Hello again everyone, thanks for the tag. I noticed our last thread was on the verge of being full so refrained from posting because im not sure how to link a new thread.
Been getting the crotch lightning aka fanny daggers a lot this last few days. Just walking from the kids school back to the car a couple of streets away was awful. Feels like im about to part way with my innards. Ive been getting what feels like a stitch which mw says is stretching of the muscles.
My last scan they say baby was 5.5lb, and I've been booked in for induction for a week on Friday. Ive not packed my bag, or anything yet, im so unprepared!
What size is everyone buying? Ive got a couple of baby grows 0-3. But wondering Should I get newborn for leaving hospital being nearly 3 weeks early?

Sorry for long post, ive finally finished work so I've got 10 days to get everything together.
Hope everyone is well ☺

45andfine · 21/01/2020 07:37

I'm having opposite concerns! I have only bought Newborn size and am now worried that baby is so huge it'll need 0-3.

I remember buying 0-3 with my first and everything being way to big for her. ( She was 8lb), so maybe a set of newborn bodysuits and sleep suits? My partner is MOST excited about being able to go shopping once baby here because we've been buying unisex colours so far.

As for lightening fanny, I feel your pain! I went for a walk on the common on Sunday with my older girls and seriously started to worry baby was about to drop out! Was beginning to wish I'd downloaded that 3 word location thing in case I needed air ambulance 🤣😉. My whole pelvis is now very tender.

My maternity leave mission today is to wash and dry all of the baby's clothes, towels and nappies. Hopefully the sun comes out to help dry them!

LolaLollypop · 21/01/2020 10:00

My DD was 6'12 when she was born and the 0-3 stuff was massive on her. I'm definitely buying some newborn babygros as I think this one is going to be a similar size!

I've got lots of pink stuff ready to be washed if this is another pink one!

Thankfully no lightening fanny for me (that sounds horrific lol) but have a sore tailbone so am gingerly sitting down and getting up everywhere at the moment.

I wonder who will be next!! I need some good labour stories, I'm starting to feel nervous!

doublebarrellednurse · 21/01/2020 12:47

Oh god I'm getting the lightening fanny today as well ⚡️⚡️⚡️ Jesus. Especially in the shower 🚿

hazandduck · 21/01/2020 16:14

Yep I’m there too with the fanny daggers!! Saw the midwife this morning and baby’s head is right down so that explains that!

I’ve bought the digital Positive Birthing pack and going to start it tonight (bet baby comes then lol!)

It is so exciting we could be any day now ladies 😬 I’m the same with the Unisex stuff, all washed and am putting away in the nursery wardrobe today whilst DD is at my in-laws.

I’ve washed all our ‘girly’ baby clothes and bagged up in case it’s a boy, my SIL is expecting a girl in May and will pass to her if we have a boy but my gut is telling me it’s another girl!

I would definitely say take newborn size as well, my DD was 7lbs 12 and all the 0-3 didn’t fit for weeks x

lovesT · 21/01/2020 17:25

Oooh yes definitely feeling those daggers 😂 horrible! We had our last antenatal class last night, it was good but why so late! We didn't get home until nearly 11 😩. I'd had a long day at work and then long evening st the class so when I started walking to leave I had to stop because it was so painful, it really does feel like baby is trying to make her way out!!

I can really feel that baby has put on the pounds in the last week or so, I'm soo heavy and uncomfortable and my bump is all front so I feel like I could topple over lol 😄

Anyone else getting an itchy tummy? I've avoided stretch marks but in the last week I've had a few appear near my belly button and that's where it's itchy 🙁 just hoping they don't get too much worse. They're not too bad. Just itchy!

Can't wait to see little baby photos 😄🥰

lovesT · 21/01/2020 19:14

I'm also taking a mixture of new born and 0-3 months baby grows. I'm hoping she will be in the newborn stuff as it's super cute 🥰😍

Ginny1234 · 21/01/2020 19:34

Hmm 🤔 you're making me worried now, I've only got 0-3 because I've just been assuming he'll be big. I'm measuring a few weeks bigger on the fundal chart but not had any scans to check - might get one Thursday when I see the consultant.
I'm 6 foot and my husband is 6'3 so I doubt we'll have a petite newborn...right?

