Anyone due July 2020

Hi all,

Anyone due July 2020? Sorry if I've missed a thread, done a quick search and couldn't find one...

DH and I were due to start TTC for #2 in the new year, but haven't been actively not-trying. Well something was just niggling at me over the weekend, I just 'had a feeling' if that makes sense... did an FRER yesterday and there it was! that second pink line...

I'm equal parts excited and batshit scared haha. I've not told DH yet, it's his birthday on Tuesday so going to break it to him then.

I had my booking appointment at 6+1 and will have bloods etc done when I’m 9+4. Just waiting for a scan date. Didn’t take partner to first midwife apt it would have been pointless really you just need to know any conditions x

mimiroo1 · 05/12/2019 13:59

So I just spoke to my local hospital and they never received my referral. I've had to self ref online. They said they will look out for my form and try to see me before 9w4d as. Thank you so much for your help ladies.

Secondsop · 05/12/2019 14:58

@1sttimemum20 if your partner does go, bear in mind the midwife will want a bit of time with you on your own because of some of the questions they ask to make sure you are safe at home (routine questions they ask everyone).

@mimiroo1 glad you’ve got your referral - mine only took a couple of days to get the letter (I’m also London) so it’s definitely not the case that you have to wait till 12 weeks.

OlivejuiceU2 · 05/12/2019 15:11

Got mine tomorrow! Will be 7+2. Taking my partner as I think it’s important for him to be involved and to be honest he expects to be able to come to all my appointments, he’s just as excited.

Wayekalb · 05/12/2019 15:25

Had my midwife appointment today. All went ok. Didn't take my partner. She did my bloods and showed me that all my notes are on an app so no need to carry around the notes anymore. Said I needed to me consultant led because of blood transfusions after my first child. I really want to elect for a c section as the thought of going through labour gives me anxiety. I know a c section isn't an easy way out but after a traumatic first birth I just can't do it again!

Ethellsmum · 05/12/2019 16:16

I’ve another 2 weeks til I see the MW and won’t be taking dh with me. He only really ever comes to the scans, though did once come with me with to my sweep.
The nausea has eased a bit this week but the tiredness has whacked up a bit.

Rainbow2020 · 05/12/2019 17:27

Had my first midwife app today. Scans booked for New Years Eve I'll be 13 weeks then. I will be consultant led due to medical history xx

Goldington · 05/12/2019 17:29

@Rainbow2020 glad everything went okay and you have a scan date! Did you mention loss of symptoms?

Rainbow2020 · 05/12/2019 17:35

@Goldington yeah but she said they can come and go.. and boom I have them back like a vengeance today 🤮

Goldington · 05/12/2019 17:57

@Rainbow2020 haha! To be fair I had a wobbler on the train this morning! Felt horrific and cried when I got off because it was so hot and overcrowded!

PixieN · 05/12/2019 20:11

I had my booking in appointment at 8 weeks as that’s when the Drs surgery said the midwife preferred to see you. It took an hour and I didn’t take DH. He’ll be at all the scans though.

@Wayekalb I’m pretty sure I have tokophobia as I’m terrified of birth (and pregnancy is pretty scary too for that matter). I went to see my Dr a couple of years ago while TTC as it was giving me huge anxiety and is one of the reasons I put off getting pregnant for so long (I’m late 30s). I’m waking up early most mornings and I think it’s anxiety. As it happened it took us 3 years and a round of Ivf so this baby is desperately wanted, but the thought of labour freaks me out. I’ve already mentioned the possibility of elcs, but will need to speak to the consultant. Sorry to hear about your traumatic experience 💕 I think you will have more of a case if you’ve been through it before x

Mummy2020 · 05/12/2019 20:16

@Ethellsmum I think mine will just come to scans too due to work. Doesn’t make them any less part of it or not as excited does itGrin ah I’d happily take tiredness over nausea now. Although I think my anti sickness tablets are starting to help thank god!
@Wayekalb my hospital does it on an app too it seems strange! Ah bless you, if knowing you’re going to have a section is going to put you at ease then your doing the right thing for you and baby! X

Wayekalb · 05/12/2019 20:29

@Mummy2020 @PixieN
It's hard as I know it's not the easy option but I had such a horrendous birth that I'm petrified. It led to me having horrible anxiety and even Post traumatic stress. Sounds crazy from a birth but trust me it was bad!!
Did the whole birth reflection thing but it was pointless. I said never again but I can't leave her to be an only child so wanted to try again. I'm fully aware a c section isn't easy though . It's hard knowing what to do. Midwife seemed to think I'd be fine to have a normal birth but the thought makes me want to cry!

