Hi everyone! I can't find a May 2020 group yet. Most of you don't even know you're expecting yet. I'm due May 1st and got my bfp on 9 dpo. So I'm only 3 weeks 3 days. I feel like I may be lonely in here for a little while.
Looking forward to being joined by other mummies to be :)
This is my 3rd pregnancy. 1st was 7 years ago and I have a 7 year old son. 2nd was 5 years ago which ended in a m/c feeling positive for my rainbow.

Hi all, I am new to mumsnet and new to all of this. I'm 40, this will be my first and on Friday my period was 3 days late so i tested and then nearly died of shock (good shock) as it was positive but it was an old sainsburys test. I bought another test and tested saturday morning and it was also positive. Told my other half whilst crying hysterically, god knows what he thought i was about to tell him. He just laughed and cuddled me. I am so thrilled but also terrified as i thought i had left this too late. I cant quite believe it. Due May 2020 according to the calculators I've used. I've just been exhausted which i had put down to work and now have occasional crampy feelings but apart from that fine. I feel like i'm dreaming all this.

@mintbear I might need to ask for something when I'm back at the clinic as I'm really struggling. I just want to sleep as that's the only time I feel OK. Apart from last night I was up at 4am

@twinklytwinkle I'm 7+4 today, just hoping that it eases off soon! I'm still sleeping on my tummy also. My last pregnancy I only stopped once I started getting a proper bump as it wasnt comfortable any more.

I have another scan in 2.5 weeks so I'll be 10+2. I need to tell my parents before I go away with them and my sisters to Belfast as I won't be drinking. So going to take my little boy with us so he can see his brother or sister for the 1st time 🙂 I'm so excited to see his wee face he's been at me for ages about having a sibling lol.

TwinklyTwinkle · 24/09/2019 16:00

@calmcat Congratulations!! That's so exciting for you both!! Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy!

It's been so lovely having people here to talk about it all with! 😊 You're all keeping me sane haha!

Cleozeta · 24/09/2019 16:38

Congrats @calmcat! Good to see another 40+ on here. I'm 42, will be 43 when I (hopefully) have this one.

Is anyone else on progesterone? I've just contacted my clinic to request some more as I think I'll need to take until about 10-12 weeks, they've agreed the prescription and asked if I wanted to collect from there (it's miles away) or have a private prescription to collect locally, so I chose locally. They said ok and that was the end of the call. Now I realise I don't have the foggiest idea how these private prescriptions work or where I would collect, so I have no idea!! They were a nightmare to get hold of all day today and I ended up answering the call-back in the school playground! (Hence not thinking to ask obvious questions)
Anyone have any idea what happens with this?

AlmostAlwyn · 24/09/2019 19:50

Congratulations @calmcat! That's lovely!

Had my first scan today! All looks good! Measuring at 13mm and 7+4. Next appointment in 4 weeks so fingers crossed everything grows as it should! Smile

november90 · 25/09/2019 08:31

Feeling a bit concerned guys.. other then exhaustion and semi soar boobs I've lost my pregnancy symptoms :( so worried something may have gone wrong :(

AlmostAlwyn · 25/09/2019 08:49

@november90 Please don't worry! Your symptoms are not a good indicator of anything really! They'll naturally change as your hormone levels fluctuate. I don't have any symptoms at all really, but still saw baby's heart beating away at my scan yesterday Smile How far along are you? When's your first appointment?

Coffeeandpixiedust · 25/09/2019 08:51

@november90 other than being tired and a positive test I have no symptoms and my last pregnancy was the same until about 20 weeks when I couldn’t brush my teeth without gagging. Try not to worry x

woollycat · 25/09/2019 08:57

My symptoms are also pretty on and off, and I see lots of others have no symptoms or fluctuating symptoms. Please don't worry @november90!! Stay positive and cherish this magical time - that's what I keep telling myself :)

november90 · 25/09/2019 08:58

@Coffeeandpixiedust @AlmostAlwyn thank you, I needed to hear that! I'm about 6, almost 7 weeks. I had a really sickly weekend but yesterday and Monday I've been totally fine, feel perfectly normal! I have an early scan on Tuesday and I'm just so worried... I just don't want anything to go wrong!

november90 · 25/09/2019 09:15

@woollycat sorry I missed your post before! Thank you for the kind words. I would be giving the same advice to someone else as you guys have, but it's just so worrying! I'm almost praying to few I'll which is ridiculous 🤦🏼‍♀️
A family member is about 6 weeks ahead of me and she has been so sick and we have all known about it if that makes sense! I think it's made me feel like something must be wrong with me but I'm reality I'm not that much of a sicky person so it does make sense!

