September 2019 babies?

999 replies

abi2790 · 27/12/2018 14:30

Do we have any September due dates yet?

This one came as a big shock for me. I had my coil out on 30th November and must have conceived pretty much straight away. Considering it took quite a long time to get DD, the BFP was a big shock!

This one will be my third!

@BBell2
Me! Will be 41(40 now).
I’ve been told there is no difference in care unless you have other risk factors (I do-high blood pressure). So I’m very likely to be consultant led with more appointments and scans.
But if age is your only issue then no difference.

Megan2018 · 23/01/2019 19:50

@MinnieLou
So sorry it doesn’t sound good, it is the news we all dread. I wish there was something helpful I could say x

ButtonTum · 23/01/2019 20:53

So sorry @MinnieLou Fx for Friday x

BBell2 · 23/01/2019 21:05

@Megan2018 no reasons for extra checks then I don't think but with OH being a bit older too I think we are probably a bit riskier than either of us feel! Bloody geriatrics, the term seems bizarre.

Megan2018 · 23/01/2019 21:18

@BBell2
My DH will be 46, neither if us has held a newborn or changed a nappy. We don’t know one end of a baby from another-I reckon that’s our biggest risk!! Grin

Sydneysider2019 · 23/01/2019 22:03

@BBell2 I am 37 in a couple of months - If anyone calls them
Geriatric I am punching them in the face!Grin

Easterbuns1 · 23/01/2019 22:17

I'm away to turn 35 so will be classed as geriatric too, it's such an outdated term it's hilarious. My mum had children close together when she was a newly wed and then had me at the grand age of 36, which was classed as completely over the hill 35 years ago and here I am pretty much doing the same.

Karigan195 · 24/01/2019 06:30

Also me though if they say that I’ll also be punching them in the face. 41 now. Little surprised I got pregnant after an oopsie at this age 😂😂. But very welcome. Also consultant led as thyroid issues

stroan · 24/01/2019 06:37

I’m 35 so will also be classed as geriatric. But consultant led for other reasons so it’s not been mentioned.

Have to say, I definitely feel a LOT older in this pregnancy.

excitednerves · 24/01/2019 07:06

I’ll be 35 before baby is born but definitely don’t feel geriatric! Lol! The only thing that’s been mentioned so far is recommending I have some extra screening tests. Hopefully nothing to worry about. I’m fit and healthy as far as I’m aware.

MyBreadIsEggy · 24/01/2019 07:58

Geriatric pregnancy is such a hideous term isn’t it?!! Confused
I’m 24, and this will be my third, but I’m with you stroan - I feel a lot older in this pregnancy. I feel knackered and ancient, but I think that’s got more to do with the two loopy toddlers I have to wrangle every day than the actual pregnancy itself!!

So sorry MinnieLou Flowers I hope you have a strong support network in RL Flowers be kind to yourself xx

BBell2 · 24/01/2019 09:30

@megan2018 nappies are different when they come from your own little baby anyway. Do not give in to any kind friend who offers you a practice changing their own older kids!

TwittleBee · 24/01/2019 10:40

MW was meant to be here at 9.30am... Just got a phone call she will be here some time this afternoon now... Urgh. So just got to sit indoors all day with my toddler going crazy!

PastaSauceHoarder · 24/01/2019 10:44

Oh no @TwittleBee, I hope you're not waiting too long for her!

My midwife has just left, she seems really nice. Smile Had my bloods taken so my arm is a bit sore now.

Hsunshine · 24/01/2019 10:49

Can I eat poached eggs?

Karigan195 · 24/01/2019 10:55

Only if they are cooked through. No runny eggs

stroan · 24/01/2019 10:57

Runny eggs are ok if they are lion stamped. The advice seems to change all the time and I’m sure it’s different to 4 years ago.

Easterbuns1 · 24/01/2019 11:05

Yep official advice is that they are safe as long as lion stamped. I buy farm eggs from a friend that aren't lion stamped but will continue to eat them runny tbh.

Megan2018 · 24/01/2019 11:21

I have my own hens and am eating their eggs when they can be bothered to lay any but cooked through, bought some lion stamped eggs (never buy eggs) so I can have some runny ones.

I am sure my hens are safe but I am not taking any chances. I expect once I am much further along then I'll be less paranoid!

MyBreadIsEggy · 24/01/2019 11:40

This day literally couldn’t get any worse.
I got a fucking parking ticket this morning on the courtesy car I’m driving while mine gets fixed, and the garage has just rang to say there’s £600 worth of damage all because my dad (an ex-mechanic) put the wrong part on when he fixed a problem a few months back Sad
Don’t know whether to scream and punch a wall or sit and cry hysterically.
Probably both Sad

boodles101 · 24/01/2019 13:13

I've just been to the loo and got some brown tinged discharge (sorry for tmi) nothing really when I wipe though. Slightly cramping but nothing more than what I would say is normal, certainly not painful.
I know it's probably nothing but slightly anxious now. What would you do?

ButtonTum · 24/01/2019 13:13

Am furious, ladies! Have been sat waiting for my midwife appointment for 40 minutes to be told MW has CANCELLED my booking appointment. No reason given. I've kicked up a stink as had to work at home and take the time out. They have then said MW will see me, but after she's done with her other appointments. WTF? 😠

Megan2018 · 24/01/2019 13:29

@boodles101
I'd just keep an eye on it. Brown discharge sounds entirely normal if no cramps and nothing else happens. Midwife said to me that spotting or brown discharge is common and on its own is fine - if it gets worse or there is pain then to call GP for referral to EPAU. How many weeks are you?

Obviously I say that all matter of factly but if it was me I'd be in full on panic mode as I worry about everything! But with sensible head on - it is probably nothing at all.

@ButtonTum
I'd be livid too - it's hard enough taking the time off isn't it (especially when it is secret) without being messed about. Mine was changed from 9.30 to 11.30 but they did give me 2 days notice. Hope you do get seen!

Easterbuns1 · 24/01/2019 13:30

@boodles101 how far along are you? You can always give epu a ring but they may tell you to wait and see if there's any more episodes or if it changes to a proper bleed.

@MyBreadIsEggy oh oh! Cars are such an expense mine is the bane of my life. Is it a garage you trust they wouldn't be changing their luck would they? I've had that in the past when they've thought women don't know anything about cars!

@ButtonTum that's crap, has there been an emergency or something?

boodles101 · 24/01/2019 13:34

I'm 6+2. My sensible head says it's probably nothing but I've had a CP previously around this point so obviously I'm now panicking. Will keep an eye on it and if it gets any worse I'll call through. Thanks ladies.
