@sao81 - I don't think I have spd, but have had achy back muscles and top of legs/butt.
Probably nowhere near as bad as you but I have found that a short walk when it hurts actually then seems to relieve the pressure a bit once home.

sao81 · 16/01/2020 07:01

@facevalue I think thats the way its going to go as we've had another really bad night with her last night its so exhausting!

@May2311 I'm going to go doctors today and see what they say as I can't carry on this bad for another 4 months! Ive been finding my belt really uncomfortable, the velcro rubs sooo much, but the tubigrip makes me feel like im strangled 😭

@Caspianberg I've been trying to walk around at regular intervals in work as sometimes sitting down makes it worse, but I can't manage any more than 5 minutes😥

Caspianberg · 16/01/2020 07:12

@sao81 - The 5 mins here and there might still be helping a bit, even if they don't feel like it. Have you tried pilates or yoga? We have a local pilates teacher who I have been talking to, and he said he can adjust the lesson to suit pregnancy if I am interested. Or maybe online youtube version you can try at home.

Does a bath help at all?

mintbear · 16/01/2020 07:34

Morning ladies
I had my 25wk appointment yesterday.
Just blood pressure, checking of pee and measuring the bump. No blood test (I have already have been diagnosed with gd, so if you need any tips, let me know).
I see them every 3 weeks now, going to two weeks closer to dd. On top of gd, physio and mental health appointments it feels like I'm permanently at the hospital!

@sao81 I'm in the same boat re pgp. Over the past two weeks I've stopped walking - no walking to work (if I'm in and not being sick) no walking round shops - just limited to walking round the house and this has massively helped manage the pain. It's agony, you are not alone. I've been wearing my serola band and I think it has helped. It's not a pregnancy one and sizes come up small so order big.

I've been getting in/out of cars (uber is my new beet friend) backwards with legs together and any walking I do, I do it very slow and considered.

I'm back at the hospital to see the physio next week and I think I'll be issued with crutches. I got to a point a few weeks ago where i was crying in bed as I couldnt move, I took a few days off (from everything) and just rested and that helped. Little walks to keep things moving do more harm than good once you get past a point.

Raindancer411 · 16/01/2020 07:44

Argh I don't sleep well as it is but husbands work called him at 4:20am as they are running a project 24/7 at the moment and needed his help. Needless to say I am a grumpy tired women as couldn't get back to sleep Hmm

sao81 · 16/01/2020 07:44

@Caspianberg I've never tried yoga or pilates, I've found a local pregnancy pilates group but want to double check with physio as I'm so scared of making things worse! A bath relaxes me, but doesnt help much with the pain as as soon as I get out it kicks off again. If only I could live in the bath 😂
@sao81 thats exactly how I was last night, I was just stuck, couldn't move. My partner usually helps me laugh it off but he was considering getting me to hospital because of how bad I was. It's been my first full week back in work since before Christmas, so not sure if its just too much working full time. Is the serola belt different to others? The one I have is a support belt that velcro fastens

Oh ladies I am so sorry some of you are suffering so much! I have no experience of this so can't recommend anything useful, but I am thinking of you!

Anyone else with Rh Negative blood? I think they will need to do an anti D injection at the 28w appointment. Any idea if there will be further injections too and what to expect in general?

Sunshine8888 · 16/01/2020 08:57

@sao81 it sounds awful - I really hope you can find a way to feel more comfortable.

I am not suffering anything like some of you are but also feeling discomfort now in my lower back and my ribs! Sitting at my desk for work is painful, I just cannot find a comfortable position and I feel like I’ve got something stuck under my ribcage. It is so uncomfortable and aches as though it’s badly bruised.

sao81 · 16/01/2020 09:23

So I've just went into complete meltdown. Rang the GP who said they can't keep seeing me to tell me what I already know, they can't give me any more pain relief, if i want reduced hours in work basically said sort it yourself. I've just cried and cried and cried. Rang the physio department and they've been amazing they've had a cancellation today so are going to see me. Hoping they can do something as feel so overwhelmed with everything 😥

@woollycat I'm not rh negative but I think you get an injection during/after labour aswell!

