Dead good cos it shows off the pins and arms- being a physio i will never have 'bingo wings'.

Caz10 · 31/07/2007 13:07

Suey2 your dress sounds lovely! I am actually hoping I will have an "occasion" to go to around that time of year, to get a chance to get really dressed up and show off bump like that! Otherwise it will be baggy jeans and jumpers all the way, how depressing!

Speaking of depressing, I am so worried re my scan, it took 5 mins! And my 12 week one was only about 1 min!! My friend told me to expect 20 mins at least for the 20 wk scan, I just think there's no way they can have had a proper look in the time we were in there. For those of you who've had them, how long did yours take? Suey, what kind of things did they say/show you?

mixedmama · 31/07/2007 13:08

Suey - that is stunning.

Unfortunately bingo wings galore here, but am hoping that i will be disciplined enough and have enough time to sort all this out once LO arrives.

Oooh just looked at the pic, beautiful!

BeachBunni · 31/07/2007 13:08

I know Ambi, it's quite scarey how the time is beginning to fly in now. With all the little kicks I've been getting I'm just coming to the realisation I'm having a baby. Swinging from emotional happiness to wtf was I thinking of. Made my first baby purchase today and went all practical and bought a steriliser.

JARM · 31/07/2007 13:08

Hi all

4D scan booked for friday, am very excited.

Baby is already mastering the art of keeping mummy awake all night kicking, can see i have a nocturnal one already!

Hope you are all ok.

BeachBunni · 31/07/2007 13:11

Ooh that dress is gorgeous - what colour did you go for?

Caz10 my scan took about 15-20 minutes, altho she spent about five minutes of that checking all angles of the heart as heart conditions run in my family

suey2 · 31/07/2007 13:23

i went for the pink one- why not
Caz my scan took 30 minutes. They looked at
placenta position
enough amniotic fluid?
head circumference
brain diameter at 2 levels
4 chambers of the heart
stomach
kidneys
umbilical cord
length of thigh
no of fingers and toes
nose bone
spine and ribs
I think that was all, but may have missed something.
peanut was being a bit stubborn and had to be jiggled around for a bit to give us a profile, so may have taken longer for that

MotherofZ · 31/07/2007 13:25

Does anyone feel less excited second time around. First around was really into reading all the pregnancy books, telling everyone all about the pregnancy etc. This time, sometimes it feels like 'oh, am pregnant'.
Don't know why - maybe because life is so more hectic with DD, work, etc

JARM · 31/07/2007 13:26

mother - this is my 3rd - and the novelty has definately worn off! Not to mention that people are bored of hearing it!!

mixedmama · 31/07/2007 13:36

MotherofZ and Jarm - I wouldnt call it excitement this time. I am very into still reading everything and all the birth programmes, but I think I am trying too hard to plan things and do certain things different to the first time. I think DH is defininetly not as excited, up until recently has hardly been bothered at all. Altho as the scan he gets more so as he really wants a DD so perhaps once we get here things will really kick in.

Good luck for today Lizzer, have only just finished reading back over what happened while I was away. Hope everything goes well with the scan.
As for blooming - I wish! I am no longer feeling sick or anything but skin is still not great and I am soooo tired! Also the underside of my bump is quite sore, especially when I have been sitting down - DH says I am already waddling towards the end of the day! MW said it is normal stretching and that it is probably worse/more noticeable to me as its my 3rd.

MotherofZ · 31/07/2007 13:51

The only thing that is really making me excited is the scan, and when i felt the first kicks - that was amazing too.

Was mega shocked when I found out I was preggers. Went to the docs as I had a really bad urine infection and dropped off a sample. Next day got an emergancy call from the doctors telling me not to take the antibiotics they had prescribed as they are not suitable for pregnant women! (What a way of finding out! - good job I hadn't been to the Pharmacy)

thelady · 31/07/2007 15:31

Not excited at all - and this is my first. Just feels like yet another thing to try and get organised on top of work, life etc.... Yes, I'm glad I'm pregnant, but excited is definitely the wrong description for me!

fifisworld · 31/07/2007 15:52

Hello everyone

I had my 20 weeks scan this morning and im having............another boy

For some reason i thought i was having a girl, but im not at all disappointed. The woman who was scanning me was really lovely as well and she spent ages trying to get good pictures for us.
Dp is over the moon, he wanted another boy.
Just a bit gutted that i gave away all of ds's little baby stuff now but i suppose ive got an excuse to go shopping now

suey2 · 31/07/2007 16:02

congratuations fifi

mixedmama · 31/07/2007 16:04

Hello everyone

Had my scan this afternoon and it's another little boy! I'm thrilled and so is dh. Everything else okay - baby at one point was floating upside down with his little tinker clearly dangling down so there was definitely no mistaking it

I think i'm just as excited this time, and full of the wonder of it all still, but just not interested in reading the pregnancy magazines or watching all that stuff on tv.

I need to let them know by 34 weeks whether or not I want to elect for a Section, but after discussing things with the lovely REgistrar i'm inclining more and more towards a VBAC.

mixedmama · 31/07/2007 16:46

Is it me or are there alot of little boys popping up??

BeachBunni · 31/07/2007 16:48

Congratulations fifi.

thelady - it's my first too and I wouldn't exactly say I was excited. It was exciting telling everyone at the start and feeling the first kicks. Now I think I'm more stressed out and nervous about it all.

BeachBunni · 31/07/2007 16:51

Sorry peanutbutter, crossed post. Congrats to you too. Really wish I'd found out pink or blue now

mimicakey · 31/07/2007 16:52

Sorry to change the subject but I'm getting slightly annoyed that men keep telling my dh to avoid being at the birth at all costs! At least three people have told him it's horrible and he should get out of it if he can. Anyone else had that? It's our first as well. He doesn't seemt to be taking any notice and has laughed at it; I've told him he has no choice in the matter, he will be there! But don't you think that's a bit mean of them?

mixedmama · 31/07/2007 16:55

I think that is a little insensitive of them. Are they just trying to be macho men and stuff and jesting??
