Sorry, can't think of a more exciting title!

Such a chatty bunch that we're racking up the threads now. Can anyone share the link for the Google Docs spreadsheet? The one I tried didn't work.

Thanks!

@Giraffe - I bought Jojo tights as well. They’re OK but a bit short in the leg. And the navy is too blue and not proper navy. I’m a size 8-10 with a 34 inch inside leg and always bought large tights pre pregnancy but didn’t want to buy large maternity tights as I’m not really a large person. At the moment am wearing standard extra large. Interested to hear tips. Especially if anyone has managed to acquire proper navy!

Have been feeling movements since about 18 weeks and they can now sometimes be felt from the outside. I had a feeling this would happen for the first time whilst I was away with the girls and it did. Poor DH was a bit disappointed. I probably should have lied. Gave him a good kick today though. The baby, not me I mean!

Trying2bemum · 13/02/2019 20:17

@Jxtina86 thanks for the cat tips - we're the same with ours, he's our baby we're obsessed we've had feliway for fireworks so will get that plugged back in closer to the time. He's also got to get used to being shut out of our bedroom at night, can't risk him finding a warm spot on baby to snooze...

@thedust I've got H&M ones and they're pretty robust - think they do a few different packs so maybe try another?

@DianaBlythe Tenerife sounds fun!

Am so exhausted today, still waking at 4am most nights and don't get back to sleep. Feeling quite light headed and weak today - combo of sleep deprivation and low iron I think. Just want to stay in bed tomorrow!!

FuzzyPixel · 13/02/2019 20:48

I bought some tights from next which were about £9 - I haven't had any problems with them yet.

Has anyone got any tips for dealing with over excited parents? We're receiving quite bit of unsolicited advice... as well as being told that they've ordered certain things. We know it comes from a well-meaning place, but can't help but feel it is a bit intrusive. We want them to be involved and excited, but do feel they're overstepping a little. The other thing is that we won't want to seem ungrateful, because we really are thankful - we're just not sure how to develop some new boundaries...

We are so lucky that our cat is the most chilled, we have the loveliest pics of him with DS as a baby. He is happy to be snuggled and poked.

Holiday wise, we have always taken DS wherever we fancied going (offroading in Iceland, skiing, long haul etc) so we are going to the middle East to visit friends in springtime before I get too huge. Flying with kids is pretty horrendous but then they are pretty portable once you get there. Don't want to miss out on travelling!

AnnaBegins · 13/02/2019 21:03

Fuzzy Can you suggest that the things they've bought would be perfect for staying at their house if you don't like them? Sympathy - overexcitement is difficult to deal with.

Capybaras · 13/02/2019 21:14

@thedust John Lewis maternity tights are soooo good! Tried the jojo ans mothercare ones too and they were constantly falling down. Haven't had that problem at all with JL. They're pricey - £9 a pair but I'll pay anything not to be walking around constantly pulling up my tights!

TheScaredyKat · 13/02/2019 21:52

@FuzzyPixel I know what you mean about over excited parents! We live over the other side of the country from my parents and my Mum has announced that she is coming to stay with us before baby comes and for several weeks afterwards!! I feel bad because I know she doesn't want to be so far away from us but we can't have her in the house for all that time she'll drive us both nuts!
DH and I are agreed that definitely up until and for at least a couple of days afterwards we'd like to be on our own with baby before anyone comes visiting. When they do come visiting it would be nice if they had their own place to go back to, our house is tiny and we'll have enough on our hands without having to look after guests aswell.
I'm hoping Mum will realise on her own that it's not sensible but not so far 🙄

SnailorSwift · 14/02/2019 06:06

😩 think I've a UTI. Went home early from work yesterday feeling absolutely horrific...tired, hot, nauseous, really agitated, just generally really 'off'. Been running to the loo non stop, literally the second I pee I feel like I'm needing to go again 🤦🏼‍♀️

Twistering · 14/02/2019 07:15

So far behind, still lurking a bit but work is so hellish I barely remember I’m pregnant half the time :( feeling very guilty about stress levels. hope you are all good, except you poor @Snailor and @Regina really hope you get some good news and v v soon, must be agonising xx

On the plus side, booked a hol to Morocco in April and DH won a spa trip through work so nice stuff to look forward to.

Jealous of all the movement... I’m 20 weeks next week and while I think I can maybe feel the odd thing going on down there, definitely not distinct or that obvious. Anyone else??

Great news @ReginaPhalange89 💕

Kentishgal · 14/02/2019 12:41

Ah fantastic reginaphalange89 - what a relief - and congratulations on the boy! Hopefully one day it'll be available on the NHS to stop more people going through unnecessary worry. Bet that's the best Valentine's day present?

cravingmilkshake · 14/02/2019 12:49

Massive congrats @ReginaPhalange89 - made me tear up a little bit! Very good news indeed! Xxx

BirthdayKake · 14/02/2019 13:02

Aww brilliant news Regina ❤️

ReginaPhalange89 · 14/02/2019 13:48

Thanks all, yes definitely such a great Valentine's day !

I really don't think they should do the NHS screening tbh, the number of people I've heard of that have gone through similar , the amount of stress it puts a pregnant person through! It's awful.

I'm just so pleased we can move past it now and enjoy it, it's my last pregnancy and I wanted to enjoy every second, two weeks wasted worrying over nothing !

Giraffe888 · 14/02/2019 13:57

@reginaphalange89 I’m so pleased for you all, what fantastic news. You can relax and enjoy your boy news now x

Chinks123 · 14/02/2019 14:06

Congratulations @ReginaPhalange89 brilliant news!! You must be so relieved.

I’ve decided I’m going to go for a private scan on Monday to find out the sex! All girl guesses when we posted scan photos, very excited to see if people were right.

reeny19 · 14/02/2019 16:24

Excellent news Regina! Now you can just sit back and enjoy it Grin

You guys are making me want to go on holiday so badly... it was something I was really looking forward to but since finding out I was pregnant I’m quite nervous about going abroad in case I need any medical treatment - what if something goes wrong? 😨 I think we’ll probably give holidays a miss this year.... as much as I don’t want to....

Just had my 16week appt and feeling very reassured. My hospital sounds very patient choice oriented. If you want a c-section, you can have one. If you want a home birth and are low risk - no problem. If you want a water birth, they’ve never known a pool not being available. It’s so nice to know as I have no clue what I’m doing and am very scared about the birth, but looks like whatever I feel I need they’ll be supportive. Such a weight off my mind you hear a lot of horror stories on mumsnet about people being denied choices etc.

Now to look into antenatal classes.... got a lot of researching to do

AIDE2424 · 14/02/2019 16:31
