joined a newborn support thread on here - Let me know if anyone else what to join and I'll tag you!

hazandduck · 07/03/2020 16:12

Congratulations @Dweebette that’s lovely news!! Thought you’d gone quiet haha another quick labour! Hope you are settling in to it all ok.

I went out for some brunch today for a couple of hours with my sister - first time since having Cleo that I’ve had any time to myself! And I missed her and older DD madly 😂 boobs aching the whole time.

@LolaLollypop ooh yes please I’m up for a newborn thread!

Hope everyone is well :) Does anyone else get majorly touched out after a while. I said to DH yesterday I literally don’t have five minutes from the minute I wake up to the minute I go to sleep that someone isn’t touching me or asking me for something. It’s crazy x

LolaLollypop · 07/03/2020 16:36

@hazandduck I'll tag you in it!

How are you finding managing a toddler and a newborn? My toddler has been really pushing my buttons lately. I'm tired so keep snapping at her and I feel bad for it. I know she's only 2 but sometimes she won't do anything I ask her and in the struggle she'll bang my sore boobs or something (I know she doesn't mean to). I'd love to be able to spend some more time just me and her but with O on the boob 24/7 it's so difficult!

tinatsarina · 07/03/2020 17:14

Can I be added To the newborn thread? My lg is constantly feeding so I don't have much time for anything and I feel bad for my five year old. My partner is back to work on Monday so school run is all on me and I'm panicking cuz I know she'll want a feed just as we're heading out the door

lovesT · 07/03/2020 18:17

@LolaLollypop yes please 😊 it would be great to be added to that thread.

Are there anymore babies yet to come on this one?

cliare · 08/03/2020 07:47

Can you add me @LolaLollypop?

LolaLollypop · 08/03/2020 13:27

Done! @cliare

Dweebette · 08/03/2020 22:36

@LolaLollypop can you please add me to the newborn support thread?

Have had an intense few days. Baby girl has dropped a lot of weight so we ended up back at the hospital yesterday for tests. She's fine but slightly dehydrated so it seems she's not getting enough milk. My milk hasn't fully come in yet, though it seems there's a bit more today but haven't had that "Pamela Anderson" experience I was told to expect. Another weigh in tomorrow and I'm so nervous, really need her to have gained as I really don't want to have to resort to formula, though obviously I'll do whatever is necessary to fatten her up!

Ho everyone. Sorry for the delay have been crazy busy !!
Sooooo.... our gorgeous little boy (we didnt know the sex before birth) came on 29th Feb. We had our leap year baby after being due 28th my husband had said since 1st scan he would come then.
The 1st 3 nights at home with cluster feeding was hard but he is doing amazing now. Weve managed to get out the house the past few days too. Even if just for walk with the pram, it does us all good.
Hope your all well. Please can I be added to the new group too xx

Dweebette · 10/03/2020 00:45

@soda123x congratulations! You're doing well to be out and about already, I feel like I'm at least a week away from that but still enjoying our bubble so it'll come in good time I hope

OP posts:
Soda123x · 10/03/2020 04:32

Hi @Dweebette congratulations on your little girl too !!
Tbh it was more me that wanted to get out the house, like I say even if just for a walk. I'm naturally a very busy person and was starting to get cabin fever after being cooped up in the hospital and then in the house for days on end. My little man weighed 6lb12 at birth then dropped to 6lb9.5 ans the health visitor is back today for him to be weighed again. Hope your milks fully come in and your little girl has started to gain now xx

Dweebette · 10/03/2020 04:40

@soda123x she is getting there, dropped from 7lb 8oz body weight to 6lb 12oz then to 6lb 6oz but thankfully we've turned a corner with feeding and she's starting to gain (back up to 6lb 10oz). Our only issue now is that she absolutely refuses to sleep anywhere except on us, we're working in shifts now but when DH has to go back to work it won't be possible. She hates being on her back

OP posts:
Soda123x · 10/03/2020 23:27

Aww glad shes starting to gain again now Smile but uh oh what a little monkey not letting you settle her unless she is on you or DH. My little man got weighed again today. He has put some weight back on but not quite back to birth weight so they are cooking back Monday to weigh him again xx

lovesT · 24/03/2020 10:41

How is everyone?

I'm 5 and a half weeks postpartum and feel like I'm having period pains 😩☹️ like the ones you get before a period .. I'm EBF so feel like it's unlikely but not sure what else it could be? Due 6 week check next week but doubt that will happen now. When did periods start for others who have had babies before? X

lovesT · 01/04/2020 17:56

Thankfully was a false alarm and just some pains, phew 😌

Quirkyquichie · 06/04/2020 12:29

It was precisely 28 days after giving birth for me lovesT. Hope everyone is well

Ginny1234 · 17/04/2020 04:13

Hi everyone, been in a world of my own since giving birth but would be good to catch up with everyone. Can't find the newborn thread though so can someone tag me in please if you're still following this thread xx

Quirkyquichie · 18/04/2020 23:35

I didn't know there was a new born thread. Week this is awkward

lovesT · 19/04/2020 08:38

I have tagged @Ginny1234 and can tag you too if you want @Quirkyquichie ? I'm not sure who started it and it's not as active as this one used to be (I'm assuming because of all the newborn babies?? 😄) but it's good. Do you want me to tag you in it?
