Well done Mixedmama! Right def off to bed, book and electric blanket now!

MotherofZ · 25/07/2007 11:20

Hello - all quiet here!!!

Talking about names - hubby picked Hannah for girl and still undecided about boys names.

OP posts:
PeckaRolloverAgain · 25/07/2007 11:36

Buzzybee - like your names

Eva is one of mine

as is Ava

Imogen (nickname Immy)

and

Celeste (nickname Stella)

wht do you think?

skidaddle · 25/07/2007 11:36

mixedmama - LOVE your names, especially ayla, really lovely. Those are the kind of names I like (maybe an Indian name as I am half-Indian) but need to convince dp just like you. Good luck at the mw

night night buzzybee! (like your names too but think I already told you)

We are probably going to call ours Aoife if it's a girl (Irish pronounced EE-fa) but no idea if it's a boy. I like a few Indian names but dp is not keen. He likes Killian (also Irish) but I don't like the thought of naming my child anything with the word kill in it, don't know if that's ridiculous (also ryhmes with Gillian which isn't ideal for a little boy...)

skidaddle · 25/07/2007 11:38

Really like Imogen pecka although it's a bit posh for me (couldn't pull it off with my accent lol)

Caz10 · 25/07/2007 11:40

Thanks mixedmama!

I love all the names along the Eva/Ava/Evie lines, they are so nice, but they pop up in every name thread I look at so now I'm worried that if we have a DD she will start school in a class of 5 other Eva/Ava/Evies!

At our school at the moment it is Emmas - loads of them, and I feel sorry for them as they are never just called Emma, but always Emma R, Emma J etc!

PeckaRolloverAgain · 25/07/2007 11:41

Does anyone think that Imogen is too similar to the name Megan (my DD)?

skidaddle · 25/07/2007 11:44

no think they're fine together pecka

JARM · 25/07/2007 11:44

Morning all!!!

Glad i found you! Justm anaged to get rid of the inlaws - have been here for DD1's birthday, so its nice and peaceful again and at last i can get on the computer!

We are having a 4D scan in august to find out the sex, as we dont get the choice here.

Am 22+2 and feeling fat and frumpy!

Names so far are :

Girl : Emma Charlotte Rose
Boy : James Robert

Beanstermummy · 25/07/2007 11:45

Joy - only having to scroll down a few inches Happy smiles of the day to Mixedmama for doing the link

As for names - still mulling around really - have to do the Scottish bit (think I said ages ago about DD1 being trad Scottish name so sort of feel obliged really). My Mum actaully asked the other day too - desperate for some family connection me thinks!! Thinking maybe Kaitlin or Kirstin (or Kirsty) for girl and Alexander or Jamie for boy. Very old fashioned i know but there don't seem to be any new individual celtic names around. I did sugest Talliesin (Trad Welsh boys name) - shortened to Tal as my Mum is Welsh so I would like to link a bit - but not suprisingly DH poo pooed that one - will wait and see I suppose. Loving Alya and Eva thou (although ex from years ago married an Eve so prob not on that front!!) Does anyone else rule out exes without being specific to partners about reasons - I almost feel like I'm hiding things but must draw the line somewhere!! Just coz I was a loose woman before I met DH and he was sweeet and inoccent doesn't mean I want reminding of it each day

JARM · 25/07/2007 11:47

lol

I love the name Daniel for a boy but DH was put off at first as he was my first love!

We both still really like the name, but James Robert seems to have won hands down!

MotherofZ · 25/07/2007 11:53

Am Muslim, and hubby and I have been toying with the names:

Nael (pronounced Nay-eel for boys name - means achiever)
Daniyal (arabic version of Daniel)
Rais (means leader)

I got picked on at school as my name wasn't traditionally English or 'common' - if you know what I mean, hence choosing contemporary name.

What do you think?

skidaddle · 25/07/2007 12:06

Like them all motherof Z, especially Rais

Beanster - yes me too. I love the name Noah but he was my first love. Dp doesn't mind but I would feel wierd about it, esp as I am still in contact with him and he would think I was some kind of mad stalker!

thelady · 25/07/2007 12:27

If boy: Nicholas Ian (probably)
If girl: not a clue!

We've basically decided to mooch around name books for a while as nothing really grabs us, and we want a name that we both like, rather than one we can live with.

Mega rant: Additions Direct have just kept me on hold for 18 minutes (0870 number!) as they had failed to register my first payment to their new account system, charged me interest, and locked me out of their website.

Frankly, after that, even though their maternity T-shirts are comfy and reasonable, I won't be ordering from them again. I can feel a 'Howler' coming on .

Any recommendations for T-shirts, size 18, that cost less than £8 each, please?

Mrswizz · 25/07/2007 12:28

Morning everyone, I've made it onto the new thread, miracles do happen.

I see everyone is on the name subject again. We are having a marital crisis about it - just can't agree, many arguments.

He wants Willie - i mean how can you do that to a boy? He won't even contemplate Will on its own with Willie as a pet name.

