@mynameisMrG I was tempted to re-start my slimming world membership now that I've found out I'm pregnant. I have been on a calorie restricted diet which I don't feel is appropriate now I'm carrying. Has your consultant explained if it will change with your pregnancy?

@Mumof4andahalf @mynameisMrG sorry you have experienced that too but I'm pleased I'm not the only one. It's so strange. I feel totally wiped out today so not sure if it's related. I was physically shivering last night before I got into bed.

Not a lot changes really @TealBug in terms of the actual plan. You can have 2 healthy As and 2 healthy Bs each day. There is less of a focus on speed food, rather free and syns. You have to record your weight loss and show it to your midwife (they have to sign a form to say you are allowed to do it) and if you lose more that 4lb a week they can take you off it. I think that was it really. They will give you a little booklet which explains it and covers breastfeeding as well. This is the third time I’ve been pregnant while going to slimming world and I’ve never been able to get my weight under control. Really want to try and at least maintain while I can and not get any bigger!

Thanks everyone, it's nice to know there's a good reason I feel like crap!

@Bentley111 I've been signed off for three weeks! I haven't even been sick just severe nausea! Im sorry he's been unsupportive

@Anon120 yes your symptoms can continue. I had a mmc in 2015 and my symptoms were fairly consistent then found out mmc at 9w5d. I did not have any sickness or nausea tho. Not much of a reassurance but mmc only happens about 1% of the time!

Is it normal to have a baseline nausea all day? I haven't thrown up this week but I just feel sick all day. It's really grim 🤢 Already getting major anxiety for my scan on the 7th. I've never had a good scan and I feel so stressed about it :(

On the plus side, since starting antibiotics yesterday morning my cramping has almost completely stopped so it was almost definitely the UTI to blame!! Just a tip for any fellow crampers!

DaisyMay25 · 30/05/2019 17:25

@Mirana I'm glad you found the cause of your cramps! And yes nausea all day everyday here, it's awful!

Report
Mumof4andahalf · 30/05/2019 18:21

@Mirana yep nausea here too but not actually sick, I seem to get very odd symptoms

Hi everyone, I'm 5+4 with my first pregnancy and feeling a bit anxious to say the least 😥. I don't really have any symptoms except sore boobs (on and off) and I feel a bit dizzy throughout the day but nothing else. Is that normal at this stage?

Lxx16 · 30/05/2019 19:12

Went to the midwife today and our dates were spot on - 6+6 but new EDD is 19.1.2020!!

Still doesn't feel real! Got our booking app on the 12th June and will be 8+5 then! Gah.

Sorry to hear about all the sickness!! I have flashes of nausea but no sickness (yet), very bloated, weeing all the time and bigger boobs. Crossing my fingers for you all that the sickness subsides soon x

Do you think it's too much to ask for a morning wave of nausea, for reassurance, then the rest of the day is perfect with no sickness or fatigue? 😂

splishandsplash · 30/05/2019 19:39

@BowiesJumper my booking in appointment was with a midwife.
But have been told my labour will be consultant lead and I'll need extra growth scans and checking for diabetes. I was reassured but I didn't realise it meant I was a high risk but the midwife confirmed that.
I'm just a bit miffed and didn't realise it would be such an issue I guess... 🙈

@SleepingStandingUp ohhh they didn't recommend aspirin to me but maybe I'll ask when I next see them.
I'm glad I'm not alone in this I just felt really frumpy after the appointment and felt like I'd been told off. 🙈

I put on 5 1/2 lbs!!! I’m mortified! That’s over two weeks but still!

Bloody bread. No wonder I look six months gone already!

@Marshmallow1992 it's perfectly normal, I've had no actual sickness just tired, sore boobs and feeling nauseous and I had a scan on Tuesday, I was 6weeks 3 days and they detected a heartbeat...we're all born worriers on here xx

I'm too scared to weigh myself @mynameisMrG! I remember i put only about 5lb by about 8 weeks in my last pregnancy and about 10lb by the end of the first trimester Blush

Report
mynameisMrG · 30/05/2019 20:25

I’m quite nervous @CatRash as I put on nearly five stone with my first baby. I hated being that size so I really don’t want to do that again. I’m in control of what goes in my mouth but I am very weak when it comes to food.

I think we could all do with some support in resisting certain foods. I dropped from a size 12 to a size 8 last year, but it took me 12 months and a lot of hard work. I know I will probably exceed that in gain if all ok with bean, so quite anxious!

SleepingStandingUp · 30/05/2019 20:33

@splishandsplash it may depend on your actual bmi, midwife said consultants here like the midwives to start them in it immediately but otm ight be that the cinsultant tells you to.
Midwife has been lovely but last time the cinsultant was a bitch, told me my aim was to put on zero weight the whole pregnancy. Now considering you're not meant to diet properly when pregnant, how do you put on no weight?

I have my first scan tomorrow and I'm just so anxious. I just want to see that heartbeat! I'm so happy to hear you saw the heartbeat and the baby is fine! The spotting and cramping resolved, I just thought it was really weird the spotting came the same day as my expected period. Thank you for your reassuring words! xx

@tealbug I am currently 7+6 and when I was 5 weeks I had that crazy bloating you are speaking of! I had to leave all my pants unbuttoned at the top otherwise I could not breathe. The bloating has gotten better this week though

@bently poor you, that’s horrible when you’re already feeling like crap!
I’ve been signed off for 3 weeks due to nausea and really low Blood pressure, have literally spent 90% of the last 3 weeks lying down, and probably will have to be off next week too.
He needs to seriously educate himself on how different pregnancies can be, even between DC1 and DC2, my sister was bed bound as her pelvis split in week 11!

Checking in, EDD 19.01.2020, this will be my first.
Have my first scan tomorrow and quite nervous but also looking forward to it. I'm hoping this will make it feel more real, and reassure me all is ok.
