Congrats @nightmanagerfan sounds like a good labour, heart rate worry aside!

SquirtlesMumAgain · 04/04/2019 14:34

Congratulations @Nightmanagerfan - glad you are getting the support. I hope it continues - I have found it stopped on day 3 both times :(

Dalesgirl16 · 05/04/2019 16:28

Has anyone else got carpal tunnel? I got it three weeks ago so two week before giving birth and don't know how to get rid? I'm wearing a splint ?

SquirtlesMumAgain · 05/04/2019 21:48

I got it first time round. I had an injection and it cleared pretty quickly after - hope you get it sorted!

In a similar way, did anyone else have ICP/OC (aka itchy feet) before baby? It went away for a few weeks immediately after he was born but recently I've found it has come back so I'm now wondering was it even that to begin with and it was just s coincidence my bile acids were also up!! I spoke to the midwife and they said I need to get my bloods done at the GPs and to book a non urgent appointment, but there weren't any for s few weeks so am just going to mention it at my 6-8 week check which we've got next week anyway. I'm not worried as it's just itchy feet at night and I've still got loads of cream (although not taking the meds ATM) more bemused about why it went away and then came back!

Dalesgirl16 · 06/04/2019 09:05

@SquirtlesMumAgain who gave you the injection?

SquirtlesMumAgain · 06/04/2019 10:04

My doctor @Dalesgirl16 - was 4 years ago though so advice may have changed. I did have it for some time before they did the injection

Angelmiracle · 06/04/2019 13:40

@Dalesgirl16 I have it badly in my right hand and slightly in my left. It's worse than it was in pregnancy especially BF lying down Confused ME said mention to doctor at 6 week check they'll try physio first. Hope it goes soon though.

Thanks all! We are in love - he is completely adorable! Still in hospital getting treatment for his jaundice - could do with going home soon as I’m a bit cabin feverish- last time I saw fresh air was on the way in while contracting on Monday night! I feel happy he’s getting the right care tho which is more important than my need for sunlight we this point!

Can’t remember who asked re feeding support but yes we are in a London and there appears to be no shortage of feeding help.

I can’t fault the NHS and I realised earlier that all our birth preferences were met including being allowed to find out the sex ourselves, golden hour, dimmer lighting etc. V impressed tho I know it’s a postcode lottery.

@Dalesgirl16 my right thumb started hurting a couple of weeks before birth, mainly at night. It was pretty minimal and I assumed would go after birth so didn't even get round to mentioning it to midwife. Now my thumb is quite swollen and during the night I can find it hard to grip properly with that hand. Going to speak to doctors at 6 week check if it hasn't gone by then.

Dalesgirl16 · 06/04/2019 20:22

@jenfur last pregnancy I got de querveyns syndrome two weeks before giving birth (aka 'mothers thumb'). It didn't go til I saw a rheumatologist privately for months later and he gave me steroid injection.

Jenfur · 07/04/2019 19:22

@Dalesgirl16 thanks, I hadn't heard of that, was just assuming it was carpal tunnel. Doesn't sound great if you had to sort privately and it went on for months. I'm hoping it's going to get better before my 6 week check otherwise I'll speak to the doctor then and see what they say. I can't believe how many things come on during pregnancy.
