I've gone off tea, don't drink coffee and have caffeine free Pepsi

@reeny19 I don't really drink tea or coffee but I'm a sucker for fizzy juice ! Literally I could easily drink 2L a day if I was bored at home. I'm trying to cut down as much as I can but not cut it out completely. As far as I know your allowed 200mg caffeine a day ? And think there are like 40mg in a can of coke ! So not too worried

I rang Antenatal today to see when my 12w scan is 31st Dec which puts me 13w, I'm a bit gutted was hoping it'd be Christmas Eve hey ho! I did have scans at 6 & 8w3d and all was good. I just don't feel pregnant, no sickness, no real breast pain unless I poke them, lol! Some days I'm more bloated than others, no boob growth. :( I guess I'm just SO anxious due to my MMC & CP. :'(

Tea makes me sick at the moment and I can't stand the smell of coffee, but as soon as this sickness passes I'll be back on them. I don't drink a huge amount anyway, and usually don't go over 2 cups a day.

Don't forget chocolate has caffeine in it, so has to be counted too, the dark the chocolate the more caffeine!

Hoping no-one comes round tonight, I've toothpasted my giant spot! 😂 I've heard there's a pizza place and several pudding places at DHs Christmas party, so I'm getting excited! Just don't want to look completely awful when we go.

@Twistering I'm really looking forward to seeing a proper baby on the scan next week. My 8 week one was just a fuzzy nugget 😂 DS would never stay still for his scans at 12 weeks and 20 weeks, it took them ages to get the measurements, and at the 20 week one they had to have 3 attempts, a walk, a wee, and a massive drink before he cooperated, I'm hoping this one is a little more chilled!

I've got my flu jab and first scan both tomorrow! I'm 12 weeks on the 21st December but there were no scans available until 27th December when I had my booking in appointment - I guess a lot of people wanted scans before Christmas. We've booked a private reassurance scan but it's being done at the hospital - I didn't want to go to one of these private set ups in case there is anything wrong and I had to go to hospital anyway. Nervous but excited. I've got PCOS which some research has shown increases risk of miscarriage but my midwife said I was still low risk. I've had a glucose tolerance test booked though as my PCOS puts me at higher risk of gestational diabetes - already booked in for April!

For caffeine, I have switched to decaf tea in work but if I'm out I'll have whatever as it's usually only one anyway.

I have one decaffeinated tea and one decaffeinated coffee - but totally off chocolate and anything sweet at the moment. I've got belvoir cordial and mostly drinking that. I usually drink lots of herbal teas but can't face them at the moment.

To be honest, I'm pretty much living on a diet of bread and potatoes. I usually eat loads of veg and fruit but just want jacket potatoes for every meal at the moment!

Ugh I'm feeling so unbelievably awful. Someone switched the air con in my office off at lunchtime and the office heated up like a greenhouse. It was so hot I couldn't even breath and had to go outside to recover. Now my head is pounding and I can't seem to regulate my temperature I'm freezing one minute and boiling the next. I'm so thirsty and I've drunk 3 litres of water. Think I might try and make my excuses and go home.

See I’ve not gone off tea/coffee at all and I usually drink about 5-7 cups a day.
Been limiting myself to 3 teas a day which is sooo hard. It should keep me under the 200mg limit but I feel like I should probably decrease it more. I also really want a coffee but if I have one then that means I can’t have as much tea! Argh!

Hang in there Michelle, Dec 31st will be here before you know it! I’ve had little to no symptoms as well (only 7w3d however) but I’ve found it reasurring to hear from the other ladies on here who had successful pregnancies with minimal symptoms. Smile

@laburna whatever you do, don’t squeeze the spot! I used to get them like clockwork every month, about 1 week before AF arrived. Soo painful and they would sometimes swell up up be about the size of a grape (not kidding).
Since I’ve been pregnant I haven’t had a single one. It’s so weird!

@thedust I've got my GTT on the 12th January. It's not so bad, just have to drink a massive Capri sun and not throw up for 3 hours. Also sit still.

(It's not really Capri sun, but they're very similar!)

