Caroline- took your title to follow on the horsey theme!!

No idea what I'm having. Wanted to find out but DH didn't and as it meant we'd have had to pay for a private scan we didn't bother.
What about you?

Marchbunny and Cyee, thank you so much for your birth stories. And Cyee you have really made me happy with your last paragraph about how you coped. There is always that fear that you just 'cant do it'! You have given me faith! So thank you. Congrats to both of you and well done!

Typhoonsmum - I am sure that you will be fine on your own (I had the same situation last weekend and spent the entire evening petrified!)....we are here if you need 'virtual support!

So is everyone still really upbeat? I have no idea what happened to me today. I woke up and felt energised. Had a good walk around Ikea and bought a few things. I stupidly stood on a pair of £2.99 scales and the damn things told me that I have put on 3stone. Got my Mum to stand on them and they reported she was 10lb heavier than normal....can I please kid myself that I haven't really put on 3st? Can I? Please?

Of to have a cup of tea and a biscuit!

Myfairone · 12/07/2007 16:06

All this talk of pain reminded me that I had forgotten to hire a Tens machine...Have hired one now and feel much happier. Just can't see myself doing this labour business on two paracetamols!

JAM - I keep thinking things like 'its one day out of my life' and 'This time next month it will all be over'!

We will all get through it ladies and by hook or by crook we shall have our babes in arms very soon!

tiggsy · 12/07/2007 16:25

think these birth stories might have given my lo ideas. getting really really bad period like cramps... kind of forgotten (cos of cs) that things might happen sooner! hopefully just sympathy pains but will try and keep everyone informed

Myfairone · 12/07/2007 16:40

Ooooh tiggsy! Good luck! Keep us informed, hope your okay.

trying to convince bump it doesn't want to come yet! get bunch of cramps together then a gap. also trying to convince dp i'm not winding him up (he's still at work!)

lynnec · 12/07/2007 18:23

Im still here....after having period type pain last night, this continued all night from 7pm until 11am this morning???? Nothing today though apart from tightenings.

Goodluck to all thats left!

tiggsy · 12/07/2007 18:26

false alarm! my downstairs neighbour is a midwife and she's pretty sure it's just bump getting in position. but also thinks i may not make it til my booked cs on the 24th...

lynnec · 12/07/2007 18:33

Goodluck tiggsy!!!

Myfairone · 12/07/2007 19:03

Well after ordering my Tens machine I have been having lots of tightenings.
Wouldn't it be typical if I had it before my pain relief arrives!

Hope everyone feels well tonight and Tiggsy its gonna happen sooner rather than later then!!! woohooo!

Cyee · 12/07/2007 19:16

Me again

Catz - go for the loosest clothes you can. I didn't put much weight on but the maternity jeans I took with me would have been quite uncomfortable to wear home. I wore my linen mat trousers and a smock type top to come home in. The post birth belly really is delightful! Take a few options, one on the large and one on the smaller side...

Take care all. My milk has come in today... I am like a bloomin' porn star!!

whompingwillowinthedewmeadow · 12/07/2007 21:13

Great birth stories! Cyee - this is my third and Im bricking it so enjoyed your reassuring words - gonna definitely try the jungle noises (IF I get that far on my VBAC - please please please)

Didnt pack my bag today!!

Chrissybobs · 12/07/2007 22:55

Cyee and Marchbunny, what wonderful birth stories, a real comfort to read-thanks.

It sounds like TENS work quite well then which is not something that I had considered so I'm now wondering whether I have time to hire one and whether to give it a try.Best hurry!

Whomping, my fingers are crossed for us both having a VBAC although my LO is still posterior I think.

bilblio · 13/07/2007 00:15

tiggsy I've had the period pains for over a week now, no baby yet so try not to get too excited (like I did.)

Just spent a fun night with DP's brother and sister-in-law. Had a take out, DP wouldn't allow a curry which I'm a bit gutted about.

