@HarryHarry how'd she know you had a bleeding cyst without a scan Hmmannoying she messed up appointments just another day to sit and go through endless paperwork and blood test forms!

HarryHarry · 26/02/2019 12:51

@angel0071987 I had a scan a few weeks ago, before I knew I was pregnant, due to pain around my C-section scar. Now the doctor says pregnancy must be the cause of the pain, even though I had it for months before! She’s not the sharpest Confused

CantBelieveMyLuck · 28/02/2019 06:56

Hello ladies,

I've been quiet for a bit as I've been getting bad pain, I just feel totally washed out.

I had my scan last Weds and baby was upside down, but had a super heartbeat. I've been called in for my next scan at 10 weeks, I think they'll likely date it then for sure.

I need to get a note pad to remember everyone's names, I hope you're all doing superbly.

In the supermarket I was looking at newborn clothes, not to buy as it's way too early, but they're so tiny and cute. I saw a meme cartoon that was so lovely, a Mum lay down with a baby in her stomach with a little heart in.

I think it's finally settling in slowly.

How is everyone doing? Welcome to the new ladies.

katmarie · 28/02/2019 20:51

I had a meltdown at work today, combination of shitty colleague behaviour and hormones I think. Fortunately I've already told my boss in confidence, so that I can get out of work for appointments etc, and she was lovely. But I still feel like an idiot.

Nausea has calmed down a bit, thank god. I'm still getting the odd wave of it, but it's not as bad as last week. Mostly I keep having those horrible 'Am I still pregnant?' thoughts. I really can't wait until the scan, just to know for sure.

bowielove · 01/03/2019 11:09

Hi all,
I’m 8weeks+3 now but I had a scan at the early pregnancy unit yesterday and unfortunately I’ve lost the baby. I’d been light spotting on and off for a couple of weeks and they think it didn’t actually grow much more than since my last scan around 6 weeks. I’m feeling sad but it never felt quite right from the beginning, for some reason. I was still hopeful though so it was still quite a shock. Hopefully I’ll miscarry naturally soon and can get myself feeling better to start trying again. Good luck and healthy baby vibes to you all xxx

missrose0110 · 01/03/2019 16:09

@bowielove I'm really sorry to hear that, I went through a similar thing a few months ago and it's heartbreaking. Sending love. Take care of yourself Thanks

katmarie · 01/03/2019 19:07

@bowielove I am so sorry. Be kind to yourself x

HarryHarry · 01/03/2019 23:59

How is everyone feeling this week?

Worldtourist · 07/03/2019 14:17

Hi there - I have my first midwife appointment next week, but I think I am 7 weeks pregnant and due 23rd October with my first baby, ages 35. Not sure how I feel about it yet :)

Worldtourist · 07/03/2019 14:21

@katmarie - full of wind!! It is really very annoying as I work in an open plan office, so I have to keep going off to the loo to get all the gas out. No morning sickness, although mild nausea feelings when I am hungry. I think I have got off very lightly with that!

katmarie · 07/03/2019 20:41

@worldtourist that doesn't sound much fun but it is funny! I have a rotten cold, which is making me quite miserable, and still getting the nausea. Dr gave me cyclizine but I've had to stop taking it at work when it gave me an excruciating case of restless leg and massive drowsiness at the same time. But I have my booking in appointment on Monday which I am ridiculously excited about even though I've been through all this before. It feels like a milestone :)

Worldtourist · 08/03/2019 06:58

@katmarie I hope you're cold clears up really soon. That does sound miserable!

Worldtourist · 08/03/2019 07:00

Is anyone else getting headaches? I had a really severe one over the weekend, and I had one yesterday which hasn't gone and is a bit worse today.

HarryHarry · 08/03/2019 12:34

@Worldtourist The first time round, my nausea didn’t start til Week 10! I was feeling all smug thinking I’d got away without getting morning sickness. Then I threw up every day for the next 7 weeks! But you might be one of the lucky ones! I had headaches too but none this time so far.

Busylee5 · 11/03/2019 07:18

Hey im due 3rd oct. This is baby no5 but also 5th c section and dreading the hospital appointments cos the consultant makes me feel like im in the headmasters office 😞. This is my final pregnancy and a tie breaker for our house.

katmarie · 11/03/2019 09:01

The cold has turned into a chest infection. So I feel like I've been run over by a bus. Doctors advice is to ride it out. Basically they wont give me anything until I'm past the 12 week stage so I've taken to my bed in dramatic fashion.

Worldtourist · 12/03/2019 06:01

@katmarie oh no! That sounds horrendous :( I hope that your chest infection clears up quickly. Sending you get well wishes!

Catren · 15/03/2019 22:55

Poor you katmarie! I had antibiotics at 6w for my chest infection, I'm surprised they're not giving you anything to help. My gp said it was fine to take it. Hope you get lots of rest

katmarie · 17/03/2019 10:30

I've seen two doctors, a nurse and a midwife, and they all were determined not to prescribe me anything! A solid week off work and I'm starting to feel better now, thankfully. Looking forward now to my scan, booked in for 3rd April, two and a half weeks, seems like forever!

Worldtourist · 17/03/2019 19:03

@katmarie I'm so pleased you're starting to feel better :) the scan date is exciting! Mine is on 8th April, and then next midwife appointment on 2nd May. This is my first pregnancy so I'm still not sure what to make if it, and the appointments, etc. We've told most of the family now, but I'm holding off as long as possible to tell work, as they're doing performance reviews towards the end of April, and I'm hoping for a payrise, which I don't think would be considered if they knew I was pregnant and likely to take a year off!

When do people tell their boss they're pregnant (I've not been I'll with morning sickness so they're not suspecting anything at the moment).

Catren · 17/03/2019 20:38

Katmarie pleased you're feeling better! Ive got my scan on 2nd April, just near yours!

Worldtourist your work isn't legally permitted to change their promotion or pay rise plans due to your pregnancy but obviously some do so you're probably wise. Last pregnancy i didn't let work know until about 16 weeks as i could hide it quite well. Do what you're comfortable with though! And you don't have to tell them your maternity leave plans until 8weeks before you're off, and then again 8 weeks before you're back, so speak to your hr team to get all the information you need before you start getting questioned about it.

I'm freelancing and never ever see my clients so i don't think I'll tell them until my third trimester so they can replace me on my project with enough time but I don't want them to phase me out any earlier!

Ive had a headache for almost a day now and it's driving me mad. A solid 10 hours sleep (thank you dd for sleeping through!) didn't even fix it.. arrgghhh

ScottyAl · 20/03/2019 13:06

Afternoon All,

Can I join?! Currently 9 weeks with number 2. Very much a surprise but we are slowly getting used to the idea! Is there a Facebook group to join? I always find it easier to keep up with the group rather than the threads which move far too quickly for my brain!
