@CaseofEllen it's horrible isn't it and I'm the same in wanting DP around constantly . We just bought a house in January that needed absolutely everything doing to it so I am currently at my mum's until it's ready so as well as him working 6 days a week he's at the house trying to get work done on it . I just feel useless and feel awful for moaning . I sleep a couple of hours then I'm awake . Probs my body getting me ready for motherhood haha .

Fingers crossed we don't go over x

MistakenHoliday · 14/03/2019 06:57

Oh @SquirtlesMumAgain she's absolute perfection. - congratulations! So glad you managed to avoid theatre too x

Angelmiracle · 14/03/2019 06:58

Congratulations @SquirtlesMumAgain on the arrival of baby Alice! She's a little dote, so tiny! Your body must have been in progress after all, for the induction to be so quick. Hope you're feeling great πŸ’—πŸŒΈ

@squirtlesmumagain congratulations!

SquirtlesMumAgain · 14/03/2019 07:09

Last growth scan said approx 6.5lb so a whole lb short of where they short she would be. At least she is here!

Angelmiracle · 14/03/2019 07:22

@SquirtlesMumAgain I hope baby's a whole lb lighter than they are estimating for me!!

Consultant Midwife appointment first thing this morning, hospital physio, parents assembly at DS school, then growth scan- maybe all the running around will start things Grin

Congratulations @SquirtlesMumAgain. She's absolutely beautiful.... her little tiny nose is adorable 😍 Love her name too!

MyMumDimensionJumps · 14/03/2019 08:09

Congratulations and well done SquirtlesMumAgain. She's so cute! I'm sure you're pleased you managed to avoid any additional intervention. Flowers

Jenlou1992 I feel exactly the same, but I'm 38+5 and thoroughly fed up. I know people say enjoy the time before the baby, but there isn't a great deal you can do with a bump. I had my son all day yesterday as he didn't have nursery and it was exhausting, and I feel I'm at the stage now where I shouldn't venture too far from home either as the traffic is pretty awful where I live. I am aiming to do the cleaning, then as little as possible today!

What doesn't help is I get some signs of something happening, then suddenly they completely disappear.

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 14/03/2019 08:23

@MyMumDimensionJumps I understand being frustrated by things that seem to be happening and then suddenly stopping. I had waves of period cramp last night and could feel the baby moving very very low down but then it stopped and this morning baby is back up in my ribs

Today was my initial due date. (I've had 3- no idea how or why!) I've always had it in my head that baby will be born on the 14th but now it's come by, I'd be very very surprised. Also got my 38 week appointment today so will be interesting to see how baby is positioned.

Sictransitgloria · 14/03/2019 09:56

Awww congratulations @squirtlesmumagain she is a little cutie!

@assumeitwassomethingclever I have the same kind of thing where baby is low then he isn’t?

@jenlou1992 @caseofellen Flowers Flowers Flowers for you both

Gronk27 · 14/03/2019 10:18

My Nan just rang me because she was convinced I would have gone into labour. This waiting game is a bit weird! Going to clean the bathroom, go to the supermarket and write lists of what’s in the hospital bags for DH. Not sure whether to go to yoga this evening or not, I can just see the look of horror on everyone's faces when we introduce ourselves and how many weeks we are. Hello, I’m Gronk, I’m 40 weeks . . .

CaseofEllen · 14/03/2019 10:29

@Jenlou1992 oh poor you and DP Sad mine is sleeping on the sofa because of my pregnancy snoring and I miss him in bed so much!

@MyMumDimensionJumps sorry you're feeling the same way! Thanks

@Gronk27 if you feel up for it then go for it! You're a better woman than me πŸ˜‚

The last 3 or 4 days I've felt like things have been happening for me but today I feel absolutely nothing. Barely feel pregnant apart from the huge bump and kicks! God the last few weeks are the hardest..

Jenfur · 14/03/2019 11:15

Congratulations @SquirtlesMumAgain glad you avoided theatre as well. I guess all that early labouring was worth it?!

Last few nights I've been waking up, going for a wee then having bad period pain when I get back into bed. Lasts a couple of minutes and then goes away until the next time I wake up. Last night (sorry if TMI but not sure there's such a thing anymore πŸ˜‚) I woke at 5 with baby feeling so low and like he was pressing into my bowel, like I really needed to poo but didn't really need to go, if that makes sense? Ended up having to sit on the loo at 8ish for ten minutes doing nothing before the pain went away. Is this a thing?? I've heard of period pain in labour of course and sometimes feeling like you have an upset stomach but the level of pain was incredible, I could barely stand up.

