Sorry, can't think of a more exciting title!

Such a chatty bunch that we're racking up the threads now. Can anyone share the link for the Google Docs spreadsheet? The one I tried didn't work.

Thanks!

We’ve got two mini breaks abroad coming up, this month and next, just for a few days at a time on our own which will be lovely. We had a week abroad with dd in October, her first time abroad but she’ll have to wait awhile for the next! She loves caravan holidays so I’ll think we’ll do a few of those once baby arrives.

BeckyButterfly · 12/02/2019 21:11

Off topic of holidays but, after tonight’s yoga class, the bump decided to become less of a bump and more of a boulder!! Could barely see my feet 😂 I think there’s a bit of trapped wind in there!!

wombatron · 12/02/2019 21:20

We're off to Fuerteventura in April for a few days for ours. It was one of the only places at that time of year that wasn't stupid expensive, had good weather and zero risk of the Zika virus. I've also got enough leave to take another few days in May or June if I would like to, or I can go a week earlier onto my annual leave before my maternity leave.

Yukka · 12/02/2019 21:41

Holidays - yes we're off to majorca for a week in April, I'll be about 25 weeks. Its only 2 hours flight from us and 30 mins on the otherside so really easy trip.

We have a spa break end of the month for my 40th, but that's about as exciting as it gets for me! Prob treat myself to a glad of champagne at some point.

My bump seems to have all merged today, like its risen up so I have one bump instead of low baby splodge and the rest that's 'just me' :)

RoseBud2016 · 12/02/2019 23:19

Becky looking amazing! Smile Beautiful bump.

Holidays- we are going to Italy at the beginning of April for a week with our 19 month old and DHs parents.
Then we’ve booked 16 nights in Croatia for the first 2 weeks of May, just the 3 of us. I’ll be 28-30 weeks. Can not wait!

We absolutely adore travelling and having our Daughter has not stopped us one bit... making the most of her free place before she turns two!

We also did a babymoon before DD was born at 28-30 weeks pregnant to Tenerife. It was the perfect time to go for me, it was before I got too uncomfortable and before I started suffering with swollen legs and feet. Highly recommend it! X

StargazyDrifter · 12/02/2019 23:41

Oh Kentishgal that really is rotten luck! Glad you're ok, or at least in one piece, and that your co-resident is all safe and sound in there. Really feel for you, it's like this stuff builds in layers - the more tired and not recovered you are, the more sticks to you. You need all the rest and pampering you can get! Look after yourself.

Trying2bemum how lovely about the heartbeat 💜. Like BeckyButterfly my place doesn't let you listen til much later and I found that really hard! Your Como trip sounds ace, btw! I've been trying to drink more too for the keytones but I just don't fancy food to drink so all a bit of a struggle.

About a getaway, we're going away over Easter to a rural UK place with a spa. Even though we generally travel lots and love it, I've been so out of sorts and kind of reluctant to go abroad this pregnancy. I think the three losses last year and high risk/increased anxiety this time around don't help. It's a bit illogical perhaps, but even if it's a placebo effect, whatever works! Also want to try and get to the seaside in May, if we can. Maybe Cornwall.

I'm generally quite clumsy, and have two left feet at the best of times, but have really been noticing it lately. Both in my coordination and in my speech/typing/copying people in emails (!). Been like this a couple of weeks now. Assuming it's the tiredness and maybe less blood flow in brain?

Is anyone else's belly button turning inside out from the bump?! Mine is... does it flip back in again after birth? I kind of liked it how it was!

StargazyDrifter · 12/02/2019 23:48

BeckyButterfly that's a lovely, blossoming bump! Looks very toned to me, mine is closer to a jelly all round!

Chinks123 · 13/02/2019 00:12

@StargazyDrifter my bellybutton popped out towards the end last time, you could see it sticking out through T-shirt’s etc. I’m very happy to say it went back to normal after birth!

StargazyDrifter · 13/02/2019 00:26

Phew! At least one thing will go back to how it was! 😉

OneMoreWish · 13/02/2019 02:36

Urgh went to doctors today they checked my son out but said it was just a viral infection and didn't bother checking me out as same symptoms

So I'm lying here with such a sore throat that really hurts when I swallow - anyone got any tips ? :(

Yukka · 13/02/2019 06:26

@onemorewish paracetamol and hot Manuka honey and lemon was my saviour in January x

Giraffe888 · 13/02/2019 07:25

We’d love to get away before baby arrives but I just don’t think we can afford it. We’re in the middle of doing up our house so loads to do here then obviously need to buy everything for baby! So just don’t think it will happen x

thedust · 13/02/2019 08:57

We're going to Turkey for a week at the end of April as our final getaway, I can't wait. I'm also going away for a weekend in May to a cottage in Wales with some of my friends which should be fun - although I hope they don't all drink too much while I'm sat there sober!