Thanks for the support ladies 💗

Cleozeta · 25/09/2019 10:00

@november90 it's such a scary time isn't it! But there is more chance of it being fine than not. (Check out the pregnancy reassurance calculator thingy!)
Try to relax (easier said than done I know) and I'm sure next week's scan will reassure you

Skiaddicted · 25/09/2019 10:03

@november90 all my symptoms vanished last time almost overnight, no reason just they did and no issues

I am feeling utterly horrendous, called in sick as i cant concentrate after an awful night with dc1 who seems to know I'm pregnant and has become so very clingy and wanting to sleep on me again.....i love the cuddles but not the kicks or punches

FreeFlowing93 · 25/09/2019 12:14

Hi Ladies, I'm currently 8 weeks 5 days and I'm due the 1st of May. This is my very first child and I'm so excited. My symptoms started a week after I conceived and haven't went away since I even had a little stay in hospital due to it all but I had my very first scan at the hospital on Monday and everything is great! Nice to meet you all.

AlmostAlwyn · 25/09/2019 12:31

Welcome and congratulations, @FreeFlowing93! Sorry to hear you've been suffering, but good to know everything is on track Smile

FreeFlowing93 · 25/09/2019 12:37

@AlmostAlwyn thank you congratulations to you also. Exciting times ahead for us all.

Mystie · 26/09/2019 10:55

Hi everyone, really happy to come across this group. I'm around 5 and a half weeks with my 4th (1st with new partner) although have had some dark bleeding today, hoping it's nothing to worry about as haven't had any pain. Due around 24 May Smile

Mystie · 26/09/2019 10:57

@Cleozeta I'm 43! Pregnant with my 4th, great to have some 40+ mums to chat with x

Cleozeta · 26/09/2019 14:09

@mystie great! You are around the same as me too, I'd be due around 23rd I think. I hope it works out for both of us! Have you been having many symptoms yet?

Mystie · 26/09/2019 14:44

@Cleozeta ahh great to know we are due around the same day! I haven't had loads of symptoms although my taste buds have definitely changed, gone of sweet stuff which is so unlike me. No real sickness yet although have never really suffered with morning sickness in the past so hopefully this being my 4th pregnancy my symptoms will be milder! How about you?

I have had some dark coloured light bleeding today which has worried me a bit although no pain so trying not to worry too much. Had a scan on Monday at the EPU and sac looked fine and was measuring at 5 weeks or just under so no yolk sac or HB visible. We've got to go back on Monday the 7th October to confirm viability. It's going to be a long wait but hopefully all will be well.

Cleozeta · 26/09/2019 18:24

Did you go to EPU because of earlier bleeding or was todays the first? I've heard of a lot of people who had bleeding in first trimester and all was fine so hopefully nothing to worry about.

I've had a few symptoms, mainly nausea and sore boobs, and tiredness replaces the nausea after I eat. Symptoms seem to be getting stronger so hopefully thats a good sign. Not counting my chickens yet after 2 mc last year though.

Mystie · 26/09/2019 19:21

@Cleozeta I had some pain and brown discharge on Sunday, was totally convinced I was losing it as have never bled or had anything like it in any of my pregnancies previously. We booked a private scan on Sunday at a really dodgy clinic in Edgware we had to go through a mini cab office to get to the clinic and the guy who did it didn't seem to have a clue, except to tell me that he couldn't see anything so I'd probably had a missed miscarriage (as we thought we were 7 weeks from LMP) When I started crying he asked me why I was crying, the whole experience was terrible and cost us £120 as well! Anyway we went to EPU on Monday fully expecting the sonographer to say there was nothing there but instead she said I was measuring 5w or just under and said that it was too early to tell if it was viable or not. We'll know for definite on 7 October but we're staying tentatively optimistic until then!

mollysmummy1970 · 26/09/2019 20:14

@Mystie that's absolutley awful!!!! I'm so sorry u had to go through that, there are some horrible people out there!

Mystie · 26/09/2019 20:26

@mollysmummy1970 thank you, it definitely wasn't an experience I'd want to repeat! X

Cleozeta · 26/09/2019 21:26

@mystie oh no! Thats horrible. So glad you managed to get to EPU and get a more realistic (and humane!) Approach. Fingers crossed for you that all will be fine at next scan
