September 2019 babies?

abi2790 · 27/12/2018 14:30

Do we have any September due dates yet?

This one came as a big shock for me. I had my coil out on 30th November and must have conceived pretty much straight away. Considering it took quite a long time to get DD, the BFP was a big shock!

This one will be my third!

Sarah congratulations!

I’ve stopped smoking too and can’t stop eating Blush

stroan · 21/01/2019 21:41

@mrslbear it was a bit complex. They were running a very lucrative voluntary redundancy scheme which was oversubscribed (awful place!) as well as a restructure which got rid of my job and replaced it with one I wasn’t qualified to do. my line manager and head of department both treated me really badly during my pregnancy and mat leave. So badly that HR actually asked me to raise a formal grievance. It was horrible and obvious that going back was going to be impossible as there had been such a breakdown in the relationship. HR pulled strings and made sure I got the voluntary scheme so that I didnt leave with nothing (which I would have done as my mental health was an absolute mess). So it was sort of voluntary but I also couldn’t go back. It destroyed my confidence and I still question my abilities now.

My main worry in my current job is that I’m
still really creating a job role for myself and I have to be there to do that! But, it’s a small company of good people so I should be ok

hodgeheg92 · 22/01/2019 05:15

@stroan Your previous employer sounds awful, but I think it will be different this time. It would be really unlucky to get another so unempathetic employer.

My boss will be annoyed, technically I returned from mat leave pregnant again already (was on my period, so if you calculate due date from then). She won't say anything though, it's a primary school so par for the course with lots of female staff.

DD has had me up since 3am again. The annoying thing (aside from being awake of course) is that I'm nauseous when my stomach is empty so I've had to bring snacks to bed. I'd not quite lost as much weight as I wanted and now it'll be going back up again.

TwittleBee · 22/01/2019 07:27

So done with this horrid taste in my mouth this time round. Makes me constantly feel sick 🤢

Megan2018 · 22/01/2019 07:40

I still have the cold!
Had to take yesterday and today now off with it, can’t sleep, can’t breathe and now have a cough from hell.
I am never off sick and in normal circumstances would just dose up and get on with it but without my usual drug collection I just can’t function. Feel feeble but feel I need to rest to give this little bean a chance-if I push through work and the pregnancy goes wrong I’ll blame myself. I know that is nonsense really.

Unless this ilness is masking things, I still don’t have any new symptoms at 6+2. Although grateful for lack of nausea on top of the lack of breathing!

KLane · 22/01/2019 07:58

@hodgeheg92 I know it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but after putting on loads of weight in my last pregnancy, all these snacks give me a sense of doom with weight gain 🙈 I'm so much more conscious of what I'm eating... think I'll be enjoying this pregnancy a lot less as a result haha!

MyBreadIsEggy · 22/01/2019 07:59

This illness is shit.
I don’t feel too bad today, but I sound like Dot Cotton with a dose of laryngitis to make her all the more croaky Hmm
Greeted by DS this morning “Mama, you sound funny!” Hmm

Karigan195 · 22/01/2019 08:34

Oh dear I hope those with colds get better soon!

Don’t worry about symptoms at 6+2 they may just be mild for you or about to hit you like a sledgehammer. They mean little at this stage.

Sydneysider2019 · 22/01/2019 08:39

Hi everyone
Joining the 'vivid dreams' group here - woke up twice last night. I have experienced vivid dreams before pg as well, though Hmm

Can't wait for my first (7+2) scan this week - I have somehow managed to convince myself that it could be twins. I don't think I'd cope with that though.

On the work front, I don't foresee a huge problem having some time off for apps (my team manager seems pretty relaxed about that sort of thing) but I think I will wait as long as I can before dropping the pg bombshell considering I've been in the job a couple of months and am a contractor.

TwittleBee · 22/01/2019 08:44

Sydneysider I can understand that twin fear! Previous pregnancies I have always feared that and thought I had that feeling of having twins (probably as my symptoms were so bad). Hopefully you have just one lovely healthy bean in there.

