Congrats soboredofwaiting and March19. Flowers Hope I haven't missed anyone else? It all seems to be happening on this thread now.

Best of luck everyone else who are getting some signs of/in labour or currently getting induced. Hope all goes smoothly for you.

I'm very crampy down there and round my lower back this morning. Had a teeny bit of plug loss this morning and feel a bit wet internally like you do when your period is happening. Also started to get the let down sensation the past couple of days. Contractions just feel very Braxton Hicks like though, not really anymore painful than the cramps, so not convinced anything is really happening yet. I don't want to get excited as I know people can feel like this for ages. Not sure whether to rest after a morning of running around, or keep going.

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 13/03/2019 13:36

Congratulations @march19. She's got so much hair! 😍

Angelmiracle · 13/03/2019 13:39

@march19 congratulations on your new baby girl she is beautiful πŸ’—

Fingers crossed its the start of things for you @CaseofEllen and the sweep won't be needed. Hope appointment goes well x

@march19 congratulations, she's beautiful. Looks like she's smiling in that photo.

Does anyone know if it's normal for baby to be quieter in later pregnancy? Not less movements but gentler movements? Might just be that he's moved into a different position that means I can't feel him as much or I haven't been paying enough attention.

MyMumDimensionJumps · 13/03/2019 14:10

Jenfur

I did wonder this a couple of days ago, they say the type of movement might change as space become limited, but the pattern and number of movements should be the same. It's hard because my baby has quiet and busy days. I would get checked out though, it's better to have your mind put at rest and know everything is ok. The midwives are usually really good and always say they are glad you have gone in.

HidCat · 13/03/2019 14:44

@march19 congratulations! She's gorgeous!

@Jenfur if you're at all worried it's worth getting checked. Movements for me are less forceful and she does have quiet days when she turns or In busy and not paying attention but I've always been able to get / feel her moving again quite quickly.

Wineandchoccy · 13/03/2019 15:16

@march19 congratulations she is beautiful and I love her name

MistakenHoliday · 13/03/2019 16:05

@march19 congratulations! Gorgeous name and what a head of hair!

Jenfur · 13/03/2019 16:13

Thanks @MyMumDimensionJumps and @HidCat he spent an hour booting me after I posted. He has quiet days after a couple of busy days but was a bit gentler on Monday, really big kicks yesterday then gentle again today. Perhaps he's just moving around a lot and keeps changing position, it just seems unusual to me that he had two days like that so close together. I'll keep an eye and go to the hospital if needed.

CaseofEllen · 13/03/2019 16:16

Had the most disappointing and frustrating appointment Sad we had a scan and clinic today because two weeks ago we were told baby's growth had stopped so had been worrying a bit about that for the last two weeks.

Go in today and have the scan first, sonographer tells us he's measuring at 42 weeks (I'm 38+6 today) and weighing around 8.3lbs, which I know isn't always accurate but we've been told all along he's a big boy.

So we're waiting for clinic and we get called through and a midwife assistant tells us to wait in room 3. We go in and she follows us and basically says 'we're not really sure why you're here today, the growth hasn't dropped off, everything's fine. Consultant is happy for you to go to term' Hmm so I say 'so we didn't need a scan?' And she's basically says no, someone made a mistake.

I wish at the time I'd said something! As I think the consultant could've come and explained that a mistake was made, considering we've been a bit worried the last two weeks thinking placenta might have stopped working etc..

I'm happy to be left to go naturally but just think the way this 'mistake' was dealt with was really bloody poor! Especially as DP is self employed and took the time to come to the appointment with me. He also had some questions he wanted to ask which he didn't get a chance to as consultant didn't see us!

Feeling grateful and lucky that we have a healthy boy and I can labour naturally (unless I go overdue by 10 days) but also frustrated with the whole experience.

Sorry for the moan!

Sheeni · 13/03/2019 17:19

Congratulations to all the mums of new babies - I haven't posted in a while, so there's been quite a few!

@Assumeitwassomethingclever Hope the boiler situation will get resolved soon and that it won't be as bad £££-wise as you think! What a rubbish timing.
@CaseofEllen That's so rubbish. So unhelpful. It's so frustrating when people can't handle such mistakes properly. But at least it's still good news, everything is OK kind of mistake.

I've had a MW appointment today and apparently my bump got smaller? Anyone else had the same? I went from 35cm to 33cm in 2 weeks. MW said it could be because he's a bit more engaged (3/5), but is sending me to a growth scan anyway, just in case. She also said he's got a bony bum, which makes me worried I'm not eating enough? Confused
All of you ladies with various labour symptoms, I'm quite jealous. I've had nothing. No show, no false contractions, no period pain, no nesting, no (unusual) emotional outbursts, wasn't even sure if he actually dropped a bit or I was just wishfully thinking it. Makes me feel like it will never happen at all!

