Caroline- took your title to follow on the horsey theme!!

No idea what I'm having. Wanted to find out but DH didn't and as it meant we'd have had to pay for a private scan we didn't bother.
What about you?

Congratulations trimum. Glad all ok now but sorry to hear you didn't have a great birth.

My DD was born on the same day.

Hi
Sorry for being so late in posting. Can you believe it that although our little guy was born July 8th this is the first time that I have been logged on.

That will give you some indication of what life has been like.

Birth was pretty crap - induced, forceps, blood transfusion. But we were both okay in the end and I guess thats the important thing.

Hope you are all well and enjoying your little ones.

So I take it this thread comes a close? Typhoonsmum you won the prize for being last but I think firststar gets the medal because she had the heaviest!

We finally did it ladies...blood,sweat and tears and we are all there!

What a relief..

Big hugs to all.

I think so. I pity anyone who is still pregnant. Just waiting to feel like death. I feel fine. Surprisingly good. Sore boobs and lady bits but ok other than that!

Hello all.

Went in for induction on Friday morning. Was given first prostin at 11am and nothing happened. Had second dose at 5pm still nothing. Was to have a third dose in the morning. Was woken in the night by one of the other patients snoring. (Must have had a total of about 1hr 30 mins sleep due to her) Pains started at about 4am. Nothing very bad but they were there every ten minutes or so.
In the morning was examined and told that I didn't need the third prostin and could have my waters broken down on labour ward but they were busy and they'd ring when they were ready. In the meantime the contractions were getting more intense. At about 13.30 the midwife gave me gas and air. At 14.00 She examined me and said I was about 7 cm dilated and needed to go to labour ward. NOW! They got a wheelchair for me and took the gas and air off me while I was transferred downstairs. OMG the pain was so bad!!!!!!
James William was born at 14.50 on Saturday. He weighed 7lb 14oz.(Same weight as DD) I couldn't have any other pain relief as I was too far gone so I managed it on Gas and Air. No tears or episotomy. A couple of grazes that she stitched as they were opposite each other and would have stuck together. The whole process was 1hr and 20 mins.
Was moved back to the ward and my own private room (staff perks are great - even a newborn baby gave me more sleep than that other snoring woman.) Came home yesterday evening and spent most of today on the couch. James sleeps very well for a baby. I'm not expecting it to last tho.

hi all i am finally not pregnant any more!!!!!

I was due to be induced last Sunday however at 11:59 Saturday lunchtime Chloe Olivia was born weighing 8lb 4oz

1st contraction at 5:30pm fri continued at home as they were bearable until about 3am when they became 3 mins apart so went to the hospital. Baby was back to back and unfortunately I had to stay on the bed the whole time on a monitor due to last delivery. However I managed to get through the whole labour and birth with no pain relief, just used deep slow breathing had no stitches just one tiny tear which i cant even feel. Was in the shower after her first feed and up and about which was lovely.

I could have gone home after a couple of hours but I asked to stay just to check that i was feeding her right and she was doing ok. Anyhow I ended up having to stay 2 nights due to the fact that they only had one baby doctor on shift doing all the baby checks and she kept getting called away to emergency's. They said i could discharge myself and get Chloe checked at the GP but i've only just moved here and dont even know if they are any good so decided to wait and finally got discharged after all clear on check!

Chloe has been breastfeeding well and had put on 1oz at 5 day check. Big sister Marli has adjusted well to her although still refers to her as "it" bless her!

Hope everyone else is doing well and enjoying their new bundles smile]

Anyway, hoipe all has gone/is going well.
