Well ladies I think I'll be having a medium steak on Thurs you've all convinced me. Can't you tell I'm a first time Mum, afraid to do anything! Lol!

Scan at 2.30 today, so nervous back to the 'there will be no HB arrrgh! Going to try and drink a pint 1 hour before I've been having a small bottle of water about 40 min before and not one of my scan pictures has been clear.

Bras I bought the soft ones from Primark when I first got pregnant and I've never gone back to my underwided they're a dream. I don't think my boobs have grown, my nips etc look bigger. The ones from Primark were about £5 - £7 I can't bring myself to spend like £20 on a bra!

@Michelle0507 I think it depends on your sonographer sometimes too, my pictures are pretty blurry and I could see he couldve got better ones but he was just interested in getting the measurements and doing what he needed to do. He told me I had a very full bladder while I was desperately trying not to pee myself lol! My best friends are absolutely amazing, so clear and she said her sonographer would take a shot then say,” no I reckon I can get a better one than that!”

I love underwire (30FF so need all the support I can get!) But it's got really uncomfortable recently. I got a cheap non-wire to try out and seems to be okay so happy to branch out. Trying to get underwire in my size is bloody hard as most places don't stock either my back size or cup but think that non-wire will be more flexible now!

@HchyScott thanks for that, interesting to know. Tbh my previous 3 have been on EPAU which I'm so grateful for and their role is to check the baby is okay so I guess they don't worry too much about the image.

30FF goodness I can't even begin to imagine I've only got little 'uns 32C. I can never believe I'm a C all my friends who are C are twice as big. I was measured in Boux Avenue about a year ago and was told "you're big for your frame" eh I'm a size 10 okay I'm only 5ft but I'm sure I'm not! Lol x

What is NCT? Sorry I've no idea of any of these things. I know more about babies 3+ due to my previous jobs. Lol!

@Michelle don’t panic! Will be fine and what a nice thing to see on NYE :)
Honestly, think it’s down to sonographer, my Consultant did one on me at 9 weeks and I’d literally just been for a wee as assumed it would be transvaginal and was still pretty clear.

@TheScaredyCat Cost varies I think depending on where live/length etc but someone told me the signature one was about £300! Hence the middle class mummies reputation I guess.

@Michelle National Childbirth Trust - antenatal classes basically.

Report
Michelle0507 · 31/12/2018 11:54

Ah okay thank you. I assumed you got antenatal classes free on the NHS? Blush I've not really looked into anything.

Yes hoping it's good as NYE isn't my favourite night my Cousin died NYE many years ago so it's a bit of an odd one for me.

Is anyone doing anything tonight? We're staying in, we've gone to my best friends the past 2 years. Not sure I'll be able to stay up until 12.

Nope- this will be our first NYE at home. Managed to get through Christmas without anyone guessing so don't want to push my luck, plus I'll be able to go into bed at 10 this evening 😃

@HchyScott I have the same ideas as you - a little of what I fancy in moderation. Including a glass of wine with dinner once or twice a week with dinner when I'm much further along. I was also a vaper but as we were TTC I made myself stop on my October holiday. We were sailing so when it ran out it was gone. 3 weeks later we conceived so probably a good thing I stopped as I don't like to feel like I forced anything.

@Michelle - you do get free NHS ones, don’t worry! Midwife will tell you I’m sure. NCT is just another option, bit more detailed possibly? Sorry to hear NYE not such a happy time.

We’re out tonight...got a table booked at our fave restaurant at 9pm. Then may make it to friends house party to see 12 in. We’ve done it before and been lovely but I’ve usually been rather merry/not pregnant! I’m full of beans at the moment so hopefully with a strategic nap and snack will be ok!

Debenhams came through on the bras - the lady in the lingerie dept was beyond helpful and was running back and forth with different sizes and have me lots of advice. Came away with 3 bras that will hopefully see me through. Highly recommend to everyone!

@Jxtina86 I find Debenhams great I needed something to wear to a Charity night I'm a jeans and converse kind of girl but the personal shopper found me so many things that were just me. I felt super important with my shopper.

Just dug out my numbing cream super needle phobic over here!!! I used to be a Play Specialist on a Children's ward for goodness sake it was the main part of my job! Lol

Had another scan today and all good still baby had flipped round and is now measuring 2 days ahead which puts me back to exactly where I thought I should be!

Had the most horrendous and emotional shift at work over the weekend resulting in my been awake for 30 hours straight stuck at work for 26 of those hours so yesterday I just slept most of the day.

I’ll wish you all a happy new year ❤️
Tomorrow when we wake up we will be able to say we are having a baby this year 😍

@Jxtina86 I was just about to recommend Debenhams ! What kind did you get, non wired ?
Last 2 pregnancies I've just worn my regular bras right up til the end (took the wires out some of them! So they were still nice and padded, cant bare thin granny bras lol) and then used nursing bras for feeding which were from Debenhams! They're so unflattering on, my boobs are huge too (36G!) And I need an unferwire really.

Can anyone recommend anywhere for maternity leggings ? I've just seen a pack of 3 on boohoo but i ordered their maternity jeans and they were awful so don't know weather to bother

@Michelle0507 ah that's brilliant. Never tried their personal shopper service before but sounds excellent!

@ReginaPhalange89 went for non-wire but they're a moulded cup still (not a granny bra in sight lol). One was proper maternity in 32 back and the other was a 2 pack normal set but in 34E. Advice was that more likely to expand back size rather than cup and to start on tightest band on both and let it out as needed. Went for the 34E as the 34F had too much of a gap on the cup.

Michelle sorry to hear about NYE. I don't really like it either and last one I was recovering from a car crash. Going to attempt to stay up until midnight otherwise the fireworks will wake me up anyway! I'm also 5ft so really struggling to find maternity wearConfused

AIDE glad you had a nice scan of baby after what sounds like an awful lack of sleep!!

We did both the hospital classes and NCT. Found the hospital classes more useful for interventions and all methods of pain relief.
My NCT group did meet up regularly when we were all in maternity leave but I think some of the girls still see each other but we haven't met up for ages. I'm the last to have a second baby too.
Some areas offer online antenatal classes too that can be done at your own pace.
I bought some boohoo maternity leggings found them a bit baggy around the tummy at the moment.
MIL is having our 5 year old for the night but think we are going to stay in eat part food and watch films.

On NCT, we also booked the Signature one. They said you get a full refund if something bad happens, so we just went for it, though it's not until May!

I did a couple of the NHS classes with my first , think it was a block of 6 , I did 2 and never went back. Didn't find them useful at all tbh! I have heard of people doing Daisy baby birthing classes and loving them though.
