Sorry, can't think of a more exciting title!

Such a chatty bunch that we're racking up the threads now. Can anyone share the link for the Google Docs spreadsheet? The one I tried didn't work.

Thanks!

@Onestep2 I'm doing pregnancy yoga and lots of walking! Haven't found an antenatal swim class close to me yet!

I'm 18 weeks now and think I'm starting to show - it's been obvious to me/family for a while but now I'm starting to pop a bit! Not fully pop but a little pop! Probably doesn't help that I've always had a bit of a belly so maybe not quite so obvious as on someone with a flat stomach!

Chinks123 · 05/02/2019 09:22

Thankyou everyone! A friend said not to, but now I’ve had all your advice (especially from a hairdresser!) I’ll get those greys covered!! My skins not great at the minute, so it will make me feel better.

I’m 14 + 4 today, and bump has popped. I’ve now told my dad as it was obvious but still yet to announce properly. Dp looked at me the other day and said “I swear it wasn’t this big the first time round.” It’s very obvious I’m pregnant now I think, it’s very round!

Onestep2 · 05/02/2019 09:31

@capybaras ive actually been looking at yoga and body balance as ive heard they are really good during pregnancy. how have you found yoga? Ive been lucky and well enough to have kept pretty consistant with exercise so far without many changes yet. i do a mix of a bootcamp twice a week, body attack, spin and a weights programme in the gym (depending on what i can be arsed doing). Ive found defo with body attack that i ive had to drop the high impact bounce (if anyone does body attack they will know what i mean)

@chinks123 enjoy the pamper of getting your hair done. Every little counts. I always feel brilliant after getting my hair done.

FuzzyPixel · 05/02/2019 09:38

I'm so relieved about the hair dying! I have a hair cut booked next month in a Salon a few 100 miles away from home, but it would feel wasted if I was covered in those pesky greys!

I've been watching a few parenting vloggers recently which has been helpful. Even just to help me connect a bit more with being pregnant. I have not yet bought any skin care for the bump, and it is definitely starting to grow. I think I'm going to put an order in this week for some new bits. Still need to order some maternity clothes too. Blush

I am hoping to start pregnancy yoga soon. Near me there are two options, one class is taught by a yoga instructor who also teaches pregnancy yoga and the other is taught by a midwife who subsequently trained in pregnancy yoga.

Still experiencing the very vivid dreams here. 16+4 now, and my 16 week midwife appointment is on Thursday. It is a group session combining an antenatal class, so that will be interesting.

Onestep2 · 05/02/2019 09:44

@fuzzypixel have a look at boohoos maternity range, ive found they have great range. i bought a lot at Xmas in boxing day sales and loved it all.

what are you thinking about using for the bump? im another one that hasnt evben though about skin care for when bump appears.

HchyScott · 05/02/2019 10:04

I’ve been prescribed a lotion for my acne by the doctor, yayyyy!! I’m hoping it’ll help even if it’s just abit it’ll make such a difference to me😁

FuzzyPixel · 05/02/2019 10:06

Thank you @Onestep2, I will check them out.

I love Sukin products for my face, so I'm going to have a search through their products to see if they have anything suitable to try. If Sukin don't have anything, I'll have a look at a couple of the other brands I tend to use.

I used bio oil when I had a laparoscopy, and my scar is not noticeable at all - obviously. I can't measure whether it would have been noticeable without using bio oil. I'm not sure I'd use it again though, the ingredients aren't as clean as I'd usually like them.

I've been really tempted to buy The Expert Midwife gift set which contains their 'Fantastic Skin Elastic' because I know I will be buying their 'Spritz For Bits'. It has rave reviews.

My skin care routine is quite basic really, but I do think there something nice about bonding with the bump in another way.

Capybaras · 05/02/2019 10:13

I've found the pregnancy yoga really good @Onestep2 - it has a good mix of stretching/strengthening and relaxing (my favourite bit) so will definitely try to keep it up until the baby is here!

I've been using the bloom and blossom anti-stretch mark oil since I've been about 12 weeks now. Wasn't cheap (£24 I think) but it's lasting me a fair while - using it once a day after my shower/bath. Although I think it may be a useless task as I have quite a lot of stretch marks on my thighs, hips and boobs so think they'll be inevitable unfortunately!

Haven't heard of my expert midwife so definitely will take a look!

