Thought we had better start a new thread - wonder if we'll see some (more) babies arriving on this thread...

Hi all, haven't posted in ages (last post 25wks ish?) but have been lurking. I've had a really lovely boring pregnancy despite being on fragmin for a blood disorder after 3 early miscarriages. I have loved seeing all these gorgeous babies finally arrive 😍 amazing how varied everyone's experience has been. There are some strong amazon mamas here Grin

I'm currently 39+5 and getting a bit fed up. Mucus plug firmly in place, and as of yesterday baby only 1/5 engaged. I'd love an early induction tbh but they are irritatingly not worried about me and won't do it until 40+10

cravingmilkshake · 17/07/2019 06:24

Hi all,

Not sure whether tmi, but I've lost my mucus plug! Hopefully fingers crossed things start happening soon!

whyohwhypart2 · 17/07/2019 08:59

@cravingmilkshake oh you lucky thing!! I'm envious 😂Get that baby out! looking forward to hearing the news of your new arrival in due course, excited for you!

thedust · 17/07/2019 09:19

@cravingmilkshake no such thing as TMI between pregnant women 🤣 hope things progress well!

I'm 40+3 today and feeling utterly fed up. We even tried the induction via sex route last night and nothing. Had the Clary sage in my diffuser, bouncing on the birthing ball, raspberry leaf tea for weeks. I know my baby will come when my baby is ready but...

Giraffe888 · 17/07/2019 09:48

@cravingmilkshake good luck! Looking forward to baby news x

@thedust hope you’re ok and it’s not too much longer!

I feel quite lucky knowing we know when our baby is coming and not waking up everyday wondering if today is the day. I’m a bit of an organised/control freak who likes to plan so not knowing would drive me mad! X

BeckyButterfly · 17/07/2019 14:27

39 weeks today and just got back from a failed sweep appointment ☹️ MW said that she could reach my cervix and that it has thinned right out which is good. She also said baby is fully engaged and her head is very low but cervix is still closed. So she needs it to open up a little before she can do the proper sweep. I have another one booked in for next Thursday then induction booked the following Wednesday when I'll be 41 weeks exactly. They don't let you go past a week overdue where I am which I find odd.
Looks like she's hanging on in there a little longer. Two days left at work!

SerenaOverjoyed · 17/07/2019 18:35

@thedust I think the sex induction might be a vicious rumour spread by pent husbands/partners 😅 this has definitely not worked for me! Neither has a nightly curry.

@BeckyButterfly sorry about the failed sweep, but it's great baby is engaged. I'm surprised envious they offered you a sweep before your due date. The 41wk induction seems a bit keen too. I'm in awe you're still working! I'm 39+6 and I've been useless for weeks.

BeckyButterfly · 17/07/2019 18:49

@SerenaOverjoyed yeah, they are very eager where I am. You can have a sweep from 39 weeks then they automatically book your induction at dead on 41 weeks. If you refuse it, they refer you to a consultant at the hospital and they get all arsey with you 😂
I was determined to keep working until this Friday so I'm proud of myself for making it. Everyone at work kept telling me that there was no way I would keep going so I think I've managed out of spite haha.

thedust · 17/07/2019 21:44

Our trust just does sweep offered from 40 weeks and offers induction at 40+10 or increased monitoring. I have booked in for my induction at 40+10 which is a week today but hoping I won't need it. Back at the midwife on Friday for my 41 week appointment but I'll be 40+5. Going to accept the sweep offered then but I didn't last week.

I keep watching the number of posts on this thread go up and wondering if I'll have a baby before it's full or not! Tried the Clary sage bath tonight. I know my baby will come when my baby is ready... But still! Wish I knew when that was! I've been off work for nearly 6 weeks now because I finished at 35 weeks 😫

Jxtina86 · 17/07/2019 22:39

@thedust you have my sympathies on the waiting! I finished at 35 weeks and was crawling the walls by 40! Really hope your baby makes an appearance soon!!

stephn88 · 18/07/2019 07:43

How's everyone doing? Hope you're all well Grin

Congrats to all the new mums, so exciting! Grin

My waters broke at 10.30pm last night, but no sign of contractions or labour! But I am in hospital with reduced movements, waiting on midwife to let me know the plan for the day..... will hopefully have a baby by the end of the day 🥰

Yukka · 18/07/2019 19:50

Hi ladies, well we were right, tuesdays bloody show resulted in baby Yukka, born fast and furious at 3:41 this morning weighing 6.15.

