Hey! Just wanted to start up a thread because I couldn’t find another one, just got my BFP today after about 6 months of trying. Due date is 1st august! Still feeling nervous as I’ve had 2 miscarriages in the past but both before 6 weeks, so ill be keeping my fingers crossed and wont let myself get too excited until that deadline has passed!

Hope to hear from other ladies due at the same time, and hear your BFP stories :) xx

Hi girls,

Joining the party a bit late! I’m due 2nd August 😊 and will be 9 weeks tomorrow. Can I ask when you guys had your ‘booking appointment’ with your GPS as in your blood tests etc? My private doctor doesn’t offer the, so I had to register at an NHSS docs the other week, but not heard anything since...

Nellie3 · 28/12/2019 19:32

@Jojo19834 where I live they do take a blood sample during the booking appointment even though it's a home visit. They also ask you to give a wee sample so make sure you're hydrated haha x

Jojo19834 · 28/12/2019 19:57

Thanks both, mines on 9th so a bit after some. Have a private scan on 5th as IVF clinic said to have another in 3 weeks (was already planning on doing it anyway so just justified it for me!). Then I can stress less if my 12 week scan isn’t until later. I’m assuming they’ll book it at the appointment which is after 10 weeks.

@NotExactly9 welcome, every area is different, mine you self-refer to midwife. Also, my surgery only took 48hours to get me on the system so I would also check that has happened. I’d give them a call and just follow up with them. If it’s in the system then you are all good and can wait for someone to contact you. Mine took a week to call but said up to 2 weeks so probably depends how busy they are.

At some point we will need to create a new thread as not far off 1000 posts now 😵

NotExactly9 · 28/12/2019 20:03

Ah that’s great, thanks for the advice!

How far along are you both? How did you find Christmas in the first trimester?!

Yeah agree on starting a new thread...

alexTP · 28/12/2019 20:53

Congratulations ladies!

I found out a week ago that I am pregnant!! Due date 21st of August Smile

I am 39yrs old, first baby, quite nervous..

We are on holiday and I was quite sick, on antibiotics and loads of other sinus meds.. when I experienced nausea and extreme tiredness (very unusual for me)- did the pee on a stick test- twice, followed by a blood test confirming pregnancy.

We are heading back day after tomorrow - any consultants to recommend for a nearly 40 yr old, first time mum? I am quite stressed about my age and prefer a consultant lead delivery.

Also, when does one have their first scan?

Thank you ladies!!! It's good to speak with other women dealing with early pregnancy :-) thank god for the internet.. wonder how our mum's did it :-)))

girlygirl98 · 28/12/2019 21:10

@alexTP congrats how exciting for you! You have first scan at 12 weeks but most of us seem to end up with some sort of spotting which takes you to your local early pregnancy unit. I've had a scan at 5 and 8 weeks so far for this reason. You can also pay privately for a reassurance scan at about 8 weeks. Anything earlier usually raises more questions than answers

f00k · 29/12/2019 00:27

Hi everyone. I was on the August/September 2020 thread but it seems to have disappeared. I'm 5+1. Due on the 28th August but as I'll be having an ELCS mid-August. This is DC3 for me and DP. Not really any symptoms at the moment. Occasional boob twinge and I've been feeling shattered the past two days but no nausea or anything yet.

TubbyMcFatfuck · 29/12/2019 01:25

Hi all, lurker here tentatively joining in 😃
Got my bfp a couple of weeks back on my 40th birthday. This is my third pregnancy, and if all goes well will be my 2nd living child.

I already have a 2 and a half year old daughter and I lost a baby girl in June this year when I was 20 weeks pregnant due to her having Edwards Syndrome. It was absolutely horrendous. We’ve been trying since August and I told myself that if I were lucky enough to get pregnant again, I wouldn’t join another ante natal thread until I was over the 20 week scan. However I’ve been following since I found out and just thought to hell with it, I’m joining in. I’m trying to be positive!

I reckon I’m about 5+4 but I haven’t told my GP yet or self-referred to midwives or anything. I’m pretty sure when I was in hospital when I lost my baby, they told me I’d bypass all that and should refer myself straight to the hospital. I just haven’t got round to that yet because I went on holiday the day I found out and then it’s been hectic with Christmas and also because I don’t quite believe it myself yet!

Anyway, just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. Good luck to all those waiting on early scans and hugs to those who are worried sick about bleeding and loss of symptoms. To those who have had to leave the thread already and those who have lost previous pregnancies, I’m so sorry for your losses. It’s absolutely heartbreaking.

