Caroline- took your title to follow on the horsey theme!!

No idea what I'm having. Wanted to find out but DH didn't and as it meant we'd have had to pay for a private scan we didn't bother.
What about you?

kyte- yeah but we're a bit limited: kay, dorothy, nora, gaynor etc... there's a website somewhere that gives you traditional names, my friends needed a scottish name for their little girl. will try and find it for you
i like chloe and sophie but dp doesn't think they go

tiggsy · 15/07/2007 15:49

have you tried babycentre.co.uk?

Catz · 15/07/2007 16:02

Hi all. Good luck twoplusone - glad to hear that things seem to be happening. Keep us updated.

Not sure if things are happening wiht me yet. Have had back ache that comes and goes for the past 12 hrs. Not horribly painful but kept me awake for hours last night despite taking a couple of paracetamol. Now it is noticeable - can't quite ignore it but wouldn't say I was in loads of pain. Bit worried as m/w said baby was a 'bit back to back' on Fri so hope I'm not in for a long back labour. Sigh.

Afternoon all,

Well I finally managed to pull myself together after having a complete sniffling session to my DH (who was very understanding! bless him!)

I feel that things are happening but not sure how long they will happen for. Feel very heavy down below (like its just all going to fall out!), back aches and finding it so hard to waddle (let alone walk!) Have zero energy and have just laid around all day!

Just got a call from Mum asking if I have any pains

Twoplusone, my money is on you being our next labouring lady! How exciting!

Oh middle names...I would like to go for something short and sweet that isnt a relative!

Hi Girls,

We have another new arrival! Madeleine Rose was born yesterday weighing 8lbs exactly. She is absolutely scrumptious.

Contractions started around 5.30am and became more frequent but not lasting that long. I rang the hospital at 10am and they said come in just in case as I was a previous c- section. I was a bit reluctant as with the first one I went in too early, but thought I'd best be on the safe side. When they checked me I was 9cm dilated I just couldn't believe it I was really chuffed!

I decided on some G+A to get to 10cm and that was ok. Hypnobirthing definitely worked for the first part of labour but I think I went a little awry for the pushing. I have to say that after pushing for an hour and half I could have done with something stronger but it was too late by then.

LO turned from posterior but had her hand up to her face and so was born by ventouse with the help of an episiotomy, so no CS- wheyhey! All in all a lot nicer experience than first time around. Labour and maternity staff were all lovely-well apart from the man who stitched me up!

I hope this birth story gives hope to anyone with a previous CS wanting a normal delivery.

I hope the BF goes ok but did get abscess with DD1, I will give it my best shot though.

Good luck to the rest of you, it won't be long now. xx

tiggsy · 15/07/2007 19:34

congrats chrissybobs, pleased it all went well. you make it sound so easy

TransfiguratingLily · 15/07/2007 19:44

Hi, Just popping on to say that Whompingwillowinthe-Dewmeadow had her baby yesterday morning by cs. 8lbs 5 oz. called Clare. They are both doing fine.

And good luck to all you guys hope you have good, easy labours!

Myfairone · 15/07/2007 20:04

Congrats to whomping!

Chrissybobs - You made it sound so easy! Congratulations....I am so thrilled for you. Hope all is going well and you are enjoying your new arrival.

JAM - I AM SO ANGRY FOR YOU!!!! How dare the little punk say something like that to you! It makes me wish really bad things on people!
I hope that you are over it now....And I am so with you on the making mental lists of people you dislike. I seem to be having a constant internal dialogue of things that are annoying me!

Big hugs to all but not to the idiot who was rude to JAM!

Princesspowersparkle · 15/07/2007 21:03

Congratulations Whomping and Chrissy!! Very happy for you both- hope you have fun with your new arrivals!!

Hope everyone is OK and not suffering too much.
Had trouble sleeping last night- was soooo painful to lay down (so painful that when I tried it I nearly cried) so I spend the whole night on the sofa trying to sleep sitting up! Managed it on and off for 6 hours but wasn't the best nights sleep ever!
never mind- hopefully not long now!

JAM- can't believe he said that to you. I'd have sat on him....

MYFAIRONE- Glad the crying helped. Sometimes its exactly what you need. Hope you feel better about things this evening.

Ladies- please can we have some more babies born tonight?? (Mine inc.) Thank you!!

