Sorry, can't think of a more exciting title!

Such a chatty bunch that we're racking up the threads now. Can anyone share the link for the Google Docs spreadsheet? The one I tried didn't work.

Thanks!

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts yes I am, our course is in May, my sister and her husband massively recommended it so I thought we’d go for it!
@wombatron this one is a local one at oxford uniteds football stadium so I’m going with 3 of my best friends one of whom is 22 weeks pregnant for abit of a girly day out then there’s one on 17th March in Milton Keynes which is very close to us so me and DH will go to that, I’ll be 24 weeks then so hopefully we can do the major buying then!

Squ1ggle · 04/02/2019 09:03

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts yes we're going to do the NCT essentials course. We didn't for ds (just did the 1day NHS one at the hospital) as we were trying to buy a house and not settled on area but I struggled a bit socially last time so I'm hoping to make a few good friends through it

StargazyDrifter · 04/02/2019 09:40

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts also doing NCT, from memory in May. It's the signature one and we booked ages ago but were still in two minds because the hospital ones seemed good too. But there's been a lot of confusion about booking into the NHS one - hospital website says book at 16 weeks and no later, but the MW I saw practically laughed and said it was way too early to book. She didn't care what was written on the website and said it was 'wrong'. MW receptionist didn't know either. So I get the impression we've missed out on that one and will stick with NCT.

pusscous · 04/02/2019 14:16

We haven't started buying yet either, almost 15 weeks. After 10 miscarriages, some late some early, I'm struggling to commit to the pregnancy emotionally in some ways- other
ways really excited, but previous times I have bought a teddy already for the baby. I have a few as momentos from the previous losses, this time I haven't and I feel really sad about it. I have though had plenty of time to reflect on what I actually need compared to how I live and research products. Despite dd we need to replace cot and crib, car seat and baby carriers. I've narrowed down cot, crib and carriers and have provisionally chosen the car seat- just need to see it in person before we order, dh has agreed with my choice after seeing the research normally he likes to choice the car seat himself. We've selected the Kiddie Evoluna i-size 2 that has passed the German safety tests extremely well. It's one of the most expensive on the market, (not why I chose it) but I have had so many crashes driving around the Paris region where we live, that I feel safer driving her with a newborn with such a seat.

TwinkleDay · 04/02/2019 14:17

We are doing nct booked in jan for end of April start of May x

Trying2bemum · 04/02/2019 14:52

I think we will do NCT too - should probably get that sorted.

Feeling really rough today - drained, nauseous, hot and cold. Maybe am coming down with something. Feel kind of heavy in tummy area and lots of niggly pains and sensations. Anyone else been like this? Am 15+5 today

Giraffe888 · 04/02/2019 15:18

@trying2bemum I’ve been getting a lot of pains/twinges in my tummy the past few days. I’m 15+2. Going to mention it to my midwife on weds x

Trying2bemum · 04/02/2019 15:21

Thanks @giraffe888 - its really disconcerting isn't it? I think it must be growing and stretching, but can't help worry!

Giraffe888 · 04/02/2019 15:28

@trying2bemum yes it is! I’ve just been googling it and I think it’s round ligament pain? X

Capybaras · 04/02/2019 16:14

I've just come on to ask about stomach pains! Been having the odd little stabbing pain quite high up - above my belly button where I assume is too high for the baby to be yet at 18w! Hurts more if I walk quickly so assuming it's weird stretching pains!

Trying2bemum · 04/02/2019 16:26

Some of it at least must be ligaments @giraffe888 @capybaras. Mine are a bit random - sometimes down the sides, sometimes low down into my foof and pelvis.

Feeling so so crap, have come home from work.

BeckyButterfly · 04/02/2019 17:23

@Trying2bemum I felt like crap last week, was in bed for 3 days.

I’m totally out of touch with all these baby shows and NCT things. I asked MW about antenatal classes but she said I’ll get info in the post at some point. Should I be looking for other classes as well? I haven’t looked to see if there is a baby show up my way but will do, I suppose it could be useful. I’ve talked my husband’s ear off so much about prams that he said last night that we are going to a shop this week sometime 😂

Chinks123 · 04/02/2019 17:28

Has anyone continued dyeing their hair in pregnancy? I didn’t last time but my greys are really coming through. I’m only 24 but do have a lot of greys..I’m not too bothered as I usually go months without. Google says it should be fine I just worry a little.

