Sorry, can't think of a more exciting title!

Such a chatty bunch that we're racking up the threads now. Can anyone share the link for the Google Docs spreadsheet? The one I tried didn't work.

Thanks!

@cravingmilkshake I totally missed your post! Congratulations. It seems mostly boys after the last few announcements. Exciting!

StargazyDrifter · 10/02/2019 23:00

wombatron that's really helpful, thank you!

RooKangaroo I think we should add 'a morning gag' to this thread's growing lexicon. 😂 That's exactly how it is though. Something to chuckle over in the mornings.

Fuzzy it sounds like you've done brilliantly and that you have a marvellous DH. I've reached a strange point in that I had a bit of a mixed childhood and have always just sort of pushed that to one side. But now it's almost time to relive childhood again in a way, I am so keen to make sure everything is better, even though I know all the baby needs is a stable home and won't care either way which ridiculously named pram they get. Sometimes that tends to tip into anxiety. The sessions I've had have been quite helpful picking over it all.

BeckyButterfly · 10/02/2019 23:17

Also, @FuzzyPixel I have an anxiety disorder which I was diagnosed with when I was around 19 (although it has always been there) so I completely understand all things anxiety. TTC and pregnancy have been very difficult for me to the point where I have said to my hubby that I would potentially consider adopting if we were to want another baby in the future. So if anyone ever needs any one to talk to about anxiety and things like that, they are welcome to ask me about it. I’m pretty open and honest about everyrhing I feel and do as a result of my condition.

blueeyedviking · 11/02/2019 07:08

Morning all.
You guys have inspired me to look at prams how. Thanks for all the tips! I definitely need one that is easy to travel with.

@StargazyDrifter & @beckybutterfly - thank you! I'll also start end of this month and go to a few shops as suggested.

We are starting refurb of the house stag 2 today. All the windows are being replaced, then after that painting so more, fixing the garden and then the nursery Smile

TwinkleDay · 11/02/2019 07:27

20 week scan today guys, 15.40 getting anxious ... back to work today after a week off.. so that should take my mind off things with the redundancy/ reshuffle catch up for the first part of the morning. Great.

ReginaPhalange89 · 11/02/2019 07:31

@wombatron the Joie 360 is a great car seat, it actually rear faces up to 4 years not 2!
:)

AIDE2424 · 11/02/2019 07:41

Just catching up had a busy busy few days at work off down to Birmingham today with work. Midwife in the morning which I’m looking forward too and then private scan next Saturdah to find out the gender!
I have 0 bump yet still wearing my high waisted skinny jeans, but I’ve lost 20 lbs since the beginning of my pregnancy so that maybe why? Hoping the get one soon!

Hope your all well ❤️

Giraffe888 · 11/02/2019 07:49

Hope all goes well today @twinkleday

wombatron · 11/02/2019 08:12

Regina I thought I read that, but thought it was somewhat based on the height and weight of the child and didn't want to misquote. Thanks for that.... further cements my plan to purchase! I plan to be rear facing as long as possible.

I have my midwife appointment today. Dreading it to be honest. Has anyone been community led before? I get zero contact back for days if I reach out.

wombatron · 11/02/2019 08:13

And good luck today twinkle

FuzzyPixel · 11/02/2019 08:22

Thank you StargazyDrifter and BeckyButterfly, I try to be really open about it too. I was in an unlucky place where the information I had to deal with at work was impacting on me severely at home. Luckily, a change in role and CBT have really assisted. I think the unpicking things and retraining your mind to go along a different route really helped.

Ahh, we considered a car seat that goes up to age 4 rear facing, but DH decided that for the first six months, he'd feel safer popping baby into a car seat and then taking the car seat to the car, rather than carrying baby to the car. We have a drive, so it's not like we're facing a busy road, but I guess it is his preference for those times that we might be. It's all so interesting.

HchyScott · 11/02/2019 09:09

@TwinkleDay exciting! All the best for today, are you finding out the gender?

StargazyDrifter · 11/02/2019 09:45

Everything crossed for you TwinkleDay! I think you're one of the first ones?

blueeyedviking that's quite a renovation! You guys sound super-organised.

A goldfinch landed on our balcony rail this morning as I was making breakfast. I'd never seen one before (FIL helped me work it out) and in any case we don't get many visitors apart from the odd sick pigeon! It was so pretty and kind of majestic. Set me up for the day! Maybe it's just hormones

FuzzyPixel · 11/02/2019 11:03

I can't quite remember who it was, but someone mentioned about prams getting stolen. I found the 'My Buggy Buddy Lock', it's less than £10 on Amazon. I am quite tempted by them! Smile

ReginaPhalange89 · 11/02/2019 11:25

@FuzzyPixel we had a normal newborn car seat to start with and once she's outgrown that we bought the extended rear facing one ! So you could technically have both. It's still worth the money even if you don't start using it til 9/10 months (when a baby usually outgrows the small seat).

FuzzyPixel · 11/02/2019 11:35

@ReginaPhalange89 I think having both is a great idea. Again, quite handy if a second baby happens to come along!

We were talking about car seats being put onto pram chassis the other day. One of the things the shop assistant said to me, was as much as seats have been safety tested, to remember that they haven't necessarily been tested with our choice of pram. He went on to highlight things like finger entrapment etc. Extra things to think about. Confused

ReginaPhalange89 · 11/02/2019 11:41

A lot of travel systems come with a car seat that can clip on these days , we have an oyster and an oyster car seat. It is handy to be fair , it makes life easy if you're only popping out somewhere quickly and the baby falls asleep or something ! I missed it once we moved her to the bigger seat and had to move her constantly if you're in and out the car !

ReginaPhalange89 · 11/02/2019 11:42

We kept the oyster newborn car seat and now I'm tempted to buy a different one as it's purple and we are now having a boy 🙈😂 so annoying

ReginaPhalange89 · 11/02/2019 11:46

Also sorry to change the subject .....

This week feels like time is standing still 😭😭 I am literally checking my emails every 10 minutes for these Harmony results. I can't take it anymore 😭

StargazyDrifter · 11/02/2019 11:51

FuzzyPixel that was my DH! Thank you!

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 11/02/2019 12:26

@ReginaPhalange89 hopefully it won't be much longer. Did you have the test done at your hospital or privately? I was told they would call me with the result (had the IONA) but I called them in the end as they hadn't called when they said they would!

ReginaPhalange89 · 11/02/2019 12:45

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts it was a private clinic , apparently it can take up to 7 working days so I could be waiting a while really since they'd only have got sent off on Thursday morning !

The woman at the clinic said they email the results but I'll likely get a phone call we well if the results are positive. I just know I'm going to shit myself every time my phone rings 🙈

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 11/02/2019 12:50

@ReginaPhalange89 the unknown and the waiting is very scary. We had to wait 10 working days for our results as there was a backlog after Xmas. It was torture. I've got everything crossed for you xx

ReginaPhalange89 · 11/02/2019 12:52

Oh God that's ages! Thank you. Trying to think optimistically but just keep thinking it's going to be bad news !

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 11/02/2019 13:02

@ReginaPhalange89 I know that I'm very emotional at the best of times and always sway between expecting the worst to being very positive.