I've spent most of the night with them feeling my belly, SIL felt lots of movements, BIL felt none and he's annoyed. After they left, and LO started its usually 11pm aerobics I had the bright idea of videoing it for posterities sake... I'd highly recommend it
I got one half decent video but I'm going to try to get some more before the baby arrives then blokey, who's a musician can add some music.
Daft I know but I've got to keep myself amused in some way until this baby arrives

agnesnitt · 13/07/2007 00:49

Okay too tired and dead to post much, but I have to intercede on behalf of Princesspowersparkle... Tell your other half to get his head out of his bum and let you go to the cinema. I'm due the same day you are and I shall be there on Friday 13th with labour bag at feet

Be a renegade, say you're popping out to check the front door is still working and leg it (waddle if necessary)

Hope you're all okay ladies.

Agnes

PPS- I am due on sunday and if Harry potter was on here I would defo be going.. but we wont get it for another couple of weeks.

feeling fairly positive about things this morning, although really tired. DS has been going to bed all week without a nappy, but as we were at a leaving do last night, it must have really tired him out bless him as he weed just as he was waking up. No idea how I am going to dry his duvet once it comes out of the machine before tonight.. going to have to go over the bannister I think.

Well had a good walk last night, played foorball (well I passed the ball the a few times) with DS, came home, cut up two fresh pinapples and juiced them and drank the juice. even had bedroom activities this morning, and nothing...

Lo is obvoiusly very happy where he is..

Hope everyone is ok this morning, and lets see if we do have any Friday 13th Babies.. I personally dont mind just want to meet him.

Princesspowersparkle · 13/07/2007 07:40

Heee Agnes- was thinking about popping along today while he is at work... what he doesn't know and all that! Its probably a sure fire way of getting the baby to make an appearance too- having to get him to pick me up from the cinema cos I'm in labour!

Well, had the most painful nights ever. How can your stomach hurt so much from just laying down? Plus I had tonnes of BHs every 5-10 mins for hours. Was hoping they'd turn into something more but alas no, just got a little more back ache with them. Never mind, still a week til due date!

Hope everyone one is well and we'll have a few more babies over the weekend!

Chrissy - my DS was posterior - its v sore in labour. I didnt know though, so Im sure you're doing loads to get him to move.

heres to all the twinges and aches and pains turnign into the real thing (though Ive given up hope of an early arrival)

JennsterSlugSlayer · 13/07/2007 08:12

Twoplusone, I'm sorting out the attic bedroom where we stored a load of junk. Consequently we have all our camping gear nicely boxed up (instead of being strewn around) and all the sleeping bags are drying in various parts of the house. One on the clothes horse in the cellar, one over the bannister and one over the shower. The charity shop over the road is doing well out of us this week and it was 10p listing day on E-bay yesterday so got quite a bit on there too.

Harry Potter seems like a good idea. Think I will walk there

Myfairone · 13/07/2007 08:34

Morning all,

I thought I was in labour last night. A ton of BH at really regular intervals and then nothing! I am still 2 weeks away from due date but Mum (who has been known to predict certain arrivals) is sure its going to be on Sunday...and like I fool I really want to believe her!

Hope all Harry Potter fans enjoy the movie (go for it, whats the worst that can happen!)

I had a sudden energy burst this morning so changed beds and mopped floors...need to sit down now!

Postal strike today is preventing my TENS machine from coming priority mail!

Big hugs to all...nearly there girls!

tiggsy · 13/07/2007 08:40

morning all. really uncomfortable night last night but mw reckons it's cos bumps trying to fit it's bum where most babies stick their head! feel fine this morning
hope everyone is still as cheery as we were yesterday
pps-i'd go see harry potter, probably won't get a lot of chance once lo is here and you've got a brilliant excuse for loads of sweets and popcorn...

JennsterSlugSlayer · 13/07/2007 08:42

Ohh ohhh ohh popcorn! Forgotten about that. It's full of fibre right so not that bad for you?????

tiggsy · 13/07/2007 08:45