OP posts:
helpasisterout · 16/01/2020 11:19

@sao81 you poor thing hope they can do something to help you as it sounds like total torture☹️ keep us posted x

sao81 · 16/01/2020 11:38

@helpasisterout thank you! I feel like all i do is moan about being in pain lately but it is honestly worse than labour what I'm feeling right now. Will keep you updated x

@mintbear only just realised i replied to myself instead of you🤦‍♀️

@woollycat I’m RH neg 👋
I’ve been trying to contact midwife about the injection but I’ve just been told she’s left and they don’t know when her replacement will start!
I think you have them at hospital though

CharlieB93 · 16/01/2020 13:02

Anyone else feel really shaky every now and again? I’m guessing it’s a sign I need to eat but I’m not sure whether it’s normal?

Pastnowfuture · 16/01/2020 13:41

@sao81 Sorry you are suffering so much. Hope the physio helps. I have HG so still vomiting all the time. My GP is happily issuing fit notes that say 'reduced hours' and then I basically negotiate with work each week what I can manage. Surely you should be entitled to the same!

May2311 · 16/01/2020 16:51

@sao81 how did you get on at physio? Xx

sao81 · 16/01/2020 18:24

So had physio, feel so relieved after today thank you everyone for being so nice to me after my meltdown! I've been given a new support belt, given some crutches and also some exercises to try, which she also emailed over to me. I have a follow up in a week to see how things are going

@pastnowfuture I think I just had a really shitty doctor today, my manager said she will get thingd sorted for me so hoping next week I will know more!

sazzlerazzle · 16/01/2020 19:16

@sao81 wow I can’t believe your doctor was so awful and unsympathetic!! Glad the physios are better and it sounds like you have a nice and reasonable boss too ah oh is good. Sorry that you’re suffering so much, I can’t imagine :(

@Raindancer411 Ugghhh I hope that call was REALLY important because I would be furious!

Raindancer411 · 16/01/2020 19:31

@sazzlerazzle Apparently it was important to the project but I said to DH to tell his boss they I wasn't impressed lol

AlmostAlwyn · 16/01/2020 19:37

@sao81 sorry you've been having such a hard time of it! And a horrible doctor on top of it all! No wonder you're crying! Hope the physio can help you turn a corner Flowers

@mintbear I know what you mean about endless appointments! GP sent me to an endocrinologist as my thyroid hormones were measuring high. After waiting in the waiting room for 45 minutes, she took one look at the test results and said they're totally fine for pregnancy! Hmm She did an examination anyway and everything looks totally normal. Overactive GP, not thyroid! Perhaps I'll send the GP an invoice for 2 hours of my time! Grin

Looking forward to the glucose tolerance test next week too Sad

Emmacb82 · 16/01/2020 19:44

@sao81 sorry to hear you’ve been in so much pain, hope things start to improve a bit.

I had my 20 week scan yesterday. Was relieved to know everything was fine and baby looks healthy. And we are expecting our second little boy!! Starting to feel a bit more movement although it’s still quite faint due to anterior placenta. Starting to count down the weeks till maternity - is that bad?!!

Sunshine8888 · 16/01/2020 19:49

@sao81 that’s good, hopefully onwards and upwards now 🤞🏻

@emmacb82 nope I am too! 51 working days to go! Ha

sao81 · 16/01/2020 19:52

Thank you all so much 😘
@emmacb82 I keep thinking whats the earliest I can go off, I can't wait to finish!!
@AlmostAlwyn I've had a GTT before, it wasn't as awful as I had expected. Does your hospital run any other clinics on the day? Ours don't, so you can go for a little sleep in between!

OP posts:
AlmostAlwyn · 16/01/2020 19:58

@sao81 I had it in my first pregnancy too, so I know it's not really terrible, I'm just not looking forward to having to get to the clinic for 6.30am and staying for 3 hours! A little sleep would be great! But if it's the same as last time, then I'll just have to wait in a waiting room. I'll take my laptop and prepare something to watch!