Mrswizz · 25/07/2007 12:30

I feel for you Thelady. I've had a nightmare sorting my pension, on hold for ages then I can hear background noise from teh call centre and nobody talking to me. Obviously they can't be ar*ed listening to a ringing phone.

Lizzer · 25/07/2007 12:30

Hello all! Back from holiday and feeling depressed already We had a great time in Italy, 32oC, sun all the time, oh how I wish I was still by the pool....

However we've got our scan on friday so that's something to look fwd to. Definitely going to find out the sex if we can...

Names, names names...its just so ridiculously hard isn't it?! I like all your names motherofZ, I think they sound different but not too unusual either..

I have to say, Beanstermummy, I don't like the name kirsten purely because tbh I've never met a nice one! (hope I'm not offending anyone on this thread!) Kaitlin in nice though as I like 'kate' for short.

I love Noah too but it just CAN"T go with dp's second name, it sounds ridiculous!!!

Pecka, I like celleste but not imogen so much.. not sure exactly why though....

Ok we can't think of a boys name at all (and I'm CONVINCED its another girl so that's ok -will let you all know on fri) So for our girl's name its a mixture of our maternal grandma's names 'Sadie Rose' I think its stuck at that as we both agree on it and it makes it special (my grandma will be annoyed though as she doesn't like her name but I think Sadie is lovely, quite timeless too...) Its a contrast to dd's name which is very strong sounding.

Lizzer · 25/07/2007 12:35

thelady, I had similar ridiculous problems ordering topshop maternity wear. When it finally arrived I sent it back as the quality was CRAP and not cheap either. Have you tried debenhams redherring maternity wear, I'm not sure if its online but I reckon it will be..... I got a vest top for £6. Its a bit big at the moment but the quality is good.

Lizzer · 25/07/2007 12:36

Yes its here www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryProductDisplayView?beginIndex=0&langId=-1 &storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&categoryId=18859&pageSize=12 The vest top is on the second page

MotherofZ · 25/07/2007 12:48

Dorothy Perkins do good maternity t-shirts, vest tops for who ever was after then.

Anyone know where I can get a nice pair or smart/casual trousers in a colour OTHER than black (i.e something to wear to work, out of work). Really don't want to spend to much for a few months wear.

kerioke · 25/07/2007 13:06

hi all! cor it is nice just scrolling down a little.. though to be honest i havent been on since saturday so have just spent over half hour reading the old thread to catch up.. and now i have forgotten what i read! though i know there were lots of aches and pains, shopping spree's and clear outs and lots of talk about names...

i am certain this twiglet is a girl (though my preference would be another boy, but healthy is the main thing ay?) we have chosent he name EDEN, with NEVAEH as her middle name.. i like nevaeh (heaven spelt backwards).. and so far we cant agree on a boys name.. we did like VANN, but as the boys have middle names begining with an N, we stupidly felt we should carry on this little 'habit' and there isnt a middle name begingin with N that would go with VANN... though now i am thinking of EDEN for a girl or a boy... wow reading back this paragraph ive got really confused! hope no one else has.. feel free to skip lol

i am still feeling soo tired! i read a couple of posts from third timers on our old thread about how this pregnancy wasnt as enjoyable as previous ones and i have to agree. i am very uncomfortable, suffering far worse from indegestion, backache and tiredness... and just feel like each day drags!! but then i have to consider whether its because this is my third pregnancy or is it really cos i have two lively lads at home, one only being 19 months.. hmm!

Beanstermummy · 25/07/2007 13:19

MotherofZ - yet again - try DP - they do linen(ish - cotton really I suspect) trousers (I've got the chocoloate brown and the black pairs) which are smart enought for work - dead comfy and not too dear - £22 I think? Next so one V similar but more expensive.

Kerioke snap on the this PG v ;last one. I feel about 30 odd weeks already and only 21 and a bit. Heartburn, backache, nausea which still hasn't gone etc etc - really didn't seem that bad last time - but with a nutty little 26 mth at home you may have correctly identified the reason Just keep reminding myself why all this is happening and trying not too much to wish the next 4 months away.

happy days though - just discovered that the canteen upstairs at work (whihc is hugely discounted) will do me a Decaf Starbucks - jollies. Really trying to avoid caffine - not for the PG police but coz I've been getting crappy headaches.

Lizzer - Love love love Sadie Rose - DD1 middle name is Rose and loads of people comment on how nice, but traditional. Thinking of Lily or Daisy is Button is a girl for middle name to keep flower theme going

Nbg · 25/07/2007 13:23

Ahh found you all.

Lovely choice of names you all have.

We have no ideas. Actually I'll rephrase that. I have lots of ideas. Dh says no to them all

Just a couple of days behind you JARM at 22 weeks exactly. Sleeping sucks now. I'm having to sleep with a pillow between my legs already, get up for countless pees and turning over is a full on mission!

JARM · 25/07/2007 13:26

NBG - its CRAP! I hate being pregnant - for an hour after gonig to bed, im up and down to the toilet like a yo-yo as well as once during the night at least.

less than 18 weeks to go - HOPEFULLY!!!
