@KnobJockey with my first 2 I was nauseous for the first trimester but never sick. I guess anything can happen. I've already had 2 bouts of nausea.
I just want to keep an eye on it and not use pregnancy as an excuse to pig out, which I did before. I'll hopefully get tips for what to do when feeling sick etc

Thank you for the welcome and hope your both having a good weekend @Glitterandunicorns and @Peaky1

@KnobJockey hello it’s great to find another person with a big age gap! I completely agree that this time around should be easier, fingers crossed x

Steff6 · 27/01/2019 14:01

Hi all, just found out A few days ago were expecting #5 due around 1/10 😬 I’m 28 and will have a 2, 8, 10 & 13 year old by October! Super nervous that somethings going to go wrong I don’t know why! Anyone else just not able to relax?

Peaky1 · 27/01/2019 15:01

Welcome @Steff6 ! All hands on deck with the new baby then! Get them in training from the start I say 😆.

I'm only 4+1 according to my last period date so a long way to go. Nothing we can do other than be good to ourselves 😊

Hi there! I have just found out I'm pregnant again. A bit of a surprise as the first time it took a year and this time only a few months.
I'm 31
Have a 3 1/2 year old
Due first week of Oct.
I'm usually just an aibu lurker and wasn't really a mumsnet person in my first pregnancy so not certain where I should be looking.

Glitterandunicorns · 27/01/2019 19:18

Congratulations and welcome @Steff6 and @Tirednessandmoretiredness! Steff, I think it's pretty much normal to be anxious, especially in early pregnancy! I certainly am!

Tirednessandmoretiredness · 27/01/2019 20:06

I only have one and I'm anxious. And for some reason worried I'll shake it loose somehow..... possibly cos I didn't tell anyone first time round for ages but accidentally did over the weekend. It feels like pressure....

loveMyWeeDog · 28/01/2019 08:34

Hi ladies, I hope you all had a good weekend. I had some slight pinkish discharge when wiping this morning and panicked. I phoned the GP and have an appointment this morning.

So worried something might be wrong x

loveMyWeeDog · 28/01/2019 08:38

@Glitterandunicorns I was just reading back your earlier post about you getting a bit of spotting after a bowel movement. That’s exactly when I noticed my spotting x

Glitterandunicorns · 28/01/2019 09:20

Hi @loveMyWeeDog I'm sorry to hear you're going through this. I don't know whether it's helpful, but (touches wood) I haven't had any further spotting since then, and I've had a positive test since then, so I'm praying it was just one of those things.

Just a warning- being so early in your pregnancy, be warned that your GP may not do anything, as even with a scan, at this point they'd probably not be able to see much. I could be wrong, but I think it's common before six weeks or so for your GP to just tell you to wait and see, unless there is extreme pain or loads of bleeding.

Best of luck though. Thanks

Peaky1 · 28/01/2019 10:58

Hope it goes well @loveMyWeeDog let us know how you get on. I hear lots about spotting at this stage and everything being okay but that's easy for me to say! X

Glitterandunicorns · 28/01/2019 12:39

I clearly cursed myself by saying that, because today I've had a tiny bit of (TMI) red coloured discharge. It cant have been very much actual blood at all, but the presence of anything red has scared the beejesus out of me. I'm trying to be pragmatic about it and think that there's nothing I can do right now one way or another, but it's still pretty scary.

loveMyWeeDog · 28/01/2019 12:41

Hi ladies, thank you for your posts 💐

Just back from the GP and he did a pregnancy test and tested my urine for infection. My pregnancy test was positive, I’m so happy! My urine showed up some blood so he thinks it’s just a urine infection and my cervix might be just a bit irritated and that’s why I got a pinkish discharge so I’m feeling positive.

@Glitterandunicorns basically that’s exactly what the GP said that things look good just now but it’s early on and just wait and see. I’m going to try and hold on to that and hope for the best but it is scary waiting.

Thanks again for your support ladies 💐

ChocChip01 · 28/01/2019 14:23

Hi ladies,
Please can I join. I am hopefully due 27/09 (Sept thread is rather busy and date could get pushed back on dating scan anyway!).
I’m 32 years old. Have a 2 year old already. I’m 5+3 today. Haven’t really had many symptoms yet which is causing me to stress that something is wrong. I know it’s very early days... but feeling like time has really slowed down since I got my BFP just over a week ago!