Giraffe888 · 04/02/2019 17:33

@chinks123 I heard to avoid it in the first 12wks so I didn’t do it and I’ve waited a few extra weeks. Going to do it this week (well DH is as he does it for me😂)

Capybaras · 04/02/2019 17:41

Yeah I think it is ligaments @Trying2bemum I'm starting to pop now so may be to do with that!

Don't think we're going to do the NCT classes just because of money and the fact I know quite a few people having babies this year so hoping I'll see them a lot!

StargazyDrifter · 04/02/2019 17:48

About the pains, I've been having them too - weird vertical stitch-like stuff, horizontal pains across the belly, sometimes pain in lower back, also sometimes random gurgling pressure and tummy pain (like if you have a v v bad tummy, but not the other symptoms). There is also this strange thing where I bend down and my belly feels sort of hard and crunchy. Pains got quite bad on Saturday when we walked home and we had to get an Uber back instead. Had a reassurance scan today and all was fine. 😊 Sonographer seemed to think this is all quite normal.

Chinks I dye my hair and have carried on. It's only the 20 min semi permanent one and reseach online suggested it was safe these days. Hairdresser agreed. So far no ill effects that I can make out. Given how rubbish I feel all round with (still!!!) the nausea and sickness it's nice to hold on to something normal about the usual me, if that makes sense.

pusscous hugs to you, that's a lot of losses 💐

HchyScott · 04/02/2019 17:49

@Chinks123 yes I’ve had mine done every 6 weeks as usual and I’m a hairdresser so am in contact with colour every day, we are never worried about colouring pregnant ladies hair but it’s their personal choice.

RooKangaroo · 04/02/2019 18:34

Yes, I had highlights done the other day. I did wait until after 12 weeks, but it's also because I'm lazy and get them done so rarely (once every six or twelve months).

I was feeling pretty low about my appearance, particularly with spots and things. I wanted to cheer my self up by having better hair.

I found the smell of the dye pretty nasty, but I think it's heightened by the nausea and sickness. I'm glad I had it done - my hair looks a lot better.

Hair dye ✔️
NCT class ✔️ (May)
Pregnancy yoga class ✔️
Antenatal aquarobics ✔️
hypnobirthing ✔️ (Also may)

I don’t know what else I can do to make birth as easy as possible. Watch now I’ll end up with a c section 🤦‍♀️ Won’t be meditating myself through that!

StargazyDrifter · 04/02/2019 20:11

That's a very impressive list, Yukka! I vaguely looked a a pregnancy swimsuit in the shops today and even that was too much effort. 😂

BeckyButterfly · 04/02/2019 20:20

I can’t find any pregnancy exercise classes anywhere near me. The only baby show is in May and it really doesn’t look like a very impressive one. I might think about signing up to some NCT courses but they aren’t that close to me either and I already have to travel for 45 mins to get to all my hospital appointments so don’t know how much more travel I want to add to that.

Onestep2 · 05/02/2019 06:13

I'm another one who's contuined colouring my hair. I actually got my BFP and then had to be in the hairdressers an hour later hahaha

Also have got our pram we went for the vennici 3 in 1 full travel system. We went to pram center for a play about and then I bought the travel system second hand and saved an absolute fortune. So happy with it. Can't wait till there is a real baby in it.

DH still working away for another few weeks as the house renovations contuine... been back staying with my mum. Had dinners made, washings done, ironing done, not had to lift a finger.... Don't know if I want to go back home hahaha

BirthdayKake · 05/02/2019 06:38

Onestep2 your mum sounds amazing ❤️

I'll be having my hair done as soon as I feel better!!

Just had a dream that I was trying on hot pants and high heels to be induced in... Shockingly they didn't fit lol.

No classes or exercise here. At 17 weeks I'm still nauseous and exhausted. My worst pregnancy yet!! Hopefully my good karma will be a nice birth

cathyj87 · 05/02/2019 08:03

@onestep2 we're looking at the venicci too, want to go back and have a go putting it up and down etc before I commit though. Did you find it easy to adjust etc?

Onestep2 · 05/02/2019 08:16

@cathyj87 yeah ive found it really easy to adjust and to unclip and change pram to travel seat and back. Lots of adjustments you can make to it as well to suit you.

@birthdaykake ma mum is just happy to have someone to fuss over lol

sorry so many of you are still feeling so ill and sicky.

is anyone still exercising a lot? i remember there was a good few still going to spin n things, just cant remember who they were. how are you finding classes and exercise? have you modified your workouts?

how are the bumps coming along? im 19 weeks and STILL no prominent bump. serious bump envy.
