Brand new thread ladies! We went through the last one so fast! Let’s hope this one brings us lots of lovely scan photos.

Good luck with the scans everyone!

My booking appointment isn't until June 25th! It feels like forever away and then I'll have to wait again for first scan. Just want to see what's going on in there as my anxiety is through the roof.

@Marshmallow1992 I'm 5+5 and in the same position as you. No symptoms except for achey boobs that seem to have grown overnight. Glad to hear it isn't a bad thing. Guess we just need to enjoy not feeling/being sick haha

I think autumn / winter will be pregnancy jeans with the high waist, t shirts and large wrap over cardigans. I tend to get heat flashes as it is, so I need to drop layers quickly!!

Gonna get my maternity clothes out Sunday and rescue the leggings at least although my hareem pants with elasticated waistbands are saving me today x

@anxiousmotherof1 that's great news

It's still a whole week until my scan, the waiting is killing me. My bloat seems to have calmed down and I'm not as tired so now I'm worried. I know none of this matters but it still makes me anxious.

Hi all,
Just catching up on the thread, I can't believe how quickly it moves on.

I'm 9 weeks tomorrow with EDD 4th Jan

@splishandsplash I had my booking in appointment Wednesday and my BMI was 37 🙈 I've always struggled with my weight and did manage to lose 2 stone in the last year but maybe should have lost more! My midwife was lovely and didn't make me feel bad at all. She's prescribed a higher dose of folic acid and I have a consultant app. With my 12 week scan. I'm just going to make it clear I would like to go back to midwife led care if poss as my bmi is the only reason I'm perfectly healthy apart from that. The midwife also said the consultant will decide if I should take aspirin to reduce the risk of pre eclampsia x

plipliop · 31/05/2019 12:27

My midwife has said to take aspirin to reduce the risk of pre eclampsia.
She also said I might be consultant care again as there are various complications from my first pregnancy.

I'm going to a concert tonight! How will I stay awake past 9?!

Then tomorrow I'm going to a festival.

I must be mad!

Feels like forever until my next scan too! My last one was so inconclusive I have no idea of my dates or EDD. Last Sunday my consultant said she guesses I'm "around 5 weeks" so I'd be around 5+5 right now but really zero clue. Countdown to next Friday! Haven't heard anything about booking in yet but it's sooo early and I'm under hospital care atm so imagine it will be around the 10 week mark for me.

Sickness hitting me hard. Apples are the worst thing in the world (usually love them). Haven't actually thrown up yet but don't think it will be long :(

In terms of snacks I’m quite liking Mini Cheddars, cereal bars and fresh pineapple.

In my last pregnancy I ate quite a lot of Babybels and little blocks of mature cheddar. Don’t have such a craving for cheese this time unless I have it with strawberry jam.

So tired after a run of shit nights sleep. Going in the spare room tonight so I don’t have to put up with DH’s snoring!

Can’t bear the thought of chocolate or coffee at the moment (I’m a real chocoholic so this is very weird). This happened with my last pregnancy too.

I can also recommend the book “Expecting Better” by Emily Oster. It’s quite stats based but gives a really good insight as to risks of things and chances of X happening. It’s split into Trimesters so you don’t have to read it all in one go too. I found it quite reassuring for my last pregnancy.

I’ve broken my tooth. And it’s my front tooth. So I look marvellous! And my dentist is closed until tomorrow. Glorious day.

@mynameismrg it was mostly water retention so I did nothing more than a few epic wees 😂 I'm crap at dieting. I think after this baby we'll be done so I'll concentration on getting back into shape then - it always felt a bit like wasted effort knowing I'd only get fat again when we had another!

I didn't need to buy much maternity clothes first time round. I bought a couple of vests, some jeans and some work trousers - I stayed in normal, loose fitting work tops throughout. By the end of my pregnancy (at 38 weeks) I could wear nothing but joggers as my legs were so insanely swollen with water. They were maternity joggers though! I'd advised buying maternity clothes when needed as you don't know how much your shape will change yet.

Snackwise I'm loving salt and vinegar crisps, salted cashews, boiled eggs and cherry tomatoes.

*weren't maternity joggers

First time round I didn’t need maternity clothes until around 18 weeks. Quite a lot of non-maternity loose or stretchy things fitted me for ages. This time round I’m expecting to need the clothes sooner!

I was just in Next buying something for my DS and i’m excited to buy new baby clothes! If we have another boy, I’ll reuse as much as I can but will still buy a few new things. If it’s a girl, will need to sort out the gender neutral baby grows but will need a lot more new things.

@megganonion omg I can't believe how alike we are!! I came off my pill on 04/04/19 and we got our BFP on 04/05, when I took a dating one on 05/05 it said 1-2 weeks since conception so going on that I'm assuming I'm about 7+2
Though this is our first child! We have an early scan on 9th June to find out how far along we are, which is 9+3 after stopping pill Grin

Hi everyone!
I've dipped in and out of this thread due to anxiety that I was on my way to a second miscarriage. I have hardly had any symptoms - not even sore boobs! I started spotting pink a couple of days ago with some mild cramping and I was absolutely sure it was over for me. Got referred to EPU for a scan this morning and saw a heartbeat! I couldn't believe it. They have estimated 6+1, my LMP makes me 6+4 but we reckoned that I ovulated a bit later this cycle as didn't get my bfp on a FRER until the day I was due.

Just a bit more reassurance for those of you with very few symptoms. I only had sore boobs last time with my mc all the way to 8 weeks so I'm guessing that I just don't really get symptoms this early on.

I've just got my midwife booking in appointment through the post, I'll be 11+4 by then, it seems awfully late. I've had IVF and a previous miscarriage I would have thought I would be seen earlier? Also they will make the 12wk scan appointment during the booking in so who knows when that will be. I feel a bit let down . I'm not really sure what I'm expecting but that seems very late.

Report
mynameisMrG · 31/05/2019 17:19

When is it @LillyLeaf? Can you call and ask for an earlier appointment?