Wishing us all happy and healthy pregnancies

Jojo19834 · 29/12/2019 07:36

@NotExactly9 I’m 8+4 so just behind you, due 5 August. Christmas was tiring, my biggest symptom now is tiredness and vivid dreams. Have another scan next Sunday so praying I am a lucky one with lack of symptoms rather than something more sinister. So far it has been easy(ish) so really want to be a lucky one. Some people have had quite scary journeys on here and most have stuck around which is great

Welcome @f00k and @TubbyMcFatfuck. no advice to consultants and wishing you both the best with this pregnancy after previous journeys. A few people on here have also had previous losses

NamelessNinja · 29/12/2019 08:02

Hi everyone. I've also been lurking but tentatively going to join! I am due 17th August (by my calculations anyway) with DC2, making me 7 weeks tomorrow. Feeling very anxious and debating an early scan for some reassurance!

Tink2007 · 29/12/2019 10:05

I’ve been lurking but we found out we are expecting our third baby about a week and a half ago.

Tentative due date is 23/08/2020 on some calculators and 25/08/2020 on others.

girlygirl98 · 29/12/2019 10:22

Had quite a lot of red blood last night. More like a period not what I'd call spotting. My scan was last Monday and saw the heartbeat then. Rang epau but they won't re scan. I've rang a private place and booked for 4 pm but husband thinks I'm being silly. Ugh I just want to know everything's ok

Frazzlerock · 29/12/2019 10:51

@girlygirl98 that's awful they won't re-scan if you're worried and have had bleeding. What are their reasons!?

Frazzlerock · 29/12/2019 10:52

Hi new people!
Well there must be about 300 people in this group now 😂

girlygirl98 · 29/12/2019 10:57

@Frazzlerock because they scanned on Monday and it was viable with a heartbeat but at that point i only had mild spotting. I'm going for a private scan at 4. Very nervous

Frazzlerock · 29/12/2019 10:58

They really should scan you. Even if you only went on Monday. Wishing you so much luck for this afternoon. Please keep us updated. Thinking of you x

girlygirl98 · 29/12/2019 11:01

Thanks hun x

Tink12345 · 29/12/2019 11:14

Hello new people 😊 Welcome to the gang!

@girlygirl98 Fingers crossed. Will be thinking of you. Can't believe they wouldnt rescan you!

PandaPink · 29/12/2019 11:48

I have everything crossed for you @girlygirl98 x
Welcome to all new members!

Is anybody else sick at least once a day? My face and the toilet pan are becoming best buds! X

Babykent2019 · 29/12/2019 13:32

@girlygirl98 hope everything goes ok for you
@PandaPink - sick as a dog today, it's my birthday so we booked a weekend away. Currently curled up in hotel bed and told oh to order room service for himself because I'm not moving 🤢

Seasidegirl11 · 29/12/2019 13:35

@PandaPink I am sick at least once a day, from the minute I wake! But it’s the 24/7 nausea that’s killing me. I’ve had it since 5+4 (now 8+2) and struggling to eat anything. Luckily had time booked off work but dreading going back next week.

I’ve got a scan on Tuesday following a red bleed a couple of weeks ago. Good luck to everyone who are waiting on theirs too.

jennielm · 29/12/2019 13:36

@girlygirl98 my fingers and everything else are crossed for you...I too can’t believe they wouldn’t rescan you, with red blood that is a worry!! I would be getting a private scan too in your shoes. Please do let us know how you get on.

I’m feeling very sorry for myself today (in the most happy of ways). I’ve passed two mini milestones now - gestation that I started bleeding last time and gestation that MC was confirmed. Feel soooooo nauseous but not yet been sick and I’m exhausted beyond belief!! Tomorrow is our private scan and I’m terrified...peed on a stick nearly 30 times now but have promised DH that I’ll stop if scan is fine tomorrow. I know that they get less accurate from now anyway.

Anyway, hoping everyone is having as restful a weekend as they can. Love and baby dust to all. Flowers

jennielm · 29/12/2019 13:37

@Seasidegirl11 good luck for your scan too.xx

girlygirl98 · 29/12/2019 15:46

Lots of very pregnant women in this waiting room with their partners. Feel a bit scared and lonely. My dh is with the children. I've paid in advance so I can just leave if it's bad news

Jojo19834 · 29/12/2019 16:38

@girlygirl98 how has it gone?
