Caroline- took your title to follow on the horsey theme!!

No idea what I'm having. Wanted to find out but DH didn't and as it meant we'd have had to pay for a private scan we didn't bother.
What about you?

Feeling very fat, slow, unable to bend and downright bored now!

Can i just get this non pregnancy rant out of the way?
Today is the first time in WEEKS that it is actually sunny and hasn't just lashed it down, so I have put a load of washing in and now it has finished but I can't put it out cos there is a bloody seagull baby (quite big, not a cute thing) in my back yard, having got lost from next door but one's roof, so if I go out I will get bombed by it's low diving parent.....aaarghhh...

Anyway, apart from that, all ok here, baby very wriggly today....and yes I'm worried that I will be the only one here on Monday too!!

Ooh sounds like there's lots of action this weekend. Is it a full moon? Don't worry tiggsy, I think I'll still be here after this weekend.

I'm getting fed up with the constant phone calls. Have my friends forgotten that within hours of finding out I was pregnant DP was on the phone to them all letting them know the news? I only held off telling my workmates until I'd let my boss know. Yet everyone seems to think it'll slip my mind.
I wouldn't mind so much but I'm not even due till the 19th! I'm impatient and everyone is making it so much worse. I know it's because they're interested, but it really wound me up last night.

LO was doing the samba between 3 and 5am this morning, then had hiccups for a good half hour, I hoped it might be trying to turn around, as it's laid with its back down my right side, but no such luck. Does anyone know if its position is likely to cause problems for me during labour? The midwife hasn't said anything, but I know a few of you have mentioned about crawling round on all fours to get it to move.

Afternoon all,

I have had a sleep and feel equally dopey now! My tummy is like a steel ball and doesn't seem to be relaxing. Its like one long BH and very uncomfortable. My due date isnt until the end of the month so I'm really jealous of all who are due before!

Okay, here's another rant for you...what is it that makes people want to 'see a pregnant woman'? My Mum keeps calling to tell me that her friends are saying 'We haven't seen her'! 'Oh get her to come round' and my Mum seems to think I have nothing better to do than to parade around like a prize seal 'showing myself' to people!

I just want to sit and veg and be left alone!

bilblio · 14/07/2007 17:55

I'm glad you did that rant Myfairone. That was the other one I wanted to do but resisted.

We moved here 2 years ago, almost all our friends and family live 35-40 miles away from us, but we've had regular trips back to see everyone and we had a spare room for them. Thanks to my sleepless nights we've not been going up there much for the last few months and they haven't been here either, so the only people I've seen for months are my parents or work mates. Then suddenly this past week we've been inundated with visitors. There's been someone here every other day.

It's great to see them... but I want to sleep!!!

No signs of anything going on here so I'll still be here after the weekend. Think they may have to smoke him out in the end.

MIL is still waffling about tidying my house but I can't be bothered arguing anymore so I'm going to let her get on with it.

Very eventful day out JAM. How fab to get blue lighted somewhere. The kitchen sink was put back at about 10.30 last night and have been getting on with washing today while it is sunny.

DP is now out with his friend. DD is staying with me and MIL is taking her friend to the play instead. Don't think I'll go into labour this evening so I was panicking over nothing. May enjoy Casualty and Jekyll and get a nice early night. Enjoy the time to myself while I can.

Miaou · 14/07/2007 18:17

Wow JAM, now that's an interesting way to spend the afternoon - hope the real thing is not so eventful!

I am starting to get bored now - the baby's head is more engaged so my pelvis is getting really sore now, and I've got almost permanent backache which makes me waddle (and I so hate the waddle look!). I'm running out of things I can do whilst watching all the things I can't do pile up around me! Very hard not to feel guilty about the dds too as I can't really take them out and about to do things. We are still going swimming a few times a week and dh is going to take them to see Harry Potter on Monday (they are hoping to go by bus). I am still knitting dd1's sweater but it's not very inspiring - just chugging away at it though for lack of other things to do!

Just for a laugh I am taking bets on how long my labour is this time - thread in childbirth section - helping to keep my spirits up anyway!

Hello everyone.

Just wanted to say Congratulations to those of you who have your lO's and good luck to you who are still waiting.

