jacquejacque · 28/11/2018 13:27

Thank you all so much. Having a wine (oh how I’d forgotten the deliciousness of wine) and a chat with DH. I’ve perked up a bit in the short term, but dreading the weekend because I have a feeling it’s going to end naturally even though I don’t want it to.

Please don’t let this derail the thread, post those scan pics from today ladies, I’ll be back to give you all some hugs and kisses soon. Dead sad I won’t be able to ride it out with you, you’re all wonderful and I really truly do wish amazing pregnancies and births for you all. Big loves xxx

SassehMonsta · 28/11/2018 13:32

Not the news we were all hoping for Jacque, but enjoy the wine and we hope you have all the best help and support to get through this, and to be able to try again soon if you so wish! Some practical tips include making chocolate rice crispie cakes - fortified vitamins and minerals in the cereal, and using dark chocolate you get lots of lovely iron too. Plus, making them is always fun too. xxxxx

Nausea was fading but made a comeback at lunchtime. Booooo.

Also, I am very not-active. The only activity I do is bounce around at aquanatal once a week for 45 mins, and that's only been 2 weeks of that so far. Otherwise, its general cooking, cleaning, shopping, working on the 3rd floor kind of things, aka nothing that counts as exercise.

I feel really weird saying this as I’m finding today’s thread really tough to read having been right there myself but we have a happy jumping baby and I’m so very relieved.

Having a previous miscarriage robs you of being able to feel real innocent joy at a subsequent pregnancy and I was crying scared again before going in. But now I feel relief and will try and hold onto this feeling before the fear breaks over me again.

@jacquejacque at the risk of totally handling this badly I’m the proof positive that it can turn out ok. I wish you the very very very best for you and DH. Keep a light on in your head even when things seem at their darkest. X

annihall · 28/11/2018 14:23

@jacquejacque so sorry this happened to you! I wish you all the best and keep fingers crossed you won't have to wait too long for some happy news and a healthy pregnancy in future! Until then take good care of yourself and enjoy the vino xx

Fabuluce · 28/11/2018 14:27

PaulHollywood me too. It's so hard posting after such devastating news. But given I've had 6 rounds of IVF and have one healthy 3yo and another one looking good I'm also proof that it can happen. There are never any guarantees of course, and I know I'm incredibly lucky. I have friends who haven't had the happy ending they so hoped for but have come out the other side eventually to a different future which is full of positivity.

Our scan went really well this morning. Really low risk of the top 3 chromosomal abnormalities and baby is measuring well.

I hope this doesn't come across as being insensitive but I would like to share my scan picture of today... unfortunately the baby was on its tummy and even though it was very wriggly it didn't turn around for a good pic. I was hoping to send this to the nub techs but guess it won't be any good for them?
Nuchal translucency was 1.5mm and sonographer said that's normal? Anyone know how good/bad this is?

You are all wonderful but please, please don’t feel guilty. I’m genuinely delighted for you all, it really isn’t hard for me to see and I’m thrilled that you’ve all made it to the milestone. It’ll be me too before long and I just hope at that point that others in a similar situation can be happy for me too.

Have a fabulous evening staring at your scan pics, and I’ll have a wine for you Biscuit xxx

jacquejacque · 28/11/2018 14:44

I totally meant to post a winking face emoji and not a biscuit by the way!!

toasterstrudle · 28/11/2018 14:54

Congratulations on the scans guys ❤️

@jacquejacque what a lovely message to the group, you're so strong. I remember leaving the November 2018 bus amid the time when we were all having 12 week scans. It was absolutely devastating but I also tried to stay positive and am so grateful to finally be where we are now, although there are no guarantees. With my mmc I had the surgery and found that gave me a bit of certainty and closure. It was a devastating few months after but I did my best to throw myself into my interests and work to try and 'find myself' again. Twee, I know. I hope you get answers soon. Thinking of you and your dh. Enjoy the wine Wine

fee1234 · 28/11/2018 15:12

Beautiful scans ladies x

Torsz · 28/11/2018 16:09

@jacquejacque I'm so sorry but my god you're an incredible person - I'm not sure I could be so strong. Good luck with everything - you truly deserve it xx
