@Emmacb82 Congratulations! Glad everything looks well for your little baby boy. And no it’s not bad at all, I’m exactly the same! I always loved my job and I do think I’ll miss it and the people but I just can’t wait for the time off and to be with my baby!

Asda are doing a really cute Disney range - they have 10 piece sets for £10 and other very reasonable offers 😍

Morning ladies,
I think I've got a chest infection, does anyone know if I can take cough medicine? I know I can take strepsils but this is more chesty/cough - thanks!

Report
woollycat · 17/01/2020 08:10

@mintbear I don't think you can - best to ask GP / pharmacist though!

Guys I am starting to freak out about my Braxton Hicks contractions! I've been having them for a few weeks now and I think they have become a lot more regular past few days - maybe 5-10 times a day. My tummy will really tighten for a minute or so - not painful but uncomfortable - this does fit the description of the Braxton Hicks contractions. Anyone else having these so regularly? I keep getting scared this means preterm labour at some point - I am only 22+1 today 😱

I'm 22+3 today, I had my whooping cough on Wednesday and yesterday the baby wasnt moving nearly as much, I have also got a pretty constant pain just under my ribs, is it too early to worry about change of movements?

Raindancer411 · 17/01/2020 09:36

@mintbear I take a spoon full of honey to help with coughs but otherwise speak to pharmacist

@Purple29 I think it’s too early, they say 24 weeks onwards don’t they?

Did the vaccination hurt? I’ve heard mixed reviews

Report
Purple29 · 17/01/2020 09:46

@charlieB93 I did think it was 24 weeks!!! Hes maybe just having a couple of rest days or something!! Cause he is normally pretty active!!

It nipped a teeny bit when she injected it but nothing really!!!

@AlmostAlwyn - have my glucose test also in 10 days, and it is at 7am and have to be there just before so up and out early. Think its also 3 hours! have been told to bring a book.

@Raindancer44 unfortunately I can't have honey as I have gd! It would spike my sugars. I'm going to ask the pharmacist to see what they suggest x

@Purple29 I get that quite a lot, start to worry then half a hour later she has a mad half an hour 🙄😂
Make sure you ring midwife if you’re concerned though 😊

Had my 20 week scan but found out there is only two vessels going into the umbilical cord, as a pose to the usual three. He said this sometimes can indicate heart or kidney issues but that on the scan they looked fine. It means I have to have an extra couple of growth scans as can mean a tiny baby. Bit of a worry but trying to tell myself he said that the scan of heart and kidney looked ok.

Raindancer411 · 17/01/2020 16:42

Just read the report and it calls it a single artery umbilical cord.

@CharlieB93 I caved and phoned the midwife, know it's still early days but was just playing in my mind a little bit!! I went in and they listened to his heart. Which was really good and strong!! Glad I went and got that reassurance. They couldnt have been nicer.

CharlieB93 · 17/01/2020 17:15

@Purple29 better safe than sorry! Glad everything is ok, if your midwife is anything like the ones round me they’d rather you be cautious anyway 😊

Report
Sunshine8888 · 17/01/2020 17:30

@Purple29, glad you got some reassurance. I saw the midwife today and she said movement isn’t expected to be regular until 28 weeks onwards.

@Raindancer411, I’ve not heard of that. Hope it won’t cause any issues 🤞🏻

@woollycat, I don’t think I’ve had any braxton hicks yet so I’m not sure 🤔 maybe speak to your midwife if you’re worried?

25 week check up went well. No sign of gestational diabetes from urine test, blood pressure fine as well. Listened to heartbeat 💓 baby was very wriggly so it took a while!!

Rib pain has been explained! I have a head pushing against one side of my ribcage and a foot on the other 😂 it’s so uncomfortable but at least I know it’s baby!! Bump was measuring bang on average as well for 25 weeks. Appointments get more regular now so have my next one 3 weeks today 😊 I’ve also had a letter from my health visitor with confirmation of an appointment at home for end of February.

Caspianberg · 17/01/2020 17:41

The whole movement thing is confusing. Yesterday I felt hardly anything, today load. But I wouldn't say its every hour or a pattern at all.

My husband’s employer have asked for a copy of my MAT B1 form for his paternity entitlement and it has really wound me up. He doesn’t need to provide this and it’s my personal information, my date of birth, my NI number.... I don’t want want to make things awkward for him but it has really annoyed me that they’re asking for it!!

@sazzlerazzle - I am sure I read that partners don't need this, they just have to put in writing the due date and that they want to claim paternity.

It must be the time for husband employers to wind up expectant mums! Mine has annoyed me because his have told him as I'm due week before half term week if I have baby before half term or during half term he has to start his paternity then- so basically not get paid for half term when he is on leave anyways!!! I have told him that actually it's as long as you take the 2 weeks paternity together( or he can choose to take 1 week) so if baby doesn't come before half term he won't have to start paternity till first day back! I've checked his union website and legally he has the right to choose when he starts his paternity as long as it's within 52days of birth( aka doesn't have to be the day baby is born!) hubby is just so accepting and thinks whatever work says is right 🙄- it's really got me annoyed but he is just like "ah we will see what happens" - I'm a planner/ like to know what's what which has just been heightened this pregnancy so the unknown of this is frustrating me!! Xxx

I didn't even think to question it when other half's work asked for a copy of mine. I thought it was to provide proof of baby as anyone could say their partner is pregnant and get time off. Then my husband is entitled to 6 months, so don't want to jeopardise that lol

@sazzlerazzle Can you block out NI number and give a photo copy?
