Hi everyone! I can't find a May 2020 group yet. Most of you don't even know you're expecting yet. I'm due May 1st and got my bfp on 9 dpo. So I'm only 3 weeks 3 days. I feel like I may be lonely in here for a little while.
Looking forward to being joined by other mummies to be :)
This is my 3rd pregnancy. 1st was 7 years ago and I have a 7 year old son. 2nd was 5 years ago which ended in a m/c feeling positive for my rainbow.

@Coffeeandpixiedust oh thank you!! I thought I'd got the date wrong 😅 but should be alright then 😂🤞🏻 I've got a private scan next Saturday anyway cause I'm over anxious and curious to see if the tests are telling the truth

Sunshine8888 · 22/09/2019 09:55

@november90 that’s why I booked a private scan because if something was wrong I wanted to know sooner rather than later. I think with ectopic the pain is usually in the tip of your shoulder and you would likely have bleeding x

Sunshine8888 · 22/09/2019 09:56

@flossy12 I have a private scan next Saturday too! 🤞🏻 our little babies are growing well x

november90 · 22/09/2019 10:16

@Sunshine8888 I've got a scan booked privately for a week on Tuesday but I just cannot worry about this until then :( I have a doctors app at 11:30 so hopefully I'll get some reassurance!

Coastaldreamer · 22/09/2019 10:20

@Sunshine8888 @flossy12 how many weeks and days will you be when you have the private scan?

I was going to wait till 8 weeks but I'm not sure I can wait that long 😬

november90 · 22/09/2019 10:39

@Coastaldreamer mines booked for 8 weeks, although due to availability I'll be more 7! The lady recommended 8-10 weeks, I imagine that's because there's more to see at that point!

ChaoticKate · 22/09/2019 11:05

@mintbear I had the sharp pain when sneezing last pregnancy and it’s just started again. Your ligaments start to loosen and stretch as the baby grows and it’s just linked to that. Google round ligament pain, it’s linked to that, although the actual pain comes more in the second trimester. Nothing to worry about, I get the same sharp pain when I roll over too quickly in bed.

Sunshine8888 · 22/09/2019 12:46

@Coastaldreamer I will be between 9-10 weeks 🤞🏻 All being well. I also had a scan at 6 weeks. I’m an anxious person and can’t bear the long waits between scans x

mintbear · 22/09/2019 15:38

@ChaoticKate
Thanks, that reassuring.
I cannot believe how many physical changes there are early on!

november90 · 22/09/2019 15:42

So I've been waiting in hospital since 12:30 and I've just been seen. I had an internal exam and I've been told that because it didn't hurt I should be ok. I've had a blood test done and apparently if I don't hear anything back then it's fine.... but if I do there is an issue.
I'm not massively reassured but at the same time feel better for getting some advice!
I think I'll be a bit on edge for the next few days :(

flossy12 · 22/09/2019 16:35

@Coastaldreamer I'll be 7+2 ☺️☺️

Skiaddicted · 22/09/2019 20:12

MamaGothel · 22/09/2019 23:00

Hi all
Feeling very nervous tonight. I have my scan in the morning. Should be about 5 weeks and hopefully they will be able to confirm the pregnancy is in the right place. Unfortunately I don't have anybody who can go with me and I'm dreading it being bad news and having to do a fairly long drive home.
Anyway, fingers crossed for good news.

If this goes well I'm going to look into moving hospitals. I have a small hospital that does antenatal 10 minutes away from me and the hospital that does deliveries is 20, but having changed GPs I have been put into a hospital 35 minutes away for both. I'm pretty sure they come under different Trusts as well, does anybody here know if I have a good chance of being able to swap?

FirstTimeMama91 · 23/09/2019 07:36

@MamaGothel good luck for your scan today 💕 we're all with you. Keep us updated x

november90 · 23/09/2019 07:54

@MamaGothel good luck at your scan! It's so normal to be nervous, but those feelings will come and go and all being well you will walk out feeling on top of the world! If you get a pic pls share as I'd love to see it :) I'll be thinking of you today!

@Skiaddicted aww thanks for asking! They said because my internal exam didn't hurt I should be ok. They did a blood test and said they will get in touch if there's an issue so I'm not overly reassured.... but I suppose they know what they're doing and I'm best to take their word instead of causing myself stress!

Felt super tired and sickly last night. All night I was talking myself into calling in sick at work... but I have another 6 weeks of work and hiding it so I'm best to hold out 😬

MamaGothel · 23/09/2019 10:06

Thank you both, they did see what they think is a sac in the uterus but I didn't get a picture. They said it's still too early to be sure and they want me to do more blood tests to make sure my HCG is rising correctly. I get the feeling that things could go either way but doesn't look to be ectopic which is good news!
I have faith in my little sac. I think it's going to pull through Smile

AmIseeingRight · 23/09/2019 14:34

@MamaGothel you can self refer to the near hospital. I changed last time at 24 weeks and this time i just booked myself into the hospital i wanted. there should be a number / email you can use.

for those who were asking about the flo app - you have to change the settings from - "displaying of weeks to completed" it defaults to current and that puts you a week ahead.

Skiaddicted · 23/09/2019 18:21

@november90 fingers crossed you dont hear anything then! Sounds an response by them though

mollysmummy1970 · 23/09/2019 19:27

God I am struggling today, I am so so sick! I feel so awful, I have no idea how I'm going to get through work this week. Sorry for the moan just feeling very sorry for myself 😭

mintbear · 23/09/2019 20:24

@mollysmummy1970
I'm exactly the same so I hear ya!
I went to docs and they've given me cyclizine for sickness as I've gone from feeling sick to being sick. So far so good, so if it gets really bad that might be an option.

TwinklyTwinkle · 23/09/2019 23:00

@mintbear @mollysmummy1970 how many weeks are you both? Hope the sickness eases up!

Do any of you do any exercise/gym classes? I go to a bodypump class (weight lifting etc) and I'm just wondering if it's still reasonable to go? I'm waiting for my appointment with the midwife to ask but Google seems to say it's ok in the early stages? I just don't want to risk anything..

Another weird question for you all.. what positions are you sleeping in? I'm used to sleeping on my belly and really trying to stop..is anyone else struggling?

november90 · 24/09/2019 03:22

@TwinklyTwinkle I was told with my first that you can maintain the exercise you did before but you shouldn't over exert yourself to the point where your heart is racing or your sweating. . I do believe that you should avoid weights that go over your heard though... not sure why... that's just what I was told! I think it's the risk of injury/pulling something. I use to love going to gym but I'm too scared of risking anything :( Yesterday I had a sickly free day and went on the static bike at the gym for 30 mins as I am so worried about getting really unfit and miserable but at the same time, I was so sickly this weekend there's no way I could've gone!

Caspianberg · 24/09/2019 06:56

Morning, how is everyone getting on?

Regarding sickness, I have been so nauseous, tired and lightheaded from week 5-8. Saturday was week 8 exactly for me and the sickness seemed to disappear overnight. So a few days of Nausea free, hopefully this lasts and is maybe what some of you will also find happens.

However, Since Sunday I have developed a 'cold'. The sickness has been replaced by cough, not being able to breathe and headache. I didn't realise until i read up that apparently your immune system basically goes to pot when pregnant. As it needs to not reject baby, so is crap at rejects germs also. So thats a wonderful thing to add!

I do hope once this cold clears, I and all of you don't spend half the winter with the leargy.

@TwinklyTwinkle - im still hiking hills and walking. I was hoping to do a pilates class also starting next month. Its a small, 10 people max class, with the instructor tailoring to you, so im hoping they will let me.
