Anyone due July 2020

Hi all,

Anyone due July 2020? Sorry if I've missed a thread, done a quick search and couldn't find one...

DH and I were due to start TTC for #2 in the new year, but haven't been actively not-trying. Well something was just niggling at me over the weekend, I just 'had a feeling' if that makes sense... did an FRER yesterday and there it was! that second pink line...

I'm equal parts excited and batshit scared haha. I've not told DH yet, it's his birthday on Tuesday so going to break it to him then.

I had nhs early scans due to bad pains/bleeding etc & it said in the early pregnancy unit that no scan pictures would be given. My guess is that every hospital is different x

RedRobin7 · 08/12/2019 08:50

@AutumnDazed That's great news, so pleased for you! I hope your wife can relax a little knowing there's a baby in there with a heart beating away. I know it doesn't stop the anxiety though. I think I'll be anxious until I have a baby in my arms!

@Essexgirlupnorth Welcome! So sorry to hear about your MMC, I know how you're feeling. I've had two losses and it sucks not being able to have an early scan on the NHS. I was bleeding last week so EPU would see me for a scan but I had to wait for a couple of days, I ended up paying privately to see my consultant as I couldn't bear the wait. It's been an expensive journey!

@susie12345 I'm definitely going to be gaining lots of weight too. People are commenting on how much I'm eating lol.

Ladies just wondered what part of the country you're all from. We don't need to go into detail but would be nice to know if anyone lived close! I'm near Reading, Berkshire.

susie12345 · 08/12/2019 09:12

@RedRobin7 great idea, i was also wondering if we could ask where everyone was from to see if anyone was close.
I am near Huddersfield - West Yorkshire

LisaxMarie · 08/12/2019 09:39

I’m from Cornwall :)

PixieN · 08/12/2019 09:40

I’m in the midlands x

susie12345 · 08/12/2019 10:24

@LisaxMarie i will ask them if i could have a picture and see what they say. I do have a private scan booked for 23/12 so will get pictures there anyway so can share the news with my mum.

I did a pregnancy test today and its still saying pregnant, i guess that should be good news for tuesday scan right? Im still worrying they will say there is something wrong

Mummy2020 · 08/12/2019 16:23

Is anyone else really struggling with the nausea? The anti sickness tablets have stopped me vomiting so everyone around me is like ah you’re back to normal then (apart from my mom) and I’m like noooo i feel horrendous! The nausea is almost worse than the vomiting because at least I had a bit of relief now and again😢

Dafs123 · 08/12/2019 16:40

Glad I'm not the only one feeling huge! I'll admit Iv had a nose at maternity clothes. Boohoo have some lovely stuff and really reasonable.

I'm from Liverpool xx

showmewhatyougot · 08/12/2019 18:25

I'm 9 + 2 and I was all smug a few days ago thinking I was over the worst of the nausea and had a few days where I didn't feel sick at all, but the past 2 days it's been back full force, all day with nothing helping! Angry

I can't wait for this phase to be over!

peanutfoldover · 08/12/2019 19:21

I had a 24hour break from the nausea and then it came back. I can only eat plain, beige food when I’m not feeling nauseous. Ice cold ginger beer is nice.

Wayekalb · 08/12/2019 20:52

@Mummy2020 I'm still sick every morning even though I wake up an hour earlier to take my first sickness tablet. I constantly am heaving at any smell. It's horrible :(

LisaxMarie · 08/12/2019 21:57

@susie12345 I know how you feel. I was worried sick waiting for my scan! I’ll be thinking of you on Tuesday. Please let us know how you get on x

susie12345 · 08/12/2019 22:46

@LisaxMarie thanks of course i will.
I really hope to see the heartbeat! My partner and i argue a lot at the moment so dont think it helps :(

LisaxMarie · 09/12/2019 09:16

Oh bless you. It will be such a relief for you when you do get to see it. I cried my eyes out when I did. I know it’s hard but try to stay positive x

Nelbert19 · 09/12/2019 12:09

Ah hello everyone, I lost the thread for a while!

Great news @AutumnDazed, I’m so pleased! I’ve got a scan this afternoon to see if a foetal pole has appeared yet so getting very nervous.

Still no word from my community midwife either, so I’d be going mad by now if I hadn’t had to go to EPAU for an early scan!

I’m from Cardiff

Kiki275 · 09/12/2019 13:55

I cannot stop eating. I'm like the big hungry caterpillar, except I won't turn into a butterfly, just Jabba the Hutt!x

Nelbert19 · 09/12/2019 16:19

Just back from my scan - nice strong heartbeat and measuring 6+3 (we’d thought we are 7 weeks today!)

@Kiki275 I’ve been the same with food - hoovering every carb I can find! Starting to feel queasy over the past 2 days, but still can’t stop thinking about food!

Rainbow2020 · 09/12/2019 18:16

This sickness is out of control I can't keep anything down at all!!! I've rang doctors for some anti sickness tablets!! Really hoping they work!! I can't go all the way like this it will ruin the pregnancy!!!

Kiki275 · 09/12/2019 20:26

@Nelbert19 Snap! It's all I think about and the queasiness started late week. I was really blasé as I didn't get many symptoms in early pregnancy last time so not enjoying it now x

Kiki275 · 09/12/2019 20:28

@Rainbow2020 hope they help. If they don't, ask to try some others x

Secondsop · 09/12/2019 21:16

Evening all. I am still struggling with my blood sugar control but it’s getting there. I am starting to feel nauseous now (hurrah) and have gone off my food. Wondering whether to try to self-refer for a scan on Friday because next week I go away for 2 weeks and if something is wrong I think I would rather know. The midwife said I would need to pay for a private scan unless I had pain or bleeding, but the consultant said I could just self-refer for reassurance. I have had 3 miscarriages so you’d think it wouldn’t have been much of a problem for me to get one

Nelbert19 · 09/12/2019 21:46

Consultant trumps midwife I’d say 🤷🏻‍♀️

She’s right though - in the absence of pain and bleeding and with ‘positive’ symptoms of nausea and difficult sugars, it’s very unlikely somethings going wrong. Saying that, I thought early scans were the norm after MC 🤔

Either way if you’re going to have a really difficult time without the scan, just self refer (and name drop the consultant) - worst they can say is no!

Pregnancy is maddening!

Secondsop · 09/12/2019 21:52

My main concern is that if something isn’t right, then I don’t want to be dealing with it when I’m 2 long flights away from home over Christmas with sole charge of my 2 other children. And I was so unwell with my last miscarriage. I’m surprised the midwife didn’t refer me to one. Esp as I am 44 years old and the chances of things being well are the same as the chances of them not being well.

LisaxMarie · 09/12/2019 23:23

@Secondsop I phoned the epu directly and booked myself in. Just told them the doctor advised me to contact them directly

susie12345 · 10/12/2019 08:51

Just been for my scan and all is ok!!! Seen the tiny heartbeat and mylittle bean! They think im 7.5 weeks. My uterus is heart shaped tho so they will apparently have to scan me more often later on to make sure baby is developing ok, but she said its quite normal and not to worry. They also found some fibroids but again said unless they get bigger not to worry. Im just so happy my little bean is ok at the moment :) x