Thanks for updating the stats with my DD - she's nearly 2 days old and is quite simply wonderful

I went 13 days over in the end, but she was out in an hour so I have nothing to complain about!! xx

Myfairone · 15/07/2007 11:02

Oh Foxy, you waited long enough but popped her out nice and quick! Glad to hear that all is well...

Okay, well I am starting off the day with yet another rant....

Mum calls me early this morning with the usual 'anything happened?'..told me she had taken 3 different telephones to their bedroom incase I called (2 mobiles and a house phone!!)...I let that one go but then she starts to tell me that she is going to be looking after my cousin (next week) but is afraid to leave me, so they will be coming here 'incase anything happens'.....please, please, please, make them all leave me alone!!!! I don't want to be paraded anywhere and I don't to be watched by what will be an extremely bored 14 year old...

I think I want to check myself into a hotel where no-one can find me and give birth quietly!!!! Or maybe just walk into a field with some long grass, squat and pop it out!

Thanks for listening and I hope you are all feeling really rested today..

Twoplusone- HOw you feeling today?

Report
twoplusone · 15/07/2007 11:39

Myfairone- luckily for us the only people who phone to ask if anything is happening, is dhs parents, but they have gone on holiday for a week now so we get a weeks peace.
My lot will just wait for a phone call..
which in a way I find equally frustrating..
I suppose we cant win..

Feel very nausious today, last night had more tightenings, but had to bend over with them , didnt like being upright it was far to uncomfortable and painful.. DH informed me this morning that he thinks things could be soon as my bits are all swollen.. heres hoping..

Due date today

I am panicking abit about the childcare though, as my neighbour is down to have the children but she has to go into hospital her self this week for an op. her pre tests tommorrow and op on tuesday. (she only found out last week bless her)

My other next door they both work all day everyday, going to try next door but one, when they get back in, I am sure she will do it... (I hope). We have someone else ready on standby to see to the dog.. (one of the single lads) just to let her in and out and make sure she has food and water..

the rest of the street ds doesnt really know. My other friends dh is away, so she has enough on her plate with her dd..

I know everything will fall into place it always does I am just a natural panicker.. Oh and it is ds last day at creche tommorrow.. maybe if I speak to them and say if need be would you be able to have him..

sorry just going on and on...

Hope everyone is ok.
xxx

MYfairone. I know how you feel.

When I got to this stage with DD I was panicking if I was left alone my waters would go and wanted someone around at all times. This time I WANT TO BE ALONE. I don't want to be driven everywhere or have help to put the washing on the line or hoover the house.
I think I know what is in store and want to do what I can do while I can do it. Before I loose the ability to get changed out of my pyjamas b4 midday (and even then only if someone is watching the baby.
I am an independent cow when I want to be (I wonder where DD gets it from) I will do what I can until I physically can not do it.

DH has just told me to calm down which has made me feel very tearful...what is up with me today? I feel so uptight and so feisty and I have no reason to feel this way. Just know I am being totally unreasonable to everyone. Need to calm down!

Twoplusone - Heres hoping that it all falls into place with your childcare plans and hooray for due day!!!! Did you go over with your others? And are swollen bits a sign?

It my parents first grandchild and I know they are just excited...I am sure that they will be great when the baby gets here. I just need to relax and let things happen and stop driving myself insane with silly worries about how everyone is going to be!

Typhoonsmum, thank you for making me feel sane! I am like you very independent and insist on doing things myself...

Big hugs to all.

Myfairone. hope you feel better soon.. I think being teary is part and the parcel of this part of pg.. I am crying att he slightest little thing.

DD was born at 36weeks.. but she had to come out no labour.. ds was born at 40+2 but had a sweep on due date as dh only had 10 days left before he had to go away..

I think I am leaking a bit of fluid.. as pad was damp and had gone through to my knickers..

No idea if swollen parts are a sign.. I think this could be the babs bearing right done.

It is quiet on here today... wonder if we have some labouring ladies..

yeah got the reserve babysiters sorted.. [gtrin]

I am ready to go.

Had a few more tightenings this afternoon, enough to take my breath away. Every so often when walking I get a bulging sensation in my fanjo. I know things are happening its just a matter of how long it will go on for.. a few hours a day or a week....