FuzzyPixel · 05/02/2019 10:22

@Capybaras thanks! Good to know about the Bloom and Blossom oil, it's on offer at the minute on Look Fantastic too! ☺

Chinks123 · 05/02/2019 10:23

Thankyou @Onestep2! I was thinking of doing it myself at home but you’re right I think I should have a few hours to myself with some magazines and a bit of a relax.

Capybaras · 05/02/2019 10:29

Ohhhh going to have a look on there now @FuzzyPixel be worth sticking up if it's on offer!

Giraffe888 · 05/02/2019 11:37

I’ve been doing pregnancy yoga off YouTube as there’s nowhere local to me that does it.

I’m using palmers cocoa butter on my tummy and legs, a few people with children recommended it to me and it’s not expensive which is a bonus x

TwinkleDay · 05/02/2019 15:58

@FuzzyPixel I bought the mum to be package from midwife online. Used the oil for the last 4 weeks every other day to start and help. The kit comes with spritz for bits and the oil to massage into the perennial! Will be using that closer to the time. .. anything to help prevent tearing eek!!

I have the week off and have set about going through all the kitchen cupboards and drawers.. I think I might have to accept this will be the last time for a while it will happen and especially the fun game of match the tupper ware lol x

wombatron · 05/02/2019 16:49

Maybe a silly question.... can you even reach the perineal area at 34 weeks??? How do you manage to do this????

HchyScott · 05/02/2019 17:16

@TwinkleDay I’ve just done that exact thing, went to Tesco and bought the big clear storage boxes, boxed up everything we don’t use in the kitchen for my sister when she buys her first home, boxed up all the wedding stuff we were keeping in the understairs cupboard ready for the loft, did all the filing and then cleaned the whole house... don’t over do it like me, my back is very much protesting right now 😩

FuzzyPixel · 05/02/2019 17:18

@TwinkleDay I am really tempted by the kit.

I don't envy your kitchen sorting. We have soooo much to do in the house before the baby arrives. DH keeps adding more jobs to the list whereas I just want to sleep for now.

I have no idea @wombatron but, I will definitely be talking DH into doing it if I can't reach... Blush tearing is a bit of a fear of mine - one of my lovely friends decided to tell me that you can tear upwards. Shock

TwinkleDay · 05/02/2019 17:33

@FuzzyPixel tear upwards!! Oh my god!! Honest I will try anything I don't want stitches if I can help it in the height of summer!

It's me with the list of jobs this week

Jxtina86 · 05/02/2019 17:58

Are you supposed to do the perinium massage just at the end or throughout pregnancy? I didn't even know it was a thing until I read about it in my hypnobirthing book - what an insight! I knew tearing was a possibility- my mum's advice was to ask for a woman to do the stitches because 'they understand'... 😯😂😂

In less 'ouch' news - has anyone felt any movements? I'm 18 weeks today and I swear I had some popping sensations earlier that for once didn't feel like gas-related. But I don't really know what I'm looking out for!!

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 05/02/2019 18:12

@Jxtina86 I think I felt baby for the first time today. Pretty sure it wasn't gas. It's so exciting to think I can feel baby now

Jxtina86 · 05/02/2019 18:17

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts very exciting! I text DH and told him - his response was 'Have you asked anyone on that forum thing you go on?!'

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 05/02/2019 18:21

@Jxtina86 I haven't told my OH yet. He'll probably ask "are you sure it's not gas?" Grin
I really hope I'm right.. I'm laying here desperately thinking hoping to feel it again

Chinks123 · 05/02/2019 18:42

I had second degree internal tears last time as well as grazing. So you couldn’t see any damage but it was really painful Blush Obviously. I was never told about Perinium massage, I’ll be asking at my next midwife appointment.

Capybaras · 05/02/2019 19:37

@wombatron I think your partner has to do it for you after a certain point! I've already asked my DH if he'll do it for me (also asked if he'll shave my bikini line for me as well once I get too big Grin)

I've been feeling movements now since 16 weeks (18 now) wasn't sure if they were movements at first but I'm pretty sure they are now! I definitely
Notice it more in the evenings, and if I've had a cold sugary drink too! It's so weird to be getting to that stage!

Capybaras · 05/02/2019 19:38

The tearing thing petrifies me (as does episiotomy) it makes me feel really faint when people talk about it. I'm going to be useless in antenatal classes!

BeckyButterfly · 05/02/2019 20:07

@Capybaras I am just pretending these things don’t exist at this point! 😂

I can’t wait to start to feel movement. I hope it happens sooner rather than later.