Kentishgal · 13/02/2019 08:57

onemorewish I hope you feel better soon. I totally get the not wanting to go abroad at the moment stargazydrifter - I've not had the losses you experienced last time so I can imagine that only compounds the anxiety. We were due to go to Italy in March but I can't face it - given my current form I think it safest I stay on home soil! I travelled a fair bit and so thought I'd be one of those mums that took their kid everywhere - but aside from taking her on a cruise to Norway when she was about 18 months old (which I figured was quite safe) we've only taken her away in the UK, due to a combination of her being incredibly hard work and just not settling anywhere - cry cry cry, and some ill health which made me v anxious. Fingers crossed this one is more "adaptable". So we have a week in Suffolk planned for May but that's it!

StargazyDrifter · 13/02/2019 11:56

Like you Kentishgal I'd been imagining that we might do a few trips while I'm on mat leave. Hadn't even occurred to me to be anxious about the baby's health once born... but makes perfect sense that the first one is also the most worry-making! I guess we'll have to wait and see how they turn out. Apparently I was a v easy baby and slept a lot, and anywhere, up to 6 months. One of those would be nice for traveling with!

Capybaras · 13/02/2019 12:28

Unfortunately we won't be able to go abroad this year but hoping to have a baby moon somewhere in the UK around April/May time! Will be nice to just have some time to enjoy as the two of us before baby chaos!

Hows everyone feeling? I'm enjoying this second trimester normality and it's nice to feel the baby regularly wriggling around as it reassures me. Still nervous for our 20 week scan next week!

ReginaPhalange89 · 13/02/2019 13:48

So jealous of everyone going abroad ! 😭 Me and OH have never been abroad together and we've been together nearly 6 years 🙈 so depressing.

I'm losing the will to live while waiting on my test results . I really had my hopes up for today but so far nothing 🙈 if I don't get them til next week I think I might genuinely be in a nut house by then . Going crazy over here 🙈

Jxtina86 · 13/02/2019 13:49

No babymoon for us - we went away in December though so not that bothered. Think we're planning a few date nights though to make the most of it before baby arrives!

My nerves are also getting to me ahead of the 20 week scan next week. Baby is still bubbling away (the only way to describe it!) - was super active Monday all day and seemingly was exhausted as yesterday it only perked up in the evening (seems to love the sound/motion of the tram journey home...!)

Jxtina86 · 13/02/2019 13:50

@ReginaPhalange89 got everything crossed you hear sooner rather than later. Can't imagine how nerve wracking it must be.

Kentishgal · 13/02/2019 13:58

Aww reginaphalange89 I really feel for you, you must be going through hell, fingrs crossed it will be this week. stargazydrifter we've been lucky we've not had anything too serious, just a few times the gp has referred us up to hospital as she had temp of around 42/43 but I just think I'd be beside myself if we were abroad. I was a nightmare baby (apparently my mother used to lock herself in the shed!) so it's clearly pay back time!!

Jxtina86 · 13/02/2019 14:05

Also those who have cats that haven't been around babies- I mentioned that we were a bit worried about our nervous cat and what her reaction would be. They recommended stocking up on feliway in as many rooms as possible and also introducing a food supplement - they had one called KalmAid (Also suitable for dogs I saw on the package). It's a paste to mix in with normal food. Recommended to start it as soon as you can, especially if making changes to what rooms they can access etc (we're planning to start shutting ours out of our room in the next few weeks). No idea if it works but we've had good experiences with feliway so hoping an additional supplement will make the whole less traumatic for the fur babies (can we get something similar for us adults too?!? 😂😂)

Jxtina86 · 13/02/2019 14:05

Doh that meant to say I mentioned to our vets!!

Capybaras · 13/02/2019 14:25

@ReginaPhalange89 I really really hope you get your results soon! Can't imagine how stressed out you must be - I hate waiting for a phone call/email!

FuzzyPixel · 13/02/2019 14:28

reginaphalanage89, hoping you get the results soon too!

Just to add Jxtina86, Zylkene is another good one for cats and dogs (as recommended by a qualified behaviourist and vets) Smile

Jxtina86 · 13/02/2019 15:05

Thanks @FuzzyPixel! I'll try anything with our anxious one (not worried about the other cat - he's so chilled, it's unbelievable. Although handy given the poor thing as an eye ulcer so is constantly having drops and trips to the vet that he's completely unphased by. He even rubbed against the vet for fuss after his eye had been poked at!!)
