Hi everyone! I can't find a May 2020 group yet. Most of you don't even know you're expecting yet. I'm due May 1st and got my bfp on 9 dpo. So I'm only 3 weeks 3 days. I feel like I may be lonely in here for a little while.
Looking forward to being joined by other mummies to be :)
This is my 3rd pregnancy. 1st was 7 years ago and I have a 7 year old son. 2nd was 5 years ago which ended in a m/c feeling positive for my rainbow.

@TwinklyTwinkle You can sleep in any position that's comfortable! It's only back sleeping which should be avoided where possible when baby gets bigger and their weight can press on an artery behind your uterus (about 20 weeks or so). Get comfortable while you can! Smile

mintbear · 24/09/2019 07:11

@TwinklyTwinkle I'm 8 weeks today. Sickness started around 5 weeks but stepped up a gear at 6 weeks.

I was seeing a pt twice a week to build up my fitness but I've not been able to go recently as I've been so ill. Planning to get back on it when I'm not throwing up all the time but I won't be going at it as hard as I was before.

TwinklyTwinkle · 24/09/2019 07:42

Thanks guys! I have so many questions in my head right now about everything before I see the midwife and I find that when you Google things, you just get conflicting information so just wanted to see how you guys were feeling about everything!

@AlmostAlwyn
@november90 I kinda feel the same about the weights, I'm just terrified of risking it! I only joined the class about 2 months ago and was really enjoying it and the instructor is so lovely! But I might tell her that I'm going to bow out at the moment because it is pretty strenuous! I might just take up a lot more walking like you suggest @Caspianberg! I'm a real eater and don't want to let myself go completely just because I'm pregnant haha!

@almostalwyn Thankyou! My friend told me sleeping on your belly wasn't good in the early stages but I haven't found anything that confirmed that! Luckily I'm not a back sleeper at all!

@mintbear Aw I hope your sickness gets better! Throwing up constantly at the moment sounds awful 😔

TwinklyTwinkle · 24/09/2019 07:43

Oops sorry, tagged you twice by accident @AlmostAlwyn!

woollycat · 24/09/2019 08:12

Hi all, I am currently 5 weeks 4 days pregnant and excited to have found this group!

My first NHS antenatal is booked for the 10th week and I don't know when the dating scan will be after that.

Are people going for private scans before? Which week is a good week to do that and do you have recommendations for where to do it in London?

Caspianberg · 24/09/2019 08:17

@woollycat - I had a scan at 6 weeks +5 days, and it was really clear. Heartbeat there, scan and everything in the right place. I have the next scan at 10+4.

helpasisterout · 24/09/2019 09:02

Anyone else at 5w3d? Feel really down today as having lots of twingey cramps and my previously excruciating boobs have faded to only mildly tender to the touch😓 can't help but feel this isn't good! Had a mc in July so all a bit fresh!

Got booking appointment at 7w on 4th October so can't really do much until then can I?!

Hope everyone is feeling well x

Cleozeta · 24/09/2019 09:36

Helpasisterout - I am 5w 3d today too. Also extremely anxious as I had 2 mc last year at 10w and 5w. Am constantly checking my boobs to make sure they still hurt! I find it's up & down. Sometimes agony and sometimes not too bad. I also love it when I feel a little nauseous as it's so reassuring.
My 1st mw apt is also 4th Oct, so not long. But I do find time goes so slow, day by day, almost waiting for something to go wrong.
Will you be having any early scans? I'm not sure this time as I did last year and saw a heartbeat, but baby stopped growing the next day, so I'm not sure I'd get much reassurance. I may just wait it out this time.
Do you have many other symptoms?

mininionsteve · 24/09/2019 09:40

I told my boss yesterday, just to ease the pressure because I'm so anxious I can't concentrate. She was so excited it was lovely! Had more muscle pulling which has totally freaked me out! Really hoping I'm just over analytical. Put my name down for the midwife so hopefully she'll be on the phone soon to get the ball rolling. Finger crossed everything is ok.

helpasisterout · 24/09/2019 09:53

@Cleozeta that's good to have someone with same dates and timescale as me! I have been looking into early scans but like you not sure how much I would get from it, but as booking appointment is quite early I will mention my anxieties to the midwife in the hope I could perhaps be a candidate for an early NHS scan.. as I don't like the idea of going private and having to take that information to midwife to be dealt with IYSWIM?
Other symptoms are the very occasional 5 minutes of nausea, some lower back ache, 3pm lack of motivation and energy and some dizziness when getting up quickly, also notices by average bpm on Fitbit is now 66/67 where it always averaged 62/63 before but that's probably just because I am on edge 24/7🤦🏽‍♀️ what symptoms have you been experiencing?

woollycat · 24/09/2019 10:08

@helpasisterout @Cleozeta I am 5w 4d - nausea has only started literally yesterday, but it is very mild. Boobs are also only mildly sore since a couple days ago. I also noticed HR going up on Fitbit - it went from 62 to 72 this last month!
Thinking about an early scan at 8w.