PPS x

Congratulations chrissybob and dewmeadow - lovely news! Chrissybob so glad you got a vbac (and to be 9cm on arrival at the hospital is just brilliant!). Ds was born with his hand up by his face, but I was in a pool with him so managed to get away without intervention, tearing or stitches (plus it was my third vaginal birth so had had a good stretch down there previously )

I don't know about anyone else still waiting - but I feel totally in limbo at the moment! It's very difficult to carry on with normal life; every twinge makes me think "is this it?". Also not helped by the fact that, although I appeared to sleep well last night, I felt so exhausted when I got up I nearly cried!

We went to the beach this afternoon though and had a lovely time, just what I needed. We flew kites and the weather was gorgeous

Here's hoping that a few more of us make it onto the "delivered" list this week!

Caroline1852 · 15/07/2007 23:31

Chrissy & Whompingwillowinthedewmeadow - congratulations. I should be in bed as have to be at hospital tomorrow for c-section at 8am. Too wired to sleep.

Morning all,

How are we all today?

Miaou - yes to the feeling in limbo. I feel like nothing can be put in place and just keep thinking 'it could be today'!

I felt better after my crying yesterday (not so sure where it came from) but got no sleep again last night. Neighbours have gone on holiday leaving 2 teenage boys at home alone...hence, party every night and at 3am they were screaming obscenities at each other in the back garden!!! Doesn't anyone appreciate how little sleep a pregnant woman gets anyway?!?!?

So did anyone have their baby last night? It is exciting to think that in less than a month we will all have had our LO's and will be on the other thread.

Nearly there girls!

Princesspowersparkle · 16/07/2007 08:17

Well, had a great nights sleep and then at 5am got up for my third 'wee' in 10 minutes and my waters broke!!!! Yey!!!!! Managed to get to the loo holding myself with my hand (luckily very short distance) and its been leaking ever since. Went to the hospital to get checked but not having contractions yet (boo!) so sent me home and need to go back tomorrow morning if nothing happens in the meantime. Think it will though- been getting a lot of back ache and reasonably aching tightenings since so hopefully this is the start.
Very strange though- got into bed last night and for the last couple of nights I'd been sleeping on a bath towel' just in case'. Well, hadn't put one on the bed and after I laid there for a few minutes I had to get up and put one down, and put a maternity pad on! Maybe I knew???
Also had my show at the same time. Was lovely!!
Anyway- sorry to bore everyone, hope there are a few more of you starting too!
Love a very excited, but slightly disbelieving PPS!! (39+3) XXX

PPS - Yay, yay, yay!!!!!

Oh my, how exciting! So do you think that your instinct told you that you would need the towel? I think so!

So now you are sitting waiting for things to happen? Did your Dp/Dh go to work?

Try and keep yourself busy and just potter around the house. I'm so excited for you and also just a tad jealous....

Good luck and I hope that all goes well!!!

Princesspowersparkle · 16/07/2007 08:35

Myfairone thank you for your wishes! I think instinct must have told me! It was so odd but I didn't really expect it either IYSWIM?
Am really excited. DH hasn't gone to work which I am quite pleased about, its quite nice to have someone around to help take my mind off things!
Going to do a bit of ironing and go for a little walk, then going to sit on my ball and bounce for England to make the baby come!! Might also try and get a bit of a nap in- even though sleep was good last night it was only about 4 1/2 hrs so I imagine will be shattered later.
Think I am getting mild contractions now so hopefully won't have to wait too long!
Will keep everyone posted!
EEEEeeekkkkkkK!K!!!!!! I'm having a baby!!!!!!!!!!!

morning all. good luck pps! hope it all goes well. i've got just over a week to go now til my cs and am seriously impatient

Dumbledorf · 16/07/2007 09:06

Good luck PPS!

Congratulations Chrissy bobs and WW!

myfairone, your post about your mum and the phones made me laugh. My Mum phones every night to say where she'll be and on what number, and yesterday my dad phoned in the afternoon tosay they were round at a friends house and to give me the number!!

So, baby was due yesterday and no signs so far, apart from the usual stuff which has been going on for weeks and just appears to mean, yes you are very pregnant and will have a baby soon.

Feel remarkably chirpy though today, after being entirely unreasonable and tearful yesteday and am on a bit of a mission to encourage the baby out, will go for a wlak then buy and eat some figs, then jump on dh when he gets home.

Good luck everyone!!