Glitterandunicorns · 28/01/2019 14:35

Congratulations @ChocChip01!
I know what you mean about time slowing down! It's tricky isn't it; we often want all the symptoms for some reassurance, but those symptoms often make us feel poorly!

Figuringitout · 28/01/2019 18:22

@ChocChip01, I know exactly what you mean. I think I’m 5 weeks today and besides sore boobs and needing to wee more I am panicking that I don’t feel pregnant enough. I am already worrying that the scan will show something awful (sadly based on previous experience) and I am nervous about making contact with a midwife. Has anyone arranged a booking appointment yet? I’m going to wait until I get to 6 weeks, in case I don’t get there.

Figuringitout · 28/01/2019 18:23

Sorry, just read that back and realised how negative I sound. I’ve not told anyone in RL (besides DH obvs!) about the baby yet and so I think I just needed to get some worries out.
Hope everyone else is feeling less stressed!

Fleurbs · 28/01/2019 18:59

Hello! Hope it’s ok if I join? It’s nice to meet some other people to chat to about this!
Started TTC in September and got my BFP on Saturday at 15DPO. I’m 31 and we have a 4.5 year old. This one seems to have happened really quickly (DD was nearly 18 months in the making and I’ve had some fertility issues flagged since) so I am cacking myself that this is all too good to be true! No symptoms apart from sore boobs and some cramping but I had sod all last time so keep needing to remind myself of that.... it’s going to be a long first tri.

ChocChip01 · 28/01/2019 20:52

@Figuringitout” so sorry to hear you have had a bad experience previously Flowers. Fingers crossed it works out well this time. We must keep trying to remind ourselves that the odds of everything being ok are in our favour.

@Fleurbs” you are right every pregnancy is different some you get more symptoms than others. With my first I had sore boobs even before I got my BFP this time nothing so far.

ChocChip01 · 28/01/2019 20:55

@Figuringitout and @Fleurbs sorry didn’t tag you correctly

Peaky1 · 28/01/2019 21:54

Hey all newcomers 👋!

Isn't this a rollercoaster?! First you break your heart trying to conceive, a day of YIPPEEEEEEEEEEE when it finally happens and then back to stressing again! If I didn't laugh about it...

I've had tummy cramps since a few days before my (faint) positive test at 10dpo. It almost feels like I'm already further along and that freaks me out! Logically, I hope it's trapped wind etc but surely that wouldn't keep going for this long?! I'm going to cave and go for an early scan at around 8 weeks I think. I'll be on the lookout for extra heart beats 😅

Peaky1 · 28/01/2019 22:00

@Glitterandunicorns how have you been today after the episode this morning?

Did someone ask about booking midwife? I arranged my booking appointment for when I'm about 8 weeks (it was next available appointment anyway!) Must be busy times!

OP posts:
angel0071987 · 29/01/2019 07:42

Our midwives won't accept bookings until you're six weeks and arrange first appointment when 9-10weeks. Interesting when they have too many people to see and can't fit you in until nearer 11and half and then expect scans to be booked in under half a week!!! Stupid system and meant with my last had to travel to another town for appointment in order to get within their timeframe.
Not sure what's happening this time as will be consulatant led care due to recurrent and late misscariages, think I also have to see the midwives here too tho (not ideal as always found them to be really rude and condescending).

Glitterandunicorns · 29/01/2019 08:21

Hi @Peaky1. Yesterday I had another couple of episodes of slightly red coloured discharge (sorry for those eating breakfast!) but nothing since yesterday teatime, sky continuing to cross my fingers and pray it's all ok! Thanks so much for asking!

You were so right when you said that you spend all your time hoping to fall pregnant, then you do and for a brief moment you're delighted then it's just constant worrying!

Hope everyone is doing well this morning! Smile

Fleurbs · 29/01/2019 16:34

Fingers crossed for you glitter. No idea how to tag people so I’m not even going to try! Hopefully it all settles down and you don’t have to worry so much.

Peaky I’m also having an early scan. It is booked already in fact! I needed something to break up the wait.