@reeny19 no popping. I shall remember that! I have no face care routing beyond washing it, in the shower which I've heard is bad. The curse of having usually good skin- I never had to learn this stuff! 😂
I'm pretty sure I didn't really have any symptoms last time. I remember having to have a snack when I woke in the night but that was it. The sickness kicked in during the 2nd trimester, but only car sickness really! Although, I hate to say it, but you've not quite hit the HCG peak bit yet, which is 9-12 weeks. Though, HCG levels are very personal, and so is how every bodies body reacts to them, so you could have the highest HCG and your body be fine, or the lowest and your body really struggle. I feel like I got off to easy last time so I'm getting everything this time.

Really sore tummy today, but I'm pretty sure it's just because my digestion has all but stopped. I've been eating fruit and veg too!

@Laburna laughing at thought of you with tooth paste on spot!

I’m down to two normal cups of tea a day. @Reeny midwife told me three is fine though.

WFH today so had early dinner of fish and salad to attempt to get me back to usual, my digestion is sluggish to say the least!

Twistering · 12/12/2018 18:13

I’ve had hardly any symptoms really too apart from the big sore boobs (still big but not sore) and fondness for carbs. Not sick, tired etc, have got off very lightly compared to some. Will prob get massive piles or something!!

@Twistering, that's great news! So lovely to see it properly looking like a baby now x

Amazed that you ate fish for dinner. My diet is incredibly bland at the moment and I've stopped a few things after I realised they're worse coming up later.....

Fingers crossed your spot goes soon, @Laburna! Your DP's Christmas party sounds awesome! Can we tag along??

Caffeine-wise, I don't drink tea or coffee, and I've stopped drinking soft drinks. (I know I could get some caffeine-free ones but my stomach can't handle fizzy drinks is anyway).

I am currently on a diet of potatoes, brown bread and other breaded products, pasta and cheese.

And I have always edged away from caffeine as I know how easy it is to get hooked - I know I will need it more further down the line with the lack of sleep I should be preparing for if all goes well. Xx

I am totally off tea I tried one yesterday for the first time in 3 weeks, tasted horrible. I've had a few coffees as I fancied a hot drink and I am sick of chamomile tea also find coffee helps me go to the loo. I will probably get some decaff coffee, I've been on decaff tea for about 3 months.

@RooKangeroo I'm freaking out about it a bit, there's a social media blackout, so no pictures or videos allowed while we are there. Apparently a few years back a graduate trainee got so drunk he threw up on one of the big sponsors wives....and then had to go and apologise in person the following week!

DH has just come home with a big hamper box full of cake biscuits, chocolate and sweets (and a bottle of prosecco) for Christmas from the company. He's going to have to hide that or I'm going to have eaten it by morning!

Eek yes I know I may yet get the sickness, really hoping not though. Maybe I’ll be like twistering and Michelle and carry on with minimal symptoms. I thought i would have been way worse by now though so I’m really pleased! (Although it does make me wonder whether I’m still pregnant!)

Also when did all the food aversions start for you all? I’ve been off meat for about a week and have been stuffing my face constantly for about a week too. I’m always hungry!!!

Cannot believe how you all manage to avoid caffeine so well!

@delilah7 we've had SO many take aways recently the local Chinese now says "What is your order this week" although I haven't eaten much of it.

I did salmon for tea tonight really didn't fancy it but actually loved it.

@Reeny19 I know I'm 99% convinced "I'm not still preg" due to no symptoms and sickness! I thought I'd be someone who constantly had my head down the loo!!!

Delilah7 · 12/12/2018 20:33

@Michelle0507 I can't eat Chinese yet, guess because I only have chicken chow mein 😂😂😂😂

Hello! Can I hop in? I found out in oregnant with dc2 on Friday. No idea how far along as was on the pill but dr thinks maybe 8 weeks. Scan has been requested ASAP to check this but with Christmas coming up who knows when that will happen.

I’m feeling sick all the time (although as with ds haven’t thrown up (yet)) but also starving. No aversions really yet although last time I couldn’t stand the smell of fresh coffee.

I am limiting my caffeine intake not stopping completely - I didn’t with ds.