SharonO225 · 13/03/2019 17:36

Congratulations @melissa112 and @Exhaustedmummy1811 on the safe arrival of your beautiful LO's
Sorry if iv missed anyone, so many arriving so quickly now.
Just in the car with DD1 and DD2 waiting on DH and DS2 coming out of the barbers and realised I hadn't checked in in a few days, went on the thread and it's too much to catch up on. DD2 was a week old yesterday and it's flew in, I don't seem to have stopped lol getting out of the house requires a suitcase these days πŸ˜‚. I hope everyone is well, and those that are still waiting aren't left waiting much longer xx

SharonO225 · 13/03/2019 17:39

Congratulations @march19 I've just seen your post she's beautiful xx

Thank you @Gronk27 lol I would have still been posting on the old thread and would never have caught up lol πŸ™ˆ

Hope I haven't missed anyone else, sorry if I have and congratulations if you have got your LO's X

Wineandchoccy · 13/03/2019 17:48

@CaseofEllen how frustrating, glad everything is ok but you could have done without the worry of the last couple of weeks

Jenlou1992 · 13/03/2019 18:07

Can't believe all the babies that are born already . I really want mine here now! My due date is Friday . I don't feel I have any symptoms to say in close but I am really low and I don't know why but my heart burn has got 100x worst . So bad all day and night. Not sleeping well at all as I can't get comfy . Will have a sweep a week today if I haven't already had baby but that seems an eternity away

Would go for a long walk but I feel too tired haha

Massive congrats to all the new mummies . It's all lovely news xx

MistakenHoliday · 13/03/2019 18:38

@Sheeni I've been told that DD has a boney bum too so I think it's quite common! I'm not sure about the bump thing but I keep getting told by my midwife that it's not massively reliable anyway...

@CaseofEllen that's so frustrating - a day wasted and that needless worrying too Sad

Nothing's really been happening over here. Lower back pain and some tightening about nothing that feels imminent. I was so hopeful after the show this morning too! Back to the midwife for a sweep tomorrow so hopefully that will jog things along a bit. I must have a very comfy womb or a very laid back baby Smile

cardboard33 · 13/03/2019 19:16

@sheeni my bump measurements went down, but they were done by different people each time and there's always a very big margin for error. We also had a scan at 36+5 where they told us the weight was currently 6lbs 1oz and he was born 36 hours later at 7oz so in sum, they're just used as a guide. I didn't really have any clear warning signs either but still somehow produced a baby 3 weeks early. In hindsight I've looked back and have thought "hmm maybe that was something" but other than my mucus plug going in the early hours of the morning, I had no idea he was on the way until the definite contractions started late in the evening because I quite literally felt fine. I was still working, living my life as I had been all of the way through the pregnancy doing the London commute etc (never had to deal with anything like the issues most of these ladies have dealt with, barely felt pregnant) so essentially pretty much as far from nesting as you can possibly go!

I have realised however that I posted on here at the end of week 32 saying that I thought my bump had dropped/colleagues had commented on it, and that Google reliably informed me that first time mums tend to have their baby about 4 weeks later and was like "but that's the end of week 36... surely that's not going to happen" and decided I must be wrong as I didn't have any of the associated symptoms such as a need to pee all of the time etc.... apparently it was right!

Congratulations to everyone who has recently had a baby!! They're all stunning. Hope you're all doing well and getting used to life with a newborn (or your new lives as a larger family if you already have kids) :)

@badbadbeans I'm so glad your appointment went better than you expected and you're able to focus all of your energies on the baby rather than saving a part of your mind to focus on other health matters, then just take stock again in a few weeks time. We've realised that will need to begin expressing as a minimum even earlier than we thought, mainly because I got confused and thought I could have a scan whilst breastfeeding that I apparently can't have ... but will deal with that in a week or so I think!! :)

Sictransitgloria · 13/03/2019 20:22

Congratulations @march19 ❀️

@caseofellen that sounds rubbish and very poor communication. At least you can focus on relaxing now though. Saw a post from one of those positive birth pages saying the best way to bring on labour is to relax and immerse yourself in your cocoon. I mean, sounds great, but really we are all gonna be popping the pineapple and raspberry leaf tea waiting for any sign!

@sheeni @jenlou1992 lots of my friends had absolutely no symptoms, they just went into labour. Try and take every day as one step closer to meeting your baby - easier said than done!

