Hi everyone! I can't find a May 2020 group yet. Most of you don't even know you're expecting yet. I'm due May 1st and got my bfp on 9 dpo. So I'm only 3 weeks 3 days. I feel like I may be lonely in here for a little while.
Looking forward to being joined by other mummies to be :)
This is my 3rd pregnancy. 1st was 7 years ago and I have a 7 year old son. 2nd was 5 years ago which ended in a m/c feeling positive for my rainbow.

@flossy12 www.nhs.uk/common-health-questions/pregnancy/is-it-safe-to-use-hair-dye-when-i-am-pregnant-or-breastfeeding/

Hope that helps :) I would make sure your colourist knows and they will be able advise you too xx

Caspianberg · 30/09/2019 16:36

9+3 here now.
Sickness so far lasted 4 to 8 weeks, then stopped the last week or so , so thats been nice.

Now having cravings! Peanut butter on toast for breakfast is new, i usually only eat peanut butter maybe 2-3 times per year. Have eaten every day the last week. Also crunchy apples...mmm.
Haven't been able to stand tomatoes or anything tomato-based since the beginning of pregnancy.

Anyone else having random cravings or food avoidances?

flossy12 · 30/09/2019 16:57

@Moonstone12 that does help! Thank you 😘

Mystie · 30/09/2019 18:24

@Caspianberg I'm living off peanut butter!! Had it for breakfast and dinner today. Made a chilli for everyone and felt so sick while cooking it couldn't even touch it so stuck to my crunchy peanut butter on toast! Yum

november90 · 30/09/2019 18:26

@flossy12 I queried this with my hairdresser with my first and she said that they would only take caution if you've never had it died before or if it was bleach to your skin. I'll be getting mine done on Wednesday and I have colour on my head but it's not bleach and I've had the same colour for about 10 years! You should be absolutely fine :)

flossy12 · 01/10/2019 00:36

@november90 that's great then! Yeah mines not bleach just a high lift cause I don't want to cause my hair unnecessary damage 😆 it won't be on my scalp either just midway to ends 😊

Hi All, i seem to be waiting ages for the midwife to call me for my booking appointment, i filled out a form at the GP last Tuesday and they put it in a tray and said the midwife will collect it, i cant help but worry someone has misplaced it- its hardly a fool proof high tech system. From my dates i know I'm between 6 weeks and 6w+5d (i know when we had sex as OH has been away a lot). Its my first and i'm 40 and i'm nervous to be under some kind of medical care even just knowing i have an appointment booked. It just doesn't feel real yet. How long did other have to wait for the midwife to call?

Moonstone12 · 01/10/2019 15:22

@calmcat it took over 2 weeks for the midwife to call me for my appointment. Try not to worry too much. Maybe if you haven't heard by next week you could give them a call? Most areas won't see you till 8-10 weeks for booking in anyway XX

calmcat · 01/10/2019 15:27

@moonstone thank you, that's reassuring.

mininionsteve · 01/10/2019 16:29

Just had my booking in appointment. Assuming all is well I've got a consultant appointment to discuss vbac and have been assured that il have a presentation scan towards the end to check there's no breach again.

Now to hold on for 3 weeks and scan time. Glad the balls rolling now just hope it's all going ok.

Skiaddicted · 01/10/2019 16:38

@mininionsteve I'm considering vbac too! Allowed a water vbac here too which makes it more tempting

Caspianberg · 01/10/2019 16:44

Hi everyone, Does anyone know anything about recommended weight gain in the first trimester?

I had first scan at 6+5, they asked weight and i said around 50kg. This is what I have been give or take a few for whole adult life. they didn't seem concerned. Went home, weighed myself for the first time in ages and was 51kg.

Anyway, now 3 weeks on, I weighed myself and Im 49.5kg. I have been nauseas for weeks, but haven't actually been sick. And have been eating a similar amount to usual (plus now peanut butter daily as new craving). On checking the NHs, they say this gives me a BMI of 18.2 and is underweight apparently. They also say should gain 2 ish kg by the end of 12 weeks.

Do you think this is something i should check at appointment next week, or should just even out over time?

mininionsteve · 01/10/2019 16:46

@Skiaddicted ah wow that's amazing. I don't really know what they offer here. I would have gone for a water birth with ds1

I would like to vbac as I only had an emcs due to undiagnosed breach.