Cleozeta · 24/09/2019 10:09

@helpasisterout symptoms very similar to yours, but it's all very up & down. I can feel crap one minute and fine the next.
I also did cb digi tests weekly to make sure it was all on track, which thankfully it was. But once you get past 3+ it doesn't get any higher, so hard to keep track after that!
I think I will mention to midwife too about anxieties. An NHS scan would be great if we could wangle that!

Cleozeta · 24/09/2019 10:14

@woollycat my nausea is quite mild too, but definitely there, particularly when I am hungry!
8 weeks would be a good time for a scan as I think the biggest dangerzone is up to 6 or 7 weeks. I think I made the mistake of going too early last time!

november90 · 24/09/2019 10:14

Hi guys! I feel a bit reassured by your comments. I felt so sick this weekend, particularly Saturday and Sunday night but then absolutely fine yesterday and not bad today! I was worried about the sudden change but perhaps my body is just being kind to me for a few days!
I'm not really a sickly person and pms wise, I'm normally symptomless so I suppose we all react differently! I just hope everything is ok.
Private scan 1 week today and I expect I'm be about 7 and a half weeks!

helpasisterout · 24/09/2019 10:29

@Cleozeta I got my BFP on a digital with weeks indicator but too scared to buy anymore to keep a check on things... I need to man up!

Cleozeta · 24/09/2019 11:03

@november90 yes we are all different and symptoms definitely fluctuate. I'm sure you'll be fine! Good luck with your scan.

@helpasisterout yep I was bricking it when I did mine, but it's soooo reasuring when you get the result you are looking for

woollycat · 24/09/2019 11:14

I am getting menstrual type cramps every now and again, all the time (since missed period really which was 2 weeks ago now) - anyone else?

flossy12 · 24/09/2019 11:17

@helpasisterout me and OH are the same hun don't worry 😅 I wanted to get another test to see if it was still showing up positive but OH said to just wait for our private scan 😅

flossy12 · 24/09/2019 11:19

@woollycat hey hun can't say where's good in London as I'm up north, however I have a private scan booked in for a few days before my holiday at 7+2 just to check everything is Ok before we tell parents ☺️ got my booking appointment at 11 weeks 😌

helpasisterout · 24/09/2019 12:15

@flossy12 I hope that our future child inherits DP's patient nature because that's exactly what mine said! Where as I am climbing the walls!

flossy12 · 24/09/2019 12:18

@helpasisterout haha I know 😂 we are both normally the same and when we want something we want it now! 😂😂 but I think incase there is something wrong the longer it is before we know the more he could ignore it if you get me?

TwinklyTwinkle · 24/09/2019 12:47

Welcome @woollycat! I'm 5 weeks and 4 days too! I've had really sore boobs but no nausea or sickness! I'm still waiting for my midwife to call me to let me know when the booking appointment will be 🙂

I didn't realise getting early scans was quite common! My anxiety is starting to creep everyday because I'm getting excited and I just want to start looking at names and buying stuff but I'm holding back! This is my first time being pregnant though so I'm just trying to be patient and stop worrying about the worst 😔 it's hard though!

Is anyone from Wales? Or Cardiff in particular?

Sunshine8888 · 24/09/2019 13:12

Ladies I really don’t recommend taking more pregnancy tests! I took one at 8 weeks and the line wasn't as dark as when I first got my bfp which freaked me out! Having fallen into the google black hole I think that as you get further into pregnancy the high levels of hcg can distort the test - that’s what I’m trying to tell myself anyway 😬 ! Save yourself the stress xxx

woollycat · 24/09/2019 13:23

@TwinklyTwinkle it's my first pregnancy too! I am really trying to stay positive and patient! I am a bit unsure about doing that early test at 8w but I am not sure I can go on for many more weeks without any reassurance that all is going well.

TwinklyTwinkle · 24/09/2019 13:37

@woollycat It's so hard isn't it! I wish they did scans at like 6, 12 and 20 weeks or something!
