@AlmostAlwyn oh yeah the up breathing is a life saver!

In other news I am working from home from yesterday and for the foreseeable future. Our company has now said that if anyone wants to they can, which is a big relief as I was starting to get anxious about the peak time tube, the busy cafes and all.

@facevalue my anxiety has been awful the past couple of weeks. Putting it down to exhaustion, I'm barely getting any sleep as I'm out of codiene, my pelvis feels like its going to snap in half and keep having nightmares that I'm bleeding 🙈 see the midwife today hoping she can put my mind at ease!

Has anyone else started having strange stomach pains?

I have had the last 24hrs a pain at the top of my bump. It's hard to describe but it feels almost like a constant bruising pain and ache rather than sharp stitch or anything. Doesn't seem to be related to baby movement or kicks. But it does seem like baby has shifted a bit and now all in the front of bump, and nothing at the sides.
Had 32 week scan last thursdya and baby was head down

AlmostAlwyn · 10/03/2020 10:04

@Caspianberg yes, me! It's not constant but feels a bit like my diaphragm is bruised? I don't remember a similar pain in my first pregnancy, but good to know it's not just me Smile

@Raindancer411 oh bless you it must've been so stressful to sit and listen to all those different scenarios. I know I can't help because I can't shed any light on anything, but please feel free to offload on here with any of your worries if you need to ❤️

@facevalue are you feeling stressed about the coronaviris? I am starting to feel really worried as well and I'm annoyed at myself for feeling worried because I don't want to be a victim to all the media! I'm worried about my parents who are in their 60s, particularly my mum who is in remission from breast cancer and has scar tissue on her lungs! Also worried about my little boy who is constantly ill and then how common this will be when the newborn is here! There's just a lot of fear everywhere at the moment about it and it's hard to shut off and ignore it! Self isolation is all well good and said until you have young children and live with your elderly parents and you are pregnant 🙈

facevalue · 10/03/2020 10:21

@november90 you said it exactly as i feel- worries about our parents, the kids hopefully will bounce back but i'm asthmatic and pregnant i want this baby to come out safe... it's not that i'm scared of dying... also i can see that the government is being cheap and trying to save money ( it's ok for the "elderly" to die) so no sense of urgency.

i'm afraid the reality is that it's not just a media hype - the threat is real from the mouths of ppl that work in the field ( close friends) and local death already happened so it's not all imaginary ..

other thing i'm anxious about being off / house renovations etc money while off- i'm hating my current work place so the worry that i have to get back to that and/ or having to find another job. my family are far and i don't want them travelling on trains planes etc x i think it's general anxiety

@sao81 thanks .. i agree when i can't sleep that makes everything look worst ..

@facevalue I think the coronavirus thing is starting to bother alot of people, my friends are worried about our kids, we seem to get constant reminders from them about it. Also found out today that a member of staff at the hospital I use has been diagnosed. Me being completely irrational thinks that member of staff will so happen to be the woman who scanned me last week! When in reality I am probably fine, but it is a constant worry. My mum died of swine flu in 2009 so I worry even more about everything

@facevalue yes it really does feel like that doesn't it! My mum bless her is really worried so I'm trying to not let her see that I'm worried too as I know she doesn't need that!

Perhaps a nice break from work will help clear your mind about returning or looking elsewhere. I know it's easy to say that when you're not in that situation though...

When you're pregnant and feeling a bit low I think people almost shame you into making you feel like you shouldn't feel low, because after all we are so lucky to be carrying our babies! But in reality it is yes absolutely amazing, but incredibly stressful! It's like the week before your period, but every week 🙈

I'm just waiting for my midwife appointment now... I'm going to be told the baby is measuring huge again (I measured at home and I'm still off the chart!!) and the baby is still breach so I'll no doubt be super stressed upon leaving the doctors today 🙈 Caught a little cold off my son too so feeling a bit rank today!

@november90 all i can say from my experience - an elective c section is the best choice i made ... assuming you r generally a fit person the recovery phase is not as bad as u imagine. i was out for a meal by one week and by the second week i wasn't even taking paracetamol - my friends with vaginal births took longer for episiotomy scars to heal and had much longer discomfort down there ... ppl can deliver a breach baby vaginally if u feel strongly about doing that or they can try to manually turn your baby ( which has risks) ..
i'm sad for you having to go through this without a supportive partner ( your ex is vile and what goes around comes around- karma/ he shall see) .. hang in there x

@AlmostAlwyn - oh its good to hear someone else has similar (although not good your suffering also!). Yes thats exactly what it is, like diaphragm or internal brusing. It feels like when your have been sick or something and stomach still queasy and achy afterwards but I haven't been sick at all.
I think my bump is now growing over the top of my ribs!? I didn't know that was even possible, but I def get baby kicks above ribs on the outside. I am fairly short, so i assume running out of space

@facevalue she had other health problems too, but it just makes everything seem much more real, especially with how your immune system is when pregnant! Just need to prepare, although panic buying toilet rolls seems excessive 😂😂😂

@november90 just been reading an article on one of the baby apps I have and found this "You may find that your baby’s head engages in your pelvis later than it did in your first pregnancy. In fact, it may not engage until just before you go into labour." It made me think of you! Hopefully his head moves down soon

@Caspianberg yes me! This is what I was referring to over the weekend! So painful !! I'm carrying really high so put it down to stretching and strains xx

@mrsf1204 - seems like a few of us then. Mine seems to be subsiding now, around 18hrs after it first started, so its a drawn out thing rather than a 5 min ache. Going to spend the afternoon reading kindle and eating chocolate rice cakes

@sao81 @facevalue thank you both! In me tally preparing myself for a c section because I just find it easier to deal with to expect the worst! But I'll keep up the swimming etc... it's out of my hands really so what will be will be! It would just be typical after everything I've been through recently 🙈 I'm so worried about not being able to drive or lift my son after... but I've read loads of other mummy's saying they were back on the road 3/4 weeks later so I'll just have to do my best to stay fit!

So sorry about your mum @sao81 that must've been so traumatic for you and I totally understand your concerns! Being worried about it is nothing to be ashamed of. We all have different worries and none are any less important then the other!
There's been a local case to us too now.... I just want my family to be ok!

@november90 I think because theres been a lack of info it hasnt helped. Just saw that the RCOG have now released guidance and its made me feel a little bit better knowing theyve considered the impacts on pregnant women!

So my ex has struck again. We decided. A baby name together before the spilt. I told him recently I just really can't connect with it anymore and it just makes me feel so sad. It turns out he's told everyone and his dog the name despite us promising to keep it a secret! He's also gone and deleted every single friend/family member off his Facebook page incl my mum who has been so good to him and loved him like a son for years. He could've at least sent a message exhaling to save her feelings but he seems adamant in hurting us and only considering his own feelings! I'm so sick of him and how selfish he is. I don't know how I'll cope with him when the baby is here :(