I still seem to be (tmi) passing snotty mucus today and have the clear ewcm too. No other symptoms. I’m only 37+4 so I think I’m gonna try ease up on the old symptom spotting. Mucus doesn’t necessarily mean imminent labour and I have barely nested! I don’t feel prepared at all!

HidCat · 13/03/2019 21:18

@CaseofEllen I'm sorry you had a worrisome couple of weeks but glad things are looking ok. I've been frustrated by the consultant care here sometimes as they just fob you off a bit if it's not something they regard as major, like you're not worth their time. Maybe worth a complaint in your case?

@Sheeni my first pregnancy I had no symptoms whatsoever before I went into labour. Literally went to bed at 11pm as normal and woke up an hour later in active labour. I think it was blissful ignorance but this time I've been far more aware!

Got my 40week appointment with my midwife tomorrow. May request an exam if not offered to see if there's anything going on. Lots of tightenings and pains again today so both me and hubby are fed up of it coming to nothing. Come on baby!

Gronk27 · 13/03/2019 21:49

I’ve had to do this in a word document and copy and paste Grin

Actually my due date today but nothing doing. Midwife said head was β…– engaged. Didn’t actually offer me a sweep. I got sent a appointment months ago for my β€˜overdue’ appointment so I will discuss sweep, induction, etc next Thursday. Although the midwife said I can book in for a sweep on Tuesday if β€˜I’m desperate’. I want things to start naturally if possible saying that I don’t want to be induced if I can avoid it and neither do I want to go over 42 weeks and become β€˜high risk’. So if I don’t start before think I will accept a sweep on Thursday.

@ballanj Ooh exciting!

@soboredofwaiting Congratulations!

@assumeitwassomethingclever Oh no! That’s crap. Hope the electrics aren’t too costly.

@mistakeholiday hope things kick off for you!

@March19 congratulations!

@mymumdimensionjumps I know what you mean, I’m personally trying to stay active!

@jenfur more rolling than kicking is how I would describe it, sometimes I can see her moving but not so much feel it! Still always get checked out if you’re worried.

@caseofellen how rubbish, did you at least enjoy having an extra scan? Although not sure how much you can see at this stage! As you say you’re happy all seems fine and it can start naturally but terrible communication and very rude and no need for you to go through all that worry for no reason!!

@sharonO225 No worries! I didn’t want you thinking everyone was ignoring you.

@cardboard33 my bump’s defo lower! When we went out on Friday and everyone said you’re far too high she won’t be here anytime soon despite the fact they can drop on the day!

@hidcat I asked if it was worth ever just having an examination to see if anything was happening and the midwife said no, she said β€˜you’ll know if you’re in labour’ and otherwise they’ll just do a sweep to try and get the hormones going and that no-one ever wants β€˜just’ an examination. But of course ask anyway! I’m sure they’ve all got different answers haha! And especially if you think things have started it might be different.

SquirtlesMumAgain · 14/03/2019 01:08

Congratulations @march19 :)

Delighted to say baby Alice was born at 10. 15pm and is a tiny 5lb 9oz and currently fast asleep on Daddy! Was a bit of a stressful labour as the pessary worked too well and I had to have 2 doses of a drug to slow down contractions and the midwife had to move something out of the way that hadn't quite opened enough to get her out but we got there on gas and air in the end (whilst they were prepping theatre!)

Sorry if I have missed anything else - been a manic day!!!

Wineandchoccy · 14/03/2019 03:09

@SquirtlesMumAgain massive congratulations she is beautiful and I love her name. She is tiny what weight did the growth scans predict?

SharonO225 · 14/03/2019 04:17

Congratulations @SquirtlesMumAgain she is beautiful, she'll be like a little living doll at that size 😍 x

Jenlou1992 · 14/03/2019 04:46

Congratulations on baby Alice she is beautiful .

Currently sat lay awake listening to the rain . Can not sleep . It's so rubbish the thought that I could still potentially be another 2 weeks. (40weeks on Friday) makes me feel so upset . I am totally done being pregnant. Hate that I feel like this and then get even more upset for moaning . Everyone is like make the most of it because u won't have any time when baby is here but all I want is baby here then everything is worth while etc .

Hope Every one nearing there due date is managing better than me x

CaseofEllen · 14/03/2019 06:18

@SquirtlesMumAgain congratulations! οΏΌ

@Jenlou1992 I'm 39 weeks today and feel exactly the same. Finding it so hard and trying to remind myself it's only 2 more weeks maximum isn't really helping! Then I feel crappy and ungrateful for moaning and I also feel really needy of my DP - just want to be around him all the time! Poor bloke πŸ˜‚ 'this too shall pass' sending you Thanks&Cake xx
