@sao81 thanks for setting up the new thread! Thread 5 already, wow 😆

@november90 We’ve also gone for the snuzpod but I must admit now it’s set up, I’m worried it’s a bit small! It’s our first so no experience on how big baby might be (I’m tiny and my husband is very tall!)

@facevalue Check the maternity policy at your place of work but generally, the MAT B1 form is only required 21 days before you want your stat maternity pay (SMP) to start. However, your policy might say they need the form at the same time as you notifying them that you want to take stat maternity leave (SML) which is usually 15 weeks before your due date.

Just be really sure you stick to whatever your policy says to make sure they don’t try and make things awkward for you. Likewise make sure that they do their part - e.g. when you notify them of your SML, they should confirm back within 28 days in writing what the start and end dates are.

(Sorry if I’ve made this more confusing! I’m a HR manager but things do depend on the policy especially if there’s an enhanced package. I’m processing all my own stuff as no one else in the business has a clue - I could tell them anything! 😂)

I cant remember who said about cots/cribs, we've got a tutti bambini cozee for our room, I kept my little girls big cot just need a new mattress, and have a moses for downstairs!
@facevalue I'm suppose to have a 25 week app but my GP sugery are saying I cant book until.the end of Jan for february appointments, even though it'll be 11th feb when im 25 weeks 🤦‍♀️ my manager is quite chilled with everything, but she has said she's never managed anyone whos pregnant before so think I'll have to check HR for the policy so I don't get caught out

@sao81 @Clairesoph oh dear- we had a few nights of our toddler waking but i just bring her into our bed to sleep if that happened or we will be at it the rest of the night

hubby woke up at 5 to travel

@facevalue @sao81 yeah, defo good prep for the newborn! Normally OH will go in to him because I'm struggling with a bump and he's still in a cot but thankfully today is my day off, so nothing but a lazy day today for us! I was so strict when he was little about never having him in my bed that he doesnt settle in there at all, he thinks it's play time. Sometimes I kick myself cos after he didn't go back til 4.30 and now he's up at 7am I'd love to have just snuggled up with him in my bed 😩

sao81 · 15/01/2020 07:22

@facevalue @clairesoph shes never really got in our bed, so we've tried to avoid it. When she does stay in our bed one of us (he) has to get out because shes such a worm and I'm huge already 😂 so been trying to get her to settle herself again which is having mixed results, another long day in work today for us

I think you only have a 25 week check up if it’s your first baby? I could be wrong though.

@sazzlerazzle I did hear that the snuzpod is quite tiny but they only sleep in them until about 6 months so I gambled. Also have no idea how big baby will be - my husband and I are both fairly tall

Twitwooo · 15/01/2020 08:59

@Sunshine8888 correct, but I think some trusts let you have them all if it's not your first if you want them. Not mine!

We are also thinking about the snuzppd. We are also both pretty tall so not sure how long it will last but oh well. It looks comfy!

@Sunshine8888 my notes say you dont get one at 25 weeks, but my midwife said she wants to see me then anyway so to book in. May be due to the SPD, not sure!

Hi ladies been couple weeks I just had to catch up on. I've been dealing with a teenage son misbehaving at school so after plenty of failed attempts to reprimand him I've told oh I'm going to let his bike tyres down outside school if he receives one more detention😂.. mum can be petty too son 🤣.
Baby is so active she doesn't stop lol, my other son keeps coming up to me saying "is she awake" then he puts a toy on my stomach to watch it move ❤. We have brought the pram etc now.. managed to find an absolute bargain on ebay for an icandy one. Only thing left to get is her snuzpod now which I'm excited about.
I'm struggling with indigestion.. anyone else? Its dreadful

Anyone else feeling totally emotional?

I'm normally like stone as I never cry or get wound up and upset.

Yesterday we said bye to a much loved family pet after a long and great life which normally would affect me but not to this extent, I was howling all last night and whenever I see a dog on tv.

May bit be helped by the above but I have a very strident opinionated colleague who I normally get on really with but today they disagreed with me when telling them my annoyance with another colleague because of work not carried out by stating 'no way no no they are really helpful' whilst talking over me and thankfully this was by phone in bad signal but I just crumbled..

Ugh get a grip woman it's only bound to get worse!

@helpasisterout I'm emotionally very fragile. The littlest thing sets me off and once I start crying I can't stop. Yesterday I went to a funeral and although I realise it's completely normal to cry I was actually quite embarrassed as I literally couldn't breathe I was sobbing so much.

Sorry about your family pet Flowers

Ladies with spd/pgp or anyone who can reassure me or give me advice. I have a support belt, prescribed codiene and start physio next week. The past 2 hours I have been stuck in bed, no over exaggeration fully stuck to the point I'd scream in pain if i tried to move myself. My partner helped lift me up and i ended up folded in half in pain, I cant really put any pressure at all on my right side, whether that be walking or sitting. It almost feels like a slipped disc in my back. I just need to figure out how I can relieve the pain as its only just calming down now

@sazzlerazzle I left my hot water bottle in work as if I take the codiene in work I end up away with the fairies 😭 I wasnt sure if heat pads or rubs were safe to use in pregnacy, im so paranoid about using something I shouldnt. Its hard because im sure ibuprofen would help with inflammation but again can't take it in pregnancy

@helpasisterout omg that's the worst thing. i still get tearful when i talk about dogs old boyfriends lost! so please don't feel bad 😳🙄

@sao81 my DD still in her cot, sleeps in her room and sleeps through but for the once a month odd cry or early wake up i think if u shattered just grab the kid and sleep in your bed ( not on night two cos the cheeky monkeys will just keep doing it - they r not stupid). when i breast fed i coslept between 2months old and 4 months then that's it she was off to her bed. but my DD was the worst as she literally would startle at any noise even if it's just me breathing coughing turning ... i had no other choice 😂 but cosleep - hubby just slept in the other room i didn't care as i was shattered

@sao81 - sorry to hear your in so much pain. It sounds extremely severe - I would recommend going back to docs as there could be something else going on. I couldn't say whether my belt is working - it certainly isn't stopping the pain. I have had a bad couple of days with my hips- not sure whether it's because it's got colder. I vaguely remember when I first started suffering that I was told I could use heat pads but in all honesty they didn't really help. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful & really hope it eases soon for you! Xxx