No fanny daggers for me thank goodness but feels like baby will fall out when I go to the loo.

Ginny1234 · 22/01/2020 03:11

Eww 😷 just woke up and threw my guts up. Just severe acid reflux I think. Feel so rough now. Will have to stay up for hours until my tummy is settled down again. Work will be great tomorrow 🙄

hazandduck · 22/01/2020 05:35

Oh no hope you are ok @Ginny1234, maybe that’s a sign something is starting??

hazandduck · 22/01/2020 05:37

I started watching the positive birthing videos tonight I found the lady talking really annoying after about 3 of them, must be my hormones making me grumpy 😬😂

Dweebette · 22/01/2020 07:34

I'm confused on sizes as well! We bought vests and baby grows "up to one month" from M&S which says up to 9lb 14, newborn said up to 7lb something and I reckon our little addition will be upwards of 8lb (based on the rest of the family). However, at my appointment last night the fundal measurement hasn't changed since 2 weeks ago so being sent for a growth scan today as well as position scan as think baby is breech again. Trying not to worry and told myself I was calm but then didn't sleep all night thinking about it

45andfine · 22/01/2020 07:53

@ginny1234 hope today isn't too tough on you, acid reflux is awful, keeps me awake, but haven't had it make me sick.

45andfine · 22/01/2020 07:58

Good luck Dwee. My first was breech but too big to turn by the time we found out.

Yours may be small enough to turn back? I seem to remember they didn't make any decisions until I got to 38 weeks and then I was booked in for section at 39 weeks. It was both a disappointment knowing I couldn't have my natural labor and a massive relief knowing when she was going to arrive!

Dweebette · 22/01/2020 08:22

@45andfine I think it should still have time to turn though the midwife said they might not risk it. I guess I'll find out more today and trying not to meet my troubles half way! The issue is that it seems to prefer being breech, it keeps turning so might just be a timing game. I've been doing everything they recommend to move it to the right position but it doesn't seem to want to. Little monkey causing issues before it's even born!

Not been on for a while. 36+4. Had my midwife appointment Tuesday and she's 3/5ths engaged. Suppose I better start thinking about my hospital bag lol

sulkysukey · 22/01/2020 11:15

Hope your scan goes ok today @Dweebette.

I've only bought 0-3 months as well - my previous babies have been too big for newborn, and as this one was estimated at 7lb at 35 weeks I reckon it'll be the same story! I now have my bags pretty much packed other than a few bits.

I've been told to have a go at getting colostrum too but I get a few tiny droplets forming on each nipple and only if I'm in the bath, so deffo not enough to hoover anything up into the little syringes! Will keep trying tho - any tips welcome!

hazandduck · 22/01/2020 11:18

Good luck, Dweebette. I’m sure I’ve heard of a website maybe called Spinning babies or
something where you can try different positions at home to turn them. I don’t know the success rate though x

hazandduck · 22/01/2020 11:19

Sulky I got my colostrum kit off the midwife yesterday, going to give it a go later I think! Will let you know how I get on x

45andfine · 22/01/2020 12:29

Interesting article about colostrum gathering. I'm not producing any that I'm aware of and my milk usually slow to come in.

C section is a week tomorrow! 🙄

I'm really going to pack to my bag now...

Mummy2beAT · 22/01/2020 13:26

Anyone just want their baby to be here already . Babies due on 21st feb and I get period type pains every morning that ease off . Anyone have similiar

45andfine · 22/01/2020 14:47

Me!!!! I'm getting so frustrated at not being able to do anything without getting tired and needing a sit down for 2 minutes afterwards! Back is hurting, bump is hurting, can't put my socks/ shoes on... No clothes fit...I could go on.... And on. 🤣

LolaLollypop · 22/01/2020 15:28

I go through times of being SO READY but then also times when want baby to stay in a bit longer! I don't think my bubs is too big yet (about 4lb 12oz at 34 weeks) so I'd like him/her to do a bit more cooking.

But yes... don't want to go overdue! Wine is calling lol Grin

FirstTimeDS · 22/01/2020 15:35

Lord yes I'm 38 weeks exactly today. Woke up with a migraine and assumed I was going to die ;D

constant BH and period type pains but nothing concrete, i keep telling my mum I'm going to be 50 weeks pregnant by the time he wants out
