I'm pregnant with my first and 28 too! I'm due 4 days after you. I think I've felt little kicks but not all the time. 2 weeks today till our 20 week scan and I'm so excited!

sw2102 · 11/05/2019 11:42

I have been feeling flutters and things for a few weeks on and off. It's my second so I recognised the feeling much earlier than first time around. It's so nice to feel! Also excited for the 20 week scan in 2 and a bit weeks!

pri16 · 11/05/2019 23:08

Congrats to you both!!!
@Whowouldhavethoughtit so good to know we're in similar boats!
Good luck for the scans, mine's a week from Monday can't wait Smile
I've felt flutters but I feel them coming on a lot stronger now, super exciting! Xx

Whowouldhavethoughtit · 17/05/2019 08:24

Ok so mine are defo stronger now. Its not all the time but so nice to feel! Good luck for your scan, are you going to find out what you are having? I'm literally counting down the days!
I'm in so much pain with my pelvis at the moment, I can put my knickers on standing on one leg, I'm having to sit on the bed :(

pri16 · 17/05/2019 11:23

I'm not sure yet! I want to keep it as a surprise however if it's there infront of me and I get asked I'm not sure I have the willpower to say no....how about you?
I CANT WAIT!!! Monday could not come soon enough (for once! Haha)
Mine are getting stronger too, I think I felt a couple kicks on the outside, its so nice. Trying to get my husband to feep but baby never kicks when he's touching bump! It'll soon happen I'm sure :)
My balance is so off too! I can just about put my knickers and socks on standing up haha...its annoying but also makes sense i guess!
Hope everything else is going well otherwise @whowouldhavethoughtit

Whowouldhavethoughtit · 20/05/2019 16:40

How did it go?? Have you managed to keep it a surprise?
I dont think I could ever not know, I hate surprises so much!
I'm off to the drs this week for my pelvic pain this week. I'm not too sure what I can do but I need to see I guess.

pri16 · 20/05/2019 22:03

It went well thank you!!! Baby had most of its measurements but it just wouldnt lay on its back so the sonographer couldnt get all the pics of its heart. Got to go back in 2 weeks hopefully baby will cooperate lol!
Oh no, I hope your pelvic pain isnt too bad Sad hopefully theres something that alleviates it.
I couldn't not find out - I'm having a baby boy!!! I knew it! So many dreams about it being a 'he'!!!

HarryHarry · 30/05/2019 01:57

Found out today that we are having a girl! Couldn’t be happier!

sw2102 · 30/05/2019 13:35

Had our scan too and this time we are having a boy! Also have to go back for another scan as they couldn't get all the pictures of the heart either. Pleased I get to go again really!

Worldtourist · 27/06/2019 19:27

Wow! No messages since the end of May!! How is everyone doing? I am now 24 weeks along. We had our scan a month ago but decided not to find out the sex of Sprout so we have a really nice surprise when the decide to show up in October.
What are people doing at the moment to prepare? Is anyone attending antinatal classes yet? I tried to get on an NCT class, but I was going to end up missing 2/5 due to being on holiday and they are not running any more sessions locally until September when it is a Signature class rather than essentials, so it is a lot more expensive.
Hope everyone is well anyway, and looking forward to some posts back if people are still following.

Also- one final question. Could i be leaking the smallest amounts of milk at 24 weeks? I have been wearing a white bra for the last few days and have noticed a kind of milky coloured crust in the cup where my nipples would have been resting. I do find that at night, my nipples are a bit clammy and stick to my husband if I decide to snuggle up. Anyone else experiencing this?

Beeseeinya · 27/06/2019 22:08

Hello @worldtourist I'm still lurking. I find I haven't much to say at the moment, a little bit down in the dumps. Everything else is going well though at 25+4. She's really ramped up the kicking and swimming around in there this week which has been very reassuring.

I'm booked on NCT from mid July, not sure which one though! My midwife offered one at the local hospital which is a whole day on Saturdays so you could check and see what's available. She said I wouldn't need it if I'm doing NCT.

I keep hearing about people leaking early, so I bought some breast pads just in case! Hasn't happened yet. Seems to happen more with those who have previous DC. I did a double take yesterday as my nipples are very dark purple all of a sudden Shock