I'm so ready to not be pregnant anymore and want to avoid induction if possible so getting fed up that it feels never ending (only 38+6 so can't really complain!!)

SquirtlesMumAgain · 14/03/2019 12:32

@jenfur if only - all those contractions got me to a whole 1cm dilated!!!!
I will pop the birth story on the postnatal thread when I can face it!

I had the same feeling about the 14th and being in my 38th week, although not due for another 9 days yet. I thought the date looked 'familiar' if you know what I mean. I'm worried now it's going to be 01/04 instead! You never know though, there is still time. You may have a very quick labour!

CaseofEllen
It's hard when you have days with where something seems to be happening. Have you been having signs for over a week now? I had so many aches and twinges yesterday, but today I had a few, but nothing significant, just a little more (TMI) plug loss when I wipe, but not the massive stomach churning glob you see in pictures. I have to have a word with myself when I see this and tell myself it doesn't mean anything. Despite all that, I always get to about 8pm at night though and think 'please not now though, I want some sleep first'!

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 14/03/2019 14:06

@MyMumDimensionJumps Yeah, I'm really hoping I don't have an April fools baby as well. We've got a family idiot who has that birthday and I can't be doing with all the jokes!

SquirtlesMumAgain · 14/03/2019 14:48

I was born on Friday 13th... You can imagine the comments I got in my life!
Guessing DD will have the same fun of being 13th as well.

Hope those who are waiting don't have too long to wait. It will all be worth it in the end, even though it is utterly frustrating!

In a room with 2 of the most selfish people... Their conversations are winding me up!

CaseofEllen · 14/03/2019 15:28

@Jenfur sometimes I feel like I need the loo so much that I can't stand up straight to walk there. Is that the kind of feeling you're getting?

@MyMumDimensionJumps yes been having some signs for a while now. Lost plug, period pain, a lot of BH, overly emotional etc but today I don't feel much. Have actually been cleaning a lot this morning with the help (mostly done by) DP Blush although the dog, who has been incredibly clingy and protective of me throughout pregnancy, has been very moody and stand offish today which I've googled heard can be a sign! Can you tell I'm clutching at straws here πŸ˜‚

MistakenHoliday · 14/03/2019 15:38

@SquirtlesMumAgain oh no! How long do you think you'll have to stay in for? You sound like you could do with some headphones to block them out Smile

I'm now hooked up to my TENS machine after my second swept this morning. DD is at nursery and then my mum's coming to get her for a sleepover. Hopefully everything's going in the right direction and baby should be here by tomorrow 🀞🏻

SquirtlesMumAgain · 14/03/2019 16:22

We have to be in 24 hours from birth, but they won't do a discharge at 10pm so will be discharged in the morning all being well. Only issue at the moment is trying to get her to feed!

SquirtlesMumAgain · 14/03/2019 16:22

Fingers crossed for you @mistakenholiday

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 14/03/2019 17:08

Had my 38 week appointment today. She's said that baby is in a good position for birth but has no way engaged yet which is apparently to be expected with your first. She's said its legs are still under my rib cage so it still very high. I've booked in for my 40 week appointment where she's offered me a sweep. I think I'll decline after using my hypnobirthing "B.R.A.I.N"
I was kind of hoping she'd say there were signs of something happening but never mind!

Gronk27 · 14/03/2019 17:49

@assumeitwassomethingclever same as me two weeks ago, i’m not sure if my hypnobirthing attitude was the reason she didn’t even offer me a sweep. Said I could have one on Tuesday but i’m booked in to discuss on Thursday anyway. They can drop very quickly, mine was high on Friday and then all of a sudden this week she’s low and engaged.

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 14/03/2019 18:09

@Gronk27 I was surprised actually by how matter of fact she was. She said, next time we'll do a sweep and then repeat it the week after. if you go 12 days overdue that's when we'll induce you. I was a bit taken aback and can see how people who haven't done hypnobirthing can get swept up in the process without feeling like they have a choice!

Gronk27 · 14/03/2019 18:17

@assumeitwassomethingclever oh wow! My midwife is actually hypnobirthing trained as are most of them at the hospital/MLU, I’m very lucky. That defo sounds like β€˜the conveyor belt of care!’