It was nuts, given we've spent 9 months planning for a long induction, arrived at hospital at 2am for pain relief, next thing I knew was being rushed to the delivery ward, I was 9cm and needed to push.

Too late for pain relief other than gas and air, but I can say what a hell of an experience, it was animalistic the way my body took over.

I'll catch up with everyone else soon, hope you are all well, not long to go for everyone else xx

Giraffe888 · 18/07/2019 20:13

Congratulations @Yukka absolutely beautiful xx

GiGi18 · 18/07/2019 20:27

Congrats @Yukka sounds intense! What a gorgeous baby 🥰 looks like you're home already - enjoy your newborn bubble! Xx

thedust · 19/07/2019 08:44

Congratulations @yukka! Hope things are going well @stephn88

Still bloody pregnant 😩 40+5 now. Getting fed up of being asked 'any signs?' 'you ok?' every day. At the midwife today at 12, think I'll ask for a sweep. At least that should give me some indication of how my cervix is doing I guess.

whyohwhypart2 · 20/07/2019 11:19

@Yukka look at that beautiful little bundle 😍so perfect and gorgeous, congratulations.

Hope everyone else is doing ok and not too demented waiting on the imminent arrivals!

Capybaras · 21/07/2019 03:50

Congratulations everyone! Sorry I dropped off last week - baby Capy arrived on the 14th after an unplanned home delivery. We enddd up spending a few days in hospital but home now!

How's everyone getting on?

thedust · 21/07/2019 06:59

Congrats @capybaras! Still pregnant here...41 weeks today.

cravingmilkshake · 21/07/2019 09:12

I lost my plug on Wednesday and still nothing! 40 weeks today and my due date!!

I am so desperate to meet her ❤️

whyohwhypart2 · 21/07/2019 11:54

Well today I'm 40+1 and woke up at 6am with what feels like contractions. Seems like they're coming about every 15 mins or so and lasting around 20-30secs. Perhaps it's just braxton hicks though....hhhmmm.

Better get the contraction timer on the go Grin trying not to get my hopes up too high just incase it turns into nothing!

BeckyButterfly · 21/07/2019 18:12

Congratulations Yukka and Capybaras!

39+4 here and still no signs whatsoever 😂 I have pretty much resigned myself to having to have the induction on the 31st.
I managed to make it to the end of term though so did my last day at work on Friday! Now I don't know what to do with myself. I was enjoying keeping busy with work. Now I have time to sit around impatiently, I think I'll be joining the rest of you in wanting baby to make an appearance as soon as possible! I'd been so focussed on staying at work until Friday that I was hoping she wouldn't come along early, now I would be more than happy to go into labour at any time 😂

cravingmilkshake · 22/07/2019 16:48

40+1 today- can someone get this baby out of me 😅

Capybaras · 23/07/2019 02:13

Oh that's so frustrating @cravingmilkshake especially in this heat! If it helps my baby is nocturnal so I'm craving sleep right now!

How's everyone else doing? Gone quieter on here - suppose a fair few have had babies now and busy! Still loads of time left for July babies!

twickersmumtobe · 23/07/2019 09:06

Wow so many updates and babies since I last checked in, congratulations all of you, hope your new world is good and not too badly sleep deprived x

I hit 40 weeks tomorrow, been having a few braxton hix (I think) each evening, fingers crossed baby will make a move soon 😊

I've been trying to help out with various things I've been recommended: pregnancy massage, raspberry leaf tea, pineapple, dates, spicy food. Anyone else got any recommendations?

thedust · 23/07/2019 09:53

Well, I'm now 9 days over. Induction booked for tomorrow. Had about 3 hours of contractions yesterday afternoon (not just BH) and thought it was all kicking off but then it just stalled. Even called husband home from work because I was in so much pain. Nothing since about 3 o'clock yesterday. So frustrating. Been keeping active, going for walks, having naps, bouncing on my ball... nothing. This baby is having us on!