Actually, this is first pregnancy I do not think I have twins, pretty sure its just the one; I shall find out at 4pm this afternoon!

stroan · 22/01/2019 09:25

@klane and @hodgeheg92 completely with you on worrying about the dreaded weight gain. I put on loads last time and had almost lost it. I think I’ve probably put on a stone already with the lack of exercise and eating ALL the carbs. It feels like I have to eat every hour, and nothing healthy!

I had Gestational diabetes last time so hoping this nausea goes away soon so I can sort out my diet. I don’t want another 10lb baby or to feel so unhealthy again.

Karigan195 · 22/01/2019 10:02

I’m keeping a lot of fruit around to snack on and hoping that helps. I’m really hoping to not put on any more weight than necessary. But my word the nausea is bad if I get hungry at all!

TwittleBee · 22/01/2019 10:09

I've inputted my weight into the weight tracker on the Pregnancy App and aim to try to stay on the middle/low range. Last time I certainly ate way too much!

September 2019 babies?
Megan2018 · 22/01/2019 10:10

Am kicking myself, midwife asked me at booking in yesterday if there are any twins in family and I said no-but then remembered in the middle of the night that my cousin has 1 set of twins! 🤦‍♀️ To be fair they are boy/girl intheir teens now and look nothing alike-and I have only met them twice. How significant is this? I’m not meant to see her again until 14 weeks and by that time I’d know if I’m having 2!

hodgeheg92 · 22/01/2019 10:15

@KLane and @stroan We can just try our best to be as healthy as we can. I'm finding overnight oats a filling breakfast and then trying to snack on fruit and not all the left over Xmas chocolate. I'm still doing my fitness class once a week and running, but haven't done 5k at park run since I found out, just 3k a few times. The fitness class I do is specifically for postnatal women and a friend has carried it on while pregnant before so hoping I will be able to too. I've got a massage with the instructor next week so will tell her then.

Just booked my early scan, actually feel excited now rather than just "what have we done?!"

stroan · 22/01/2019 11:22

@hodgeheg92 I keep telling myself that it won’t last forever and I can hopefully reverse some of the damage in the second trimester. I literally can’t eat anything but bread/pastries and jelly sweets just now, I gagged just at the sight of the fruit bowl this morning. And what my body is demanding I eat also happens to be the stuff that makes me feel really crappy.

My exercise classes are postnatal too and I’ve been fine to continue, but have to adjust certain exercises. Nothing where my head is below my stomach!! I’ve managed all but one, had to leave yesterday’s class. My instructor is also pregnant and she’s fab at supporting with small adjustments. Running is definitely not happening though.

KLane · 22/01/2019 12:29

@stroan @hodgeheg92 I tried my normal 5k on Saturday and could not catch my breath! I had to stop 3 or 4 times and only made it to 4K. Granted I had a couple of weeks off as we were away, but I had forgotten about the breathlessness.

hodgeheg92 · 22/01/2019 15:56

My booking appointment today turned out to just be a referral form and they'll call to arrange the booking. Midwife asked where I'd like to give birth and she started telling me about the lovely community midwife who serves my area - it's only the same midwife who supported me through the birth of DD a year ago in the MLU! She's moved to community. And I live in a huge city so sort of feel this is fate and I should have a home birth this time Smile

MyBreadIsEggy · 22/01/2019 16:08

hodgeheg unless I was dying, I’d never give birth anywhere else!!
Home birth with DS was the best decision ever

abi2790 · 22/01/2019 16:14

I'd love to try again for a home birth after not managing it with dd. I would always advise everybody to give it a go if they can! I can't try this time as my placenta got stuck with dd and had to be manually removed in surgery, which they told me there is a high possibility that could happen again

Just had my early scan! Everything looks good thankfully and they're putting me at 5+5 rather than 5+2. Saw a flicker of a heartbeat too! They've booked me in for another scan in 2 weeks time just to make sure it's progressing nicely.

Megan2018 · 22/01/2019 16:23

@TwittleBee
Such good news! So pleased for you!

Easterbuns1 · 22/01/2019 16:27

Great news @TwittleBee!

I'm spotting again today, should probably phone the epu as that's second time but I'm in denial a bit after last time.

ButtonTum · 22/01/2019 17:01

@BBell2 haha that pavlova story. I would have been LIVID!

ButtonTum · 22/01/2019 17:09

@TwittleBee that's great news
