@AlmostAlwyn Are you in the UK? The whooping cough vaccine is a multi vaccine jab and includes tetanus

CharlieB93 · 14/01/2020 03:36

@AlmostAlwyn I have Graves’ disease so I’m being monitored closely re thyroid 😊

OMG I’ve just woke with such a start, I thought I was going into labour the pain was that bad... it was trapped wind 🤢 I’ve never felt pain like it! Is anyone else suffering?

AlmostAlwyn · 14/01/2020 07:10

@Raindancer411 No, not in the UK. EU Smile

Thanks for setting up new thread.

I've got my next midwife appointment tomorrow, not sure what to expect at this one?

Is anyone else still suffering with daily sickness? I've just become accepting that it'll carrying on throughout, I'd hoped it would go away after 20 weeks but I'm nearly 25 weeks now.

I've also started to get pain at the top of my tummy.. I think it might be a muscles separating

@Mintbear Same as you with the ache at the top of the belly but putting it down to everything being pushed up and indigestion is back with vengeance.

Also I felt sick all through my first pregnancy and seems the same this time (although it was a lot worse at the beginning of this one and seems to have eased a little bit)

Does anyone know if we have a glucose tolerance test in England? This hasn’t been mentioned to me

Report
sao81 · 14/01/2020 08:21

@sunshine8888 it depends on risk factors and probably your trust too. I have BMI thats just over 35 so they do it as standard for anyone over 35 where I live. Think previous pregnancies can also come into it depending on if they were straightforward or not. I'm sure if you had any signs of diabetes your midwife would also then refer you for one

Hey @Sunshine8888 I'm not sure it's done as 'standard', like @sao81 says, I think it's done on risk factors/symptoms. I had one early as I had glucose in my urine at my last midwife appointment.

I've found out this morning that I do have a standard blood test at my 25 wk appointment tomorrow, have you had your 25 week appointment yet? I know we are due around the same time.

Hi everyone! Has anyone got there cribs yet?
With our first we used a Woden swing one from John Lewis but I wanted a different one this time as I didn't feel that one was that comfy. I really like the schnuggle air crib. I like the fact that you can buy a conversion kit for when the baby outgrows it but isn't ready for their cot in their own room! Anyone else looking at this? My first baby was 9lbs4oz so I'm expecting this baby to be big as well and some of the cribs are just soooo small you can tell they just won't last!
Hope everyone is ok! I currently have the worst cold ever. I can't believe how much I am suffering, I've not had a cold like this in a very long time! It must be because I'm pregnant and not as strong as normal but oh dear god it's horrendous!

@Sunshine8888 - not in Uk but here The glucose test is standard. Have at the end of the month.

@november90 - still undecided on final cot yet, going straight for a cot though as it will fit in our bedroom

@Sunshine8888 I think you have to hit certain triggers to have the glucose test. I have mine early Feb. I had it in my first pregnancy as I have cysts on my ovaries and I have to have it again with my second because of that and due to my little boy being a larger baby ☺️

I'm so nervous for it! I cannot morning fast at all that's when I'm most hungry 😩

@mintbear I have my 25 week app on Friday and need to take a urine sample with me to that so perhaps they’ll discuss if any issues with the results. I have always had a healthy BMI.

@november90 I have bought a snuzpod and then a cot bed once baby outgrows that

@Sunshine8888 I am having G diabetes test in a couple of weeks as I hit the "risk factor" that my dad has diabetes 🙄 I have known about it seen booking appt though so I expect if you needed it they would have told you by now. Again I'm wondering how I'm going to starve myself all morning!!! xxxx

@Sunshine8888 I absolutely love the snuzpod! I really wanted to get it but I just felt it was quite small and with my first being 9lbs4oz I wanted to get something a little bigger just incase 🙈

I also think of you have regular glucose in your water samples they will test you for it.. I think there's quite a lot of little triggers on top of the biggies listed below!

@sunshine8888 as everyone else says GTT is if you have any risk factors. I have to have it as my last baby was over 10lb. However he was 16 days late and I still maintain that if he had been on time he would have been under 10lb. I'm due to have mine early feb but I am thinking of not having it unless anything shows in my urine.
Not sure yet.l though. Still thinking it over. X

@Sunshine8888 in my first pregnancy i requested to have it. this time they booked me to have one first week of feb. i have no glucose in urine but i prefer to be checked anyway

i'm 23 weeks today- and not seeing midwife again until 24feb but my manager is already asking for my Matb1 form 🙄 when are you ladies handing yours in? i can't be arsed to go to hospital just to get the form - someone mentioned in the last thread that they got theirs in the post? can't find it the exact message now

baby is kicking more strongly and often now x i'm enjoying it

@facevalue my employer was the same so I went to a drop in clinic to get one. I think someone did mention being able to get it in the post 🤔 can't remember who it was though!

I handed mine in today- my place has loads of blooming forms to fill in and then I had to post it off to our HR as well as submit it on our systems!! It's done now though so that's one less thing to think about. Xx

What im not looking forward to with the GTT test is I cannot eat from 7pm the night before test. Test is at 8am, and lasts 2 hours. So will have to go at least 7pm-10am before I can eat!