Mummy2020 · 05/12/2019 20:41

@Wayekalb you have to do what’s right for you hun xx

PixieN · 05/12/2019 21:28

@Wayekalb has your midwife referred you to anybody? If it’s causing anxiety and affecting your mental health, it sounds like you should be referred to a perinatal mental health team to discuss your worries and these should be listened to and taken seriously. I would also do some research ready for when you see your consultant so you can show you’re aware of the risks and choosing the option that is right for you and your baby x

Secondsop · 05/12/2019 22:21

I’m feeling thoroughly fed up today - my blood sugar control is proving extremely difficult even with increasing amounts of insulin (before pregnancy I wasn’t even on medication let alone insulin and my hba1c was tested very recently and was perfectly fine, so pregnancy has made it absolutely rocket). My levels are as bad as a week ago when I was on zero insulin or medication so god knows what my placenta is playing at. And now my ankles have started swelling today. Am on a cocktail of blood pressure medication, blood sugar medication, the usual pregnancy pills including an extra large dose of folic acid, a tiny aspirin. But weirdly I feel surprisingly well in myself. Which is also not always a good sign as it could mean my blood pressure is high and I’m in fact enjoying the adrenaline! And my bras all hurt, and I am sure my colleagues all suspect something as I didn’t drink at our dinner tonight and someone asked me why I left my blue cheese.

peanutfoldover · 06/12/2019 04:59

Well I feel horrendous. 7w2d. Constant nexuses and a headache for 3 days now. Falling asleep with it, waking up (Very early) with it. I work full time and have a 5 year old. Genuinely don’t know how I’m going to get through this! I don’t even have the energy to cry 😢

peanutfoldover · 06/12/2019 05:17

Nausea that should say

Wayekalb · 06/12/2019 07:52

@PixieN no she didn't refer me. I mean it's not effecting my mental health yet as I'm
Not thinking about it but closer to the time I imagine I'll be in a right mess. I'll speak to her at 16 weeks. Xx

susie12345 · 06/12/2019 08:21

@Wayekalb i would recommend asking to be referred to perinatal mental health team they are trained to support pregnant women around anxiety and other mental health issues.

I feel absolutely horrendous today. Constipated and even tho i went for number 2 i am sooooo bloated i look 6 months pregnant (i am only 6 or 7 weeks)!!! My bowels are constantly making noises and i feel horrible. Is there anything i can do to make this better? Before i had diarrhoea a lot as i have IBS. Never thought constipation would hit me so bad!!

RedRobin7 · 06/12/2019 08:30

@susie12345 I'm also constipated! I'm going to get some fybogel, it's a natural high fibre drink and see if that helps!

Kiki275 · 06/12/2019 08:32

@Wayekalb did you have a full debrief after your last birth?

C-Sections aren't the easy choice, but you have the full advantage of knowing exactly what is going to happen. If you can get the support in place afterwards then it's definitely worth considering. I had an EMCS last time, but wouldn't opt for an ELCS this time as my DH can't take paternity leave, so I'll need to do everything all the nursery runs x

Kiki275 · 06/12/2019 08:40

@RedRobin7 @susie12345 not sure if either of you plan to BF, but you can get big bottles of Lactulose cheaply at the chemist. It's safe for use during BF so good to have in. You might find your IBS clears up a lot during pregnancy, mine and several others did x

Secondsop · 06/12/2019 09:59

Morning all. Hope those of you with tricky symptoms are feeling a little better. I woke up feeling what I can only describe as Really Pregnant. Exhausted, back pain, crampy pelvic pain, like I’m running a fever, and starving. Relatively good news is my blood pressure was stable and my blood sugar, although not within the target yet, is finally responding to treatment and starting to come down. The diabetes clinic is brilliant so I do feel in safe hands there.
I told my boss this week because I’ve had so many appointments come in, plus if something happens she’ll need to know then anyway. I’m sure she will be unable to keep it to herself but never mind.

Rainbow2020 · 06/12/2019 12:27

Has anyone had a cervical stitch put in b4 if so how do u go about it?