Fingers crossed for us.

Skiaddicted · 01/10/2019 20:46

@mininionsteve I'm aware I'm very lucky with them allowing it locally, she said they have people have them at home realtively often.....I'm not up for that level of risk

My elcs was amazing im just conscious of recovery with dc1

TwinklyTwinkle · 02/10/2019 12:56

The morning nausea has started to hit me hard these past few days. As someone who doesn't get ill very often...I'm not coping 😂 It's so annoying feeling like I could be sick imminently..but it just never comes 🥺

Coastaldreamer · 02/10/2019 14:27

@TwinklyTwinkle I feel your pain. I've been sick each morning then I just "feel" sick for most of the day and can only eat when I get to that Starving point!

Got my booking in appointment in 2 weeks and then the private scan on Sunday.

Did you/ are you ladies taking other halves to the appointment ??

woollycat · 02/10/2019 17:27

@TwinklyTwinkle Same here! I thought I'd get away without it but nausea started a few days ago and each day is worse than the one before :( i throw up once in the late morning but feel sick throughout. I asked my GP about anti-nausea pills, he said they'd only prescribe them if I can't keep any liquids down. This is so bad, I am just lying around all day and eating a third of what I normally eat, and each meal is a struggle.

TwinklyTwinkle · 02/10/2019 18:00

@woollycat exactly the same as me!! Having the tiniest breakfasts in the morning before work because I can barely face anything and then forcing lunch but feeling like I could heave at any moment! It's horrible because I want to eat but just can't face it! I thought I'd gotten away with the sickness too 😔 I keep telling myself I'm fortunate because at least I haven't got Hyperemesis, but I still feel pretty terrible!

@Coastaldreamer I wondered the same about my booking appointment! I wasn't going to take my husband because I've heard they're pretty boring and apart from his family history, he won't get asked or see anything, but he has the morning off work now by chance, so is coming anyway!

Skiaddicted · 02/10/2019 18:37

Partners are welcome i think at booking in but yeah theyre pretty boring, DH came last time but didnt this time and i didnt feel he missed anything

Caspianberg · 03/10/2019 08:36

@Coastaldreamer- My Dh came to my last appointment which was at almost 7 weeks. They did a scan then so he saw the baby, heartbeat etc and the consultant explained everything. I think he would have been disappointed to miss that. Next appointment is next week at almost 11 weeks and he will come again.

mollysmummy1970 · 03/10/2019 11:10

I'm taking my partner with me to my booking app. Just incase there's something I don't remember to tell them. His work have been really good with him getting time off so far anyway as they know I'm a high risk pregnancy.

AmIseeingRight · 03/10/2019 12:17

hi Ladies,

I haven't posted in a while, joined the FB but its too much for me & some of the posts are just OTT.

9w5 today and my scan is in 2 wks. had really bad sickness, even started to throw up but its gotten better, but boobs are killing & huge.

I do worry and just praying my little bean is growing and developing daily. I think hormones give my paranoid anxiety.

hope everyone is doing well Smile

mintbear · 03/10/2019 15:21

@AmIseeingRight
Hello again, I haven't joined the Facebook book and I often wonder how the early posters are.

I've had my booking appointment (straight forward, history, bloods nothing exciting) and I had a private scan.

We saw the heartbeat but to be honest I'm still struggling to get my head round it all.

Everything seems to be progressing as it should, which means I'm feeling and being sick, totally exhausted, boobs are massive and the whiff of coffee makes me want to vom.

Sounds like you're much the same which is reassuring that everything is moving on as it should.

I've also become a grizzly dragon and the dh is doing a pukka job being kind when I snarl at him.

We've got similar due dates so it's good to touch base with someone around the same stage x

Sunshine8888 · 03/10/2019 15:29

@AmIseeingRight and @mintbear hi I’m 9+4 today so very similar to you. Weeks 8-10 have been a struggle! I cannot wait to finish this trimester. My scan is a week today so far too early but they insist on doing it from LMP and on that I’m 11 weeks today. But I know I’m not because I was measuring at 8+6 on Saturday 🤷🏽‍♀️ I had long cycles after coming off the pill so that explains it
