Hi everyone! I can't find a May 2020 group yet. Most of you don't even know you're expecting yet. I'm due May 1st and got my bfp on 9 dpo. So I'm only 3 weeks 3 days. I feel like I may be lonely in here for a little while.
Looking forward to being joined by other mummies to be :)
This is my 3rd pregnancy. 1st was 7 years ago and I have a 7 year old son. 2nd was 5 years ago which ended in a m/c feeling positive for my rainbow.

Welcome and congratulations @StarWanderer & @londonmama3 🎉🎉 excited to share this journey with you all.

My EDD is 3 May but DC1 was due 2 June and born on 28 May. I except this one to come early but the April group was too far ahead for me plus this baby might surprise me and come late 🤣🤣.

@Caspianberg I think 2-3 weeks is fine as you are 4 weeks now, so ur hcg was prob a bit higher and fmu stronger when you tested (there is always a small margin of error). I'm only day/2 behind and today I'm 4wks.

As for doctor I'm seeing my GP next week and I've self referred to my hospital where DC1 was born so should book in there @ 8 weeks. Until then it's just a waiting game.

AmIseeingRight · 25/08/2019 11:23

@PrincessConsuela12 I have the pregnant+ app that I used 3 yrs ago with DC1 and my Flo app is on pregnancy mode. I wanted a babycentre week by week video so was not surprised lol

I'm taking recommendations - any good apps?

BlueberryPoppy123 · 25/08/2019 14:53

@caspianberg mine said the same yet I worked my dates to be less. Sometimes the CB are a bit off may just be you're producing more HCG it says about it in the leaflet I think. Although as your cycles are quite short it could be you're further along than you thought. My last period started 22nd July but as I have 32 day cycles that's what brings me to May 1st. Although I'm thinking I may actually have another April due baby. (No doubt he or she will arrive late like their big brother though lol)
I've already contacted a Dr last Monday. They've booked me in and I'll see the Dr on 2nd September :) she will then refer me to midwife.

Congratulations @londonmama3 and @starwanderer nice to have you join us :)

@AmIseeingRight
I use the what to expect when expecting app. I used it when I was pregnant with my son 8 years ago so it's changed alot since then. But shows you week by week. Says what size baby is each week think this week were as big as a grain of sugar!

I still have a bit of insomnia takes forever to get to sleep about 1am this morning when I went to bed at 9 last night! Wake so many times through the night and was up at 7am wide awake. As usual 12pm rolls round and in like a walking zombie and the cycle repeats lol.
Breasts and especially nipples are super tender! Think I need to double up my bras for more restricted movement lol

@AmIseeingRight I'm using the Pregnancy+ app too, I like the daily updates and the section of baby names.... must remember to not get too ahead of myself but I can't help it sometimes!!

AmIseeingRight · 26/08/2019 09:35

Good morning, how's everyone today?

Took my 2nd CB and got 2-3 weeks so happy coz I'm not 4+ so glad it's gone up from 1-2weeks no lore tests so now to wait to see my midwife.

Now to try and relax for a few days off MN. Smile

@AmIseeingRight I'm still barely sleeping. So awake until lunch time. Had to tell work today as I'm not allowed to move certain machinery or go into infectious rooms any more. They were really lovely about it which was good.

@BlueberryPoppy123 - ah yeah the instruction leaflet. I always only read the first 5 seconds of those.

sofiathe2nd · 26/08/2019 18:26

Hello! Can I join please? Got my BFP today and think I’ve got an EDD of 1st may... this will be my second and I feel exhausted already! Also so worried about things going wrong: have so much cramping which I can’t remember from last time round

BlueberryPoppy123 · 26/08/2019 19:57

@sofiathe2nd welcome to the may 1st club lol most of us seem to have that date.

I booked my scan today! 7th of September. It seems so far away 12 sleeps!!! It's going to go so slow I know it

Congratulations @Woolylamb & @FirstTimeMama91 ThanksThanks

Caspianberg · 27/08/2019 07:24

@BlueberryPoppy123 - Should I be looking at booking in do you think? I was planning on just leaving it a few weeks until nearer possible scan date? Ie calling up at say 7 weeks? I haven't really let it sunk in yet I guess.

Congratulations to all the new additions to the thread.

AmIseeingRight · 27/08/2019 07:27

Morning everyone

Welcome and Congratulations @FirstTimeMama91, @sofiathe2nd and @Woolylamb so exciting.

@FirstTimeMama91 your gut was right 🎉.

@BlueberryPoppy123 are you having an early dating scan or for reassurance?

