Hi all,

Anyone due July 2020? Sorry if I've missed a thread, done a quick search and couldn't find one...

DH and I were due to start TTC for #2 in the new year, but haven't been actively not-trying. Well something was just niggling at me over the weekend, I just 'had a feeling' if that makes sense... did an FRER yesterday and there it was! that second pink line...

I'm equal parts excited and batshit scared haha. I've not told DH yet, it's his birthday on Tuesday so going to break it to him then.

@Doingitagain37 oh wow, im glad to hear that. I cant help worrying im so scared of losing the baby :( every time i think about it it makes me want to cry. Im not sure how bad my uterus is and so im going to have to wait anxiously for the appointment.
Are they keeping an eye on you now? Or are you also waiting to see a specialist?

Nisha98 · 11/12/2019 11:17

Hi everyone. I have just joined Mumsnet. I'm 10 weeks today, pregnancy #1. I have my first scan tomorrow and I feel very anxious (and excited, but mostly anxious!) I'm getting fed up with my mood swings - I started weeping in front of some neighbours I don't know very well yesterday which was very embarrassing Blush I explained that I was feeling hormonal, but didn't go into specifics - I have only told a select few people my news as I want to wait and see how the scan goes. Wish me luck!! Hope everyone is else doing well xxx

Doingitagain37 · 11/12/2019 12:59

@susie12345 I had my booking in appointment with the midwife and she has referred me for consultant led care. It's an interesting one as I had a scan at epu at 7 weeks due to spotting and you could clearly see the bicornuate uterus. . But already I had a private scan yesterday at 10 weeks and you cant make it out so well once the womb starts stretching. By later in the pregnancy they wont be able to tell on the scan at all

susie12345 · 11/12/2019 13:43

@Doingitagain37 oh ok any idea how long it takes to see the consultant? I dont think my midwife has referred me yet as i can access my notes online and it is not there yet, im so anxious about it.
I had a scan at 5w and they didnt say anything at that time, had another scan yesterday and it was mentioned then. I really want to know how bad it is as im hoping they will say its nothing to be concerned about.
Is that a good thing that it kind of disappears once the womb starts stretching?
Im feeling some kind of pressure in my uterus today so im so worried :( i keep going to toilet to check if im not bleeding.
I just think that before i knew i was so blissfully unaware and wasnt stressed about this.

Dafs123 · 11/12/2019 16:36

@susie12345 can't you call the midwife and explain how anxious you feel? Just say you'd like a lot more detail about the situation. It's not fair to have you so worried. X

rhiiila · 11/12/2019 17:34

Hi all, It's been hard to keep
Up with the posts! I have my first appointment today 8w 5d any tips? They told me that they won't give me a scan until 12 weeks but I have weirdly lost all my symptoms (no bleeding) could I still have lost my baby? Obviously I will ask tonight but any first appointment tips??

susie12345 · 11/12/2019 17:39

@Dafs123 i told my midwife yesterday and she just said she didnt know anything about it so could not comment. I also asked a different midwife who works at my work place and she just said to try and not worry but wasnt very helpful either, just said i need to just wait for the appointment, the consultant will decide how urgent it is and that they have lots of other people to deal with!!!!

susie12345 · 11/12/2019 17:41

@rhiiila hi i hope all goes well at your appointment, let us know :) i have no tips for you, my mind went blank when i saw my midwife but my partner was quick to ask if its safe to have sex :D

Kiki275 · 11/12/2019 18:07

@rhiiila make a list of any questions whilst they are fresh in your mind. You'll go over so much stuff at your appointment it's easy to forget what you actually want to ask x

Dafs123 · 11/12/2019 18:08

Aw that's awful @susie12345 all you want is some reassurance x

rhiiila · 11/12/2019 18:26

Thanks!! Men are So funny @susie12345 also I hope you find reassurance soon!! Thank you @Kiki275 I don't know why I am so nervous!

RedRobin7 · 11/12/2019 18:53

@Dafs123 I had an internal at 6 weeks, external at 8 weeks and then internal at 9 weeks when I was bleeding. Just had my 10 week scan which was external and thankfully the blood showing on the previous scan has now all gone.

@susie12345 I was trying to reassure you not scare you 🙈 I had two miscarriages and my work kindly paid for me to go privately to see a consultant. He said my uterus was heart shaped and that he could go in and have a look and correct it. Anyway thankfully it wasn't as bad as he thought and he didn't need to do anything. He said it was highly unlikely the uterus shape caused the MCs. I know plenty of ladies who have a heart shaped uterus and also have children. Please try not to overthink it.

@Kiki275 I know, very strange the way my appointments have been scheduled. I'm also a nightmare to get blood from! Usually end up bruised on both arms and hands.

@Nisha98 Welcome! I'm 10 weeks today too 😊 Good luck with your scan tomorrow!

@rhiiila I don't really have any symptoms either - just bloating and maybe more tired than usual. I'm not even going to the loo more frequently and I sleep through the night. It's such a worry but I just had my 10 week scan and baby is fine! Do you have your scan date yet?

