September 2019 babies?

abi2790 · 27/12/2018 14:30

Do we have any September due dates yet?

This one came as a big shock for me. I had my coil out on 30th November and must have conceived pretty much straight away. Considering it took quite a long time to get DD, the BFP was a big shock!

This one will be my third!

@boodles101 that happened to me! I called my dr to tell them and she got me epu appointment. All was good but they did look for any causes so I would be tempted to call

ButtonTum · 24/01/2019 13:51

@boodles101 if you're anxious at all do get seen at the epau - that's why they're there and if you'll not rest until you know nothing I'd get checked out x

ButtonTum · 24/01/2019 13:54

@Easterbuns1 no, Mw just said she didn't know what happened 🙄

As it turns out she can't do my booking in a 20 minute appointment! No idea what the receptionist at the dr was playing at. Mw has now booked my booking but not for another 3 weeks when I'll be 9+3. I guess that's fine as I'm having a private scan at 8+3 but I'd got myself psyched up for today. Now more waiting .. 😕 fun, this pregnancy lark isn't it

boodles101 · 24/01/2019 14:03

I'm at work at the minute and there's no way I can call now and I'm guessing epu would only be open during working hours? I'll wait til later and if it's worse I'll call and find out or might book a private scan for the weekend. This is all just a big rollercoaster isn't it.

Easterbuns1 · 24/01/2019 14:18

My local one is open 8.30 - 4 and calls just goes through to the ward outwith those hours of its an emergency. You will know yourself if you feel you should ring or not. I've not called about my two occasions as it didn't really come to much but I appreciate everyone's different.

That is pants having to wait but by booking is when I will be 8+2 and I know my friend was seen after that and still had plenty time to get her scan organised. A pin being messed about though.

LaBelleSausage · 24/01/2019 14:25

They try and do booking between 8-10 weeks in my area so hopefully you won’t have any issues from a three week delay. It’s so frustrating though!

Two and a bit weeks until my private scan and I’m so twitchy. And DH is convinced we’re having a girl and I don’t know how to feel about that.
Already have DS and kind of want him to have a brother, although I’m sure it would be lovely to have one of each but I feel like I know where I am with boys now.

Didn’t find out the sex with DS, but think we will this time. Anyone else wondering about the sex yet?

LaBelleSausage · 24/01/2019 14:26

** obviously I realise we won’t be able to tell yet at an 8 week scan

Easterbuns1 · 24/01/2019 14:40

@LaBelleSausage my eldest is a boy and I felt the same when I was expecting my second. Ended up with a sister though and they are the best of friends.

I will have private scan to find out sex this time round all going well, our trust won't tell you at the sex at the anomaly scan.

LaBelleSausage · 24/01/2019 14:44

That’s lovely to hear @Easterbuns1, think I’m just paranoid as I have two lovely sisters who I get on well with, and DH can’t stand his sister. Although to be fair I can’t stand his sister either!

I’m pretty sure ours will tell us, although I’d probably have a private scan if they didn’t or consider one of the blood tests.
I’ve seen there’s one you can do at home for £79 but I’m not totally sure about taking my own blood for it!

Easterbuns1 · 24/01/2019 14:47

@LaBelleSausage yes I've see the ads for that and was intrigued as you can do the test from 9 weeks but think I could just about cope waiting til 16 weeks and that's a nice inbetween time to have a scan between the dating and the anomaly one.

April88 · 24/01/2019 15:13

Our booking in appointments are between 8 and 10 weeks too. Frustrating you had all that waiting around though @buttontum!

Mine is on Monday, hopefully will find out when my 12 week scan is not long after. I think we’ll find out the sex as we disagree so much on names it will be easier with only one to agree on!

I’ve booked another private scan for 2 weeks on Saturday when I’ll be nearly 11 weeks and if all ok we’ll tell our parents then. Slowest few weeks ever!

Megan2018 · 24/01/2019 15:28

We can find out the sex when we have NIPT at 10 weeks.

I am not sure if I want to know though - but DH thinks he does and so I will probably agree. He has found it hard to get his head around the pregnancy so anything that helps him engage with it is a good thing.

Karigan195 · 24/01/2019 15:41

Our NIPT is 7.2.19. Not long to wait now :)

Easterbuns1 · 24/01/2019 15:47

I remember someone saying they were having NIPT because their trust had just introduced it (sorry can't remember who that was) but are others having it done privately?

Megan2018 · 24/01/2019 15:49

@Karigan195
That should come around quickly!

I've not booked mine yet - I want to see when my NHS scan date is first as MW says they aim to scan at 11 weeks rather than 12 in my trust. I should hear in about 10 days.

If my NHS scan is at about 11 weeks I could have NIPT at the hospital afterwards for only £325 (it's a private test but done by the NHS but doesn't involve an extra scan).

But if my NHS scan not till after 12 weeks then I'd rather go to the private clinic at 10 weeks so I know sooner. But that's more money and further to travel.

Decisions, decisions!

TwittleBee · 24/01/2019 16:05

Had my MW appointment, all seemed to go well. Obviously just have to wait for the bloods etc to come back. One interesting thing though, she said that "chemical pregnancy" isn't a term recognised by medical profession and that it's a miscarriage still, she said that would have made my MMC my 3rd miscarriage and so my baby should have gone off for the full testing but because I thought first 2 were CPs (thanks to obviously wrong advice from MN) that I missed out on that and records now show only 1 MMC. Although she said that she will alter my details to say that I had another previous MC (she won't edit for both "CPs") so if, touch wood, anything goes wrong with this one then it will make it #3 for all the testing.

TwittleBee · 24/01/2019 16:07

Shall I make us a new thread, this one's getting close to 1000.

Karigan195 · 24/01/2019 16:12

Megan our nhs scan is this coming Tuesday. There was only 1 slot left in Feb for my clinic so I grabbed it before it went and just hoped everything worked out. It’s £360 😐

porge123 · 24/01/2019 16:22

Hi guys! So nervous as was in a lot of pain lastnight so phoned midwife and then epu and have an early scan tomorrow morning! I'll be 5+6 tomorrow, hoping all goes well. Has anyone had a scan around this time and has any advice?

ButtonTum · 24/01/2019 19:17

@LaBelleSausage we are in the same boat. Have a DS, know what to do with a boy and you love him to have a baby bro. We didn't find out last time but figured it would be easier to find out this time. But I'm actually now wondering whether I do actually want to know.

sophied1983 · 25/01/2019 08:16

Hello - I'm due with my second on 22nd Sept (three days after first was born). Hope everyone is doing OK.

Lavellan · 25/01/2019 10:24

@buttontum they did the exact same thing with me but I was super lucky the midwife had an hour slot just the next day. It was such a boring appointment you're not missing much, but I prob would have worried it would make my scan later so I get it.

I came away from booking in my three tubs of vitamins, two books to read, and a pee cup for next time. Fun!