BlueberryPoppy123 · 27/08/2019 07:43

@firsttimemama91 you knew this month was your month!

@caspianberg where about are you? In the UK you phone Dr as soon as you get positive they book you in for a few weeks later and once you've seen them they refer you to your midwife.

@amiseeingRight yes. I just can't get excited like I want to. I keep crying because I'm terrified I'll have a repeat of my last pregnancy where I turned up to my scan full of excitement to find baby had stopped developing at 4 weeks. I still had all of the pregnancy symptoms there was no sign of a loss. It crushed me and I don't know how I'll get through it again. OH isn't helping. He's just said we can always keep trying if it doesn't work with 'this' one... I can't make him understand how attached you get so fast. I want 'this' one!!

Caspianberg · 27/08/2019 08:19

@BlueberryPoppy123 - No I am not in the uk right now. I know its straight to gp here and not midwife, just assumed at 4 ish weeks they couldn't do anything yet so wouldn't contact. Maybe I will get in touch next week then and see what the exact process is. I have never actually been to the doctor here yet so no idea how even a general appointment and payment works.

londonmama3 · 27/08/2019 08:58

@BlueberryPoppy123 it's such a horrible waiting game, especially when you have been through something as traumatic as you. I had a mc before DS1 and it meant that I could not stop worrying during my subsequent pregnancy with DS1. Unfortunately even the most supportive DHs don't really get how we feel at this early stage of pregnancy. I don't have much advice except to remember that it's totally normal to feel worried.

sofiathe2nd · 27/08/2019 09:15

Yay congrats to @Woolylamb and @FirstTimeMama91 :)

So, serious question as its been a while since I did this last: what do we do now? Is it too early to get booked in with the midwife?

Last time I was pg I was an absolute nervous wreck and had about 3 viability scans before I even got to 12 weeks. Determined to "enjoy" the experience a little more this time.

Also: how's everyone's dh's taken it? Mine is in a total panic, don't think he seriously thought we'd get pg again (i'm a lot older and bigger than I was). Worried he's trying to act happy for my sake

PrincessConsuela12 · 27/08/2019 10:20

I had my early scan this morning and they think they can see the smallest of sacs but because it is so small I have got to have some bloods today and Thursday 🤞🏽🤞🏽

Woolylamb · 27/08/2019 10:42

Thanks everyone. I tested again this morning just to make sure, and the line came up even quicker, maybe it will start to sink in today. I think I’m already feeling a bit sick too, which worries me as ended up off work from 9-22 weeks last time with hyperemesis.

I also had a MC before ds1 and was an anxious mess for most of my pregnancy with him, so hoping not to feel quite so bad this time, but I do already have the chart of how miscarriage risk drops each day so that I can tick the days off as they go by.

As for GP - I think I’m going to wait until next week when I’ll be more than 4 weeks to call. I need a referral to a specialist obstetric clinic rather than just MW so want to call early but just feel a bit embarrassed to ring when I’m only 3+4 Blush.

DH seems happy, I think. And a bit terrified of how we’re going to manage with two when one is actually quite hard work on his own!

Scan sounds positive @PrincessConsuela12, hope bloods all good too!

mintbear · 27/08/2019 10:59

Hey'yall

Someone else on Mumsnet recommended I find a DD chat and here you all are!
This is my first ever pregnancy, I'm 32 and 4wks today. Really struggling with intense cramps (more than just mild) and sore boobs.

We found out last Thursday - scary stuff!

Congrats to all the mamas to be!

LuckyA · 27/08/2019 11:52

Please can I join you lovely ladies. Got my BFP but not sure when I ovulated. Had a mmc so my cycles are still quite erratic. EDD anytime between 29th April-4th May 2020. Very nervous this time but here's to an uneventful 9 months for us all Smile

TummyTurtle · 27/08/2019 12:42

Hi everyone who's just joined with their BFPs! Congratulations!

We told our families over the weekend & they are very excited. My DM, DB1 & DB2 had all suspected for various reasons, but PIL & SIL were very surprised! For some reason they thought we had been implying we wouldn't be trying for another year!

Have been trying to ring the GP all morning but can't get through. I could make an appt online but not sure if I actually need to see the GP or just get referred to the midwife.

sofiathe2nd · 27/08/2019 13:37

I phoned my GP earlier (after about 20 attempts I finally got through) and I have to go and see the doc first and then be referred to the midwives.

Going to try and hold off telling anyone until at least 12 weeks I think unless i can persuade my OH that an early scan is helpful...