Worldtourist · 28/06/2019 04:38

Hello - good to hear from you! I hope you are not too down in the dumps? I find that I am fine most of the time, but I can suddenly get quite weepy, especially in the car on my own. A song lyric or something will trigger a thought process (usually something completely unreal scenario or something) and I find myself all upset. The car is not my safe place anymore (when I am on my own). Good to hear your little one is swimming and kicking. Mine has been quite alot the last week, but every time I say to hubbie come and feel the baby kicking it stops - I like to think this is baby's personality coming out and being cheeky!
re the nipple leakage - its no way near enough to notice even any dampness in my bra. There was just a very small crusty bit in each cup, which may have built up over a few days...
I will have to check out the hospital classes. I know they exist and are in August, so need to get my self in gear with that one :)
So nice to hear from someone! I hope you feel a bit more chipper soon - you know where I am at least if you wanted to get anything off of your chest. xx

moonsideboob · 28/06/2019 23:29

Hi, hope I can join in. I’m due the 19th with my 3rd baby and 2nd little girl

Worldtourist · 29/06/2019 09:29

Hello @moonsideboob - absolutely :) We have all been a bit quiet recently but hopefully we may pick up the conversation a bit :)
I am due with my first on 16th Oct. No idea what we are having other than a baby :)
How have you been during this pregnancy?

Beeseeinya · 29/06/2019 10:39

I think I've mentally lost it a bit, lately. I was suffering last night with major panic about everything. I am sick of being unwell constantly since January. I have no urge to do anything, just lie there like a zombie most days. I keep worrying about what happens when baby arrives, what if I'm like this and unable to care for her? Do I want a baby? Why have I done this?? I was in tears at 1am just panicking and feeling sorry for myself. Feel a little better today but can't shake the feeling of horror. I have loads of treatment lines up, therapy and what not in the next few weeks but can't imagine how it's going to rid me of this betraying feeling of guilt, that I am not sure I am fit to look after a child and have majorly fucked up.

Sorry for the downer! Just have nobody really to speak to about this at the moment.

To top it off I've woken up today with a cold. FML

moonsideboob · 29/06/2019 12:23

Worldtourist I was coping very well up until this bloody heatwave!. It’s been harder than my last two as I have a 4 year old and a 23month old to run around after, but other than that she’s been a treat.

Beeseeinya don’t be too hard on yourself, having a baby is such a big thing it’s only natural to worry. And your hormones are everywhere too which really doesn’t help, you’re pregnant you’re allowed to moan. Just stay open minded to therapy and it may change everything.

katmarie · 29/06/2019 13:47

Hello everyone. Still going here, 24 + 3. I've had three chest infections now and am dreading the next time i get a cold, but other than that, starting to feel properly pregnant now. Baby is wriggling around madly, and I have a nice solid bump. Not finding out what we're having but I keep having dreams that we're having a girl. So I suspect it's a boy lol! Anyone else having to have a glucose tolerance test? I have mine mid july.

cattaxi · 12/08/2019 09:02

Is anyone still about? I’m 30 weeks and due ds2 18th Oct, although hoping to have a section a few days before.
This is the first time i’ve looked for a thread. Shame it’s so quiet! Has everyone moved to a fb group?

2018isanewyear · 12/08/2019 15:00

I'm still about think most are on Facebook but I'm don't use it. Im 31+1 and die 13th October first baby.

How have you been getting on?

cattaxi · 12/08/2019 17:01

Hi @2018isanewyear! Congratulations!

I’m getting on ok. Had a rough start to the pregnancy with hyperemesis & some complications at the 12 week scan. But all is good now. I’m starting to get umcomfortable. But I’m only 5ft & my bump is 95th percentile, so not surprising really. Running after our almost 4 year old is getting harder every day!

How are you getting on? Are you all prepared? I loved the getting things ready stage with my first. A bit disappointed that all I get to do this time is dust stuff off from the attic!

Maybe if we get the thread going some more people will come to chat? I found the threads really helpful and supportive 1st time around 🙂

2018isanewyear · 12/08/2019 19:51

@cattaxi yes feeling quite prepared now, I'm sure there will be stuff I have forgotten but good for now. Any tips on the absolute essentials?

I'm glad I don't have a 4 year old to run round after! My back has gone already so I'm
Glad I can relax on the sofa. Sounds like you had a hard time at the start, I suffered bad nausea but nothing more thankfully.

Hopefully some more may be along to joint us again soon!

2018isanewyear · 12/08/2019 19:52

@cattaxi 'due October 2019' in pregnancy boards is a little more active if you haven't seen already

cattaxi · 12/08/2019 20:10

Thanks @2018isanewyear - will have a look at that board.

In terms of absolute essentials, I don’t think you really need that much. Something for them to wear - vests, sleepsuits, cardis & hats should cover it. Something to eat - depends on your plans re bf or not. Somewhere to sleep - we had a bedside cot for night & he slept in the pram carry cot in the day. Nappies & wipes of course. I don’t think you need loads of toiletries etc for them. We got loads, but actually only used baby soap & water until he started to eat food. Then we needed shampoo as he loved to rub it in his hair!
Trying to think what else we used lots of - car seat if you drive, bouncy chair, sling.
There is so much lovely stuff out there! But the prepping / shopping part is lovely, so why not?!