@susie12345 we haven't had sex since we conceived and I really can't imagine anything worse whilst pregnant lol. Thankfully my DH is equally freaked out by the thought of having sex whilst I'm pregnant!

susie12345 · 11/12/2019 19:44

@RedRobin7 i know you were trying to reassure me, i dont think i will be able to calm down until i know for sure what im dealing with or until i have my baby in my arms safe and well.

I cant imagine having sex at the moment im so scared it will cause a MC although i know thats not how it works but i cant help worrying. Luckily my partner is ok for now to wait lol

RedRobin7 · 11/12/2019 20:08

@susie12345 I know what you mean. I feel guilty I've now had 4 good scans and I'm still not over the moon or jumping for joy. I'm of course very happy and it's all I've ever wanted but I'm still scared to believe it. Glad we all have each other to get through it together!

I've heard of lots of ladies bleeding after sex and that it's normal but I know it would worry me. I'm also too tired to care haha!

LisaxMarie · 11/12/2019 20:44

Yes we’ve had sex once since I found out. There’s no bleeding but awful cramping after. I worry about my lack of symptoms too. Other than tiredness and very mild sore boobs there are no other signs!

Really hoping I’m just lucky to not be throwing up!

Dafs123 · 11/12/2019 20:50

@RedRobin7 that's wonderful news! Hope it's reassured you. Not long till that 12 week scan now x

Doingitagain37 · 11/12/2019 21:27

@susie12345 I dont think it's a bad thing that's it's hard to tell, it means your wimb is expanding as it should. Its interesting for me as my first baby was in my right horn , this one is in the left so I am a little more worried I think as i know the right can "do its job" but I'm trying to just relax, after all stress is one of the worst things AND it won't change the outcome, I know its difficult but do try not to worry

susie12345 · 11/12/2019 21:47

@Doingitagain37 i was told my baby is also in my left horn! I dont really know what it means but imagine that the baby is in the corner basically, i cant imagine how its going to grow in there? That is why im also worried. Its nice to know there is someone who is going through the same thing, we can support each other :)

AutumnDazed · 11/12/2019 22:42

Hi all, hope everyone is doing well. Could I ask for your guidance please. My wife’s NHS scan date came through for 7th January. Based upon the start of her LMP that would make us 13+4 on that day, but the early scan we had at the weekend just gone suggested we were a little further ahead than we thought and advised we were 9+4 on that day, meaning we would be exactly 14 weeks on the date of the NHS scan. As I understand it they need to undertake a nuchal scan by the 14th week so we are concerned we may be too late for that with the date given to us. This is our first pregnancy so I’m just wondering if you had any thoughts on whether it’s fine as it is, or I need to look at getting the scan re-booked. Thanks!

peanutfoldover · 11/12/2019 23:18

Hiya AutumnDazed.

I think it’s a tricky time of year because Christmas pushes everyone along by at least 3 days and then factor in most people take more annual leave and the service is running on minimal staff.

I would feel no guilt in asking if you can have a scan at 12/13 weeks based on LMP (I think it’s unlikely they will take a private scan prediction into consideration). They may put you on a cancellation list or offer you a location that’s a bit further away.

If you don’t ask, you don’t get.

Wayekalb · 12/12/2019 07:41

@AutumnDazed mines been pushed along until I'm 13.4 weeks. I haven't rang up as I'm guessing it's because of Christmas. I'm sure it will all be fine though! Xx

Wayekalb · 12/12/2019 07:42

I have an addition to ice cold milk! Can not get enough of the stuff! I mean I say I have addiction now.. it will probably make me feel sick next week but for now it's amazing!!! Grin

AutumnDazed · 12/12/2019 07:44

Thanks both :) Yeah, if we hadn’t had the private scan we wouldn’t even be questioning it as the dates would have worked out. I’m sure it’ll be fine, thanks again!

Secondsop · 12/12/2019 12:56

Hi everyone, feeling a bit down cos I went for my early scan and it’s all looking v uncertain - they said it was consistent with 5-6 weeks gestation which I can understand (am 8 weeks going by LMP) as I have a long cycle and have always been dated back at scans, but there’s no embryo visible - just yolk sac. I am going back in a week for a re-scan but then I go away for 2 weeks so if it’s not viable I’ll have to manage it when I’m away.

susie12345 · 12/12/2019 13:34

@Secondsop hi i was in similar situation, i went for an early scan and was told there was a yolk sac but nothing else (no fetal pole or heartbeat), i was told i was around 5 weeks but i thought i was 6 weeks. Had to go back after 2 weeks and was so worried for the whole 2 weeks. Had the second scan on tuesday and there was a heartbeat! Try not to worry (i was told the same thing but still was very worried), at 5 weeks you wont see anything there apart from a yolk sac. I think the fact there is a sac is a good sign. They also called it uncertain viability which freaked me out but they say this until they see a heartbeat i think. Stay positive im sure you will see progress in a week on the other scan :)
