Caroline- took your title to follow on the horsey theme!!

No idea what I'm having. Wanted to find out but DH didn't and as it meant we'd have had to pay for a private scan we didn't bother.
What about you?

Or there's Shrek the Third if you can't sit down for more than 90 mins.

tiggsy · 13/07/2007 08:47

jennster-one of the supermarkets has had the microwaveable stuff on offer for months, been living off it! doesn't make you feel as guilty as chocolate

Myfairone · 13/07/2007 08:47

OH MY GOD!! The manager from the local post office just brought my TENS machine...he said that he saw the TENS label and knew that I was pregnant and thought he had better bring it to me! (apparently his sister has just had a baby!)

He told me that if I go into labour today I am to think of him and allow the waves of electrical pulses to wash the pain away!

How nice is that? There really are some great people around...I nearly kissed him (but didn't want to scare him!)

Very smiley and happy now!

Myfairone · 13/07/2007 08:48

POPCORN!

daisyandbabybootoo · 13/07/2007 08:51

thought you lovely ladies would be interested to know that Foxy has (finally) had her baby

JennsterSlugSlayer · 13/07/2007 08:54

Wow that's lovely myfairone! But the the flip did I put mine? I lent it to somebody on mn, who sent it back, and also bought me new electrodes. I can find the electrodes!

I love stories like that - restores your faith in humanity - we hear too much about how bad everyone is!

I never considered aTENS machine - seems to be v recommended here.

Miaou · 13/07/2007 09:18

What a lovely PO man! There are nice people out there still

Hmm - I tried a TENS machine when having dd1 and just found it annoying, so I've not bothered since. When in labour with dd2 my contractions started at about 5 mins apart and were very strong so I doubt it would have had any impact anyway. Then with ds I was having a waterbirth so - er - the two don't mix!

twoplusone · 13/07/2007 10:00

myfairone- that was lovely of your po man, think I would have kissed him..

Thank you for letting us know daisy.

DS duvet is over the bannister, hopefully will dry by tonight for him. Going to sit and relax now, done the kitchen downstairs bathroom, hoovered, polished and washed the floors.. Need to sit and realx before I tackle the next lot of ironing. Will do that after I have taken the kids out for lunch with my friend.

Goodnews though dh starts his 4weeks leave today..

Enjoy Harry Potter, if you get chance to see it I am so . Have given dh strict instructions he is to get me the new book as soon as it is released next week.

JennsterSlugSlayer · 13/07/2007 10:23

Well I'm waxed, trimmed, immac-ed, exfoliated and moisturised within an inch of my life, and the house is geting there, what with e-bay and freecycle. So baby definitely not coming soon, will wait 'til we all get untidy again.

catstar · 13/07/2007 10:49

Lovely postman Myfairone!

Well, I'm sitting here with my TENS machine cranked up to level 8 trying to distract myself from some rather painful contractions. My waters broke yesterday evening as I bent over to put some pork chops under the grill!! Went to the hospital (after eating the chops of course!) where I was examined & monitored etc, all while lying in a pool of fluid that just seemed to keep on coming.... and was sent home at 2am to wait until contractions become too much to bear. They're coming every 5 mins and stop me dead and make me swear and huff and puff a lot, but think the TENS machine is doing its job.

Am feeling nervous, scared and excited in equal measures - and can't believe that it looks like I'm going to have a Friday 13th arrival!!!

Good luck everyone - I hope I have as positive a story as the ones detailed so far .

Groveregg · 13/07/2007 10:49

Wow everyone sounds really organised this morning! Myfairone your postman sounds like a star. Wouldn't it be fate if you needed to use it today?!

Well I had my growth scan yesterday and all is absolutely fine. It was impossible to pick anything out from the screen as it just looked so BIG in comparison to the 20 week scan. I was quite relieved really as we didn't want to see the sex at this late stage... Horrid lady doing it though, she moaned at me because I had forgotten my notes ("9am and already wasting my time...") and then at the sight of ds who we had to take along she kept saying "Poor boy, what he'll have to go through, you can tell I was an eldest child can't you?". She said the LO looked a little bit small for dates - but then when she handed me the report, it said that its head circumference was average for someone at 37 weeks and 6 days - just 2 days earlier than me!!!

Chrissybobs if you want a tens machine in a hurry it might be worth talking to a big Boots if there's one near you. I just hired one on the spot the other day from the pharmacy counter. First time round I had to ring round a few to find one that was available but at least you don't have to rely on the post.

Congrats to Bodkin and Foxy! Who will be next? I definitely can't be today, not only Friday 13th but also dh is going to a beer festival tonight and he is notorious for being useless at answering his mobile and also useless all round when drunk (even if he is nicely soppy). Actually better not be tomorrow either as he will be good for nothing then too!

Groveregg · 13/07/2007 10:50

Oo catstar looks like it's you next then! Good luck and hope all goes well.

Ohh good luck catstar.
My Dad was a Friday the 13th baby and it doesn't seem to have caused him any problems in life.
Also "Friday's child is loving and giving". Which sounds perfect to me. Sorry my mum seems to be obsessed with that poem at the moment.

abgirl · 13/07/2007 13:50

Dear All

Have totally failed to keep up with the messages re new births since coming home with Owen so massive congrstulations to everyone who's had their babies and my sympathies with those of you who are still impatiently waiting...

Am hoping that someone else is keeping track of the stats now - I saw a few people had a go on the last thread so maybe groveregg or someone would be kind enough to keep them updated and I'll try and take them over again when everything's a bit mre settled.

Owen and I are both recovering well from the c-section. He feeds every three hours or so and has taken to breastfeeding very well. DS1 was absolutely horrified to see Owen 'biting' mummy at first but has now got used to the idea and is very taken with Owen. I'm not too bad apart from a cracked nipple - have never experienced pain like it but after some help from a midwife it seems to be getting much better now.

Right can see DS1 creating havoc out of the corner of my eye so have to sign off, will catch up with all your messages somewhen!!!

twoplusone · 13/07/2007 13:57

Go catstar, good luck hun. and chooster Looks like we are in for two births today.
