Marking place!

Fingers crossed for you today @jacquejacque - will be thinking of you!

@curlypasta that sounds awful, I know anytime either of mine are even slightly sick it's so worrying.

I don't have insomnia thank god. More the opposite, my alarm is my hell and I need to sleep more! 8 hrs is not cutting it!

Still waiting on nuchal results after 1 week. Fingers crossed they arrive soon!

MadeInCornwallx3 · 27/11/2018 09:57

Aaaand... they've arrived.

1 in 7088 for DS
1 in 58717 for the other two trisomies.

I'm happy with that given I'm 35. Maybe now I can relax a bit. I doubt it though 😂.

toasterstrudle · 27/11/2018 11:21

Just back from my scan - 11+4 so measuring ahead! Baby is clearly fine even if I'm not so grand, hoping sickness clears soon. Was even able to look at the monitor this time (bit traumatised from mmc so got them to check first).

Starting to believe we are actually finally going to have baby number 2! 🌈

Great news on the results @MadeInCornwallx3!

MauisLeftNipple · 27/11/2018 11:26

Placemarking. On my own with my 1&3 yos for the first time since being discharged from hospital on Friday. Still feel v nauseous. The 1yo is being a whingeing nightmare. Early nap today I think.

hexagon01 · 27/11/2018 11:41

Hi all!

JacqueJacque I really hope you hear from EPU soon and get a scan and some good news.

Insomnia club here but my own fault as I needed the loo but my son seemed to be sleeping so lightly that I was scared to go and wake him up accidentally!

So so hungry this morning I have eaten cereal, hot cross bun, cereal bar, apple, packet of crisps and some chocolate (very healthy) and my tummy is roaring with hunger.

jacquejacque · 27/11/2018 12:01

Hi all - scan is booked for first thing tomorrow so now just the tortuous wait to get through. Sigh.

mindthechaos · 27/11/2018 12:07

Just marking my place in this one as I dropped off the last thread.

Hoping today goes quickly for you JacqueJacque

Does anyone have any recommendations for nausea wristbands as there are loads on amazon

MauisLeftNipple · 27/11/2018 13:03

*mindthechaos" they're all pretty much the same - an elasticated wristband with a ball on it. Boots sell them v cheap. I don't find they work for me but hopefully you have more luck.

fee1234 · 27/11/2018 13:23

@mindthechaos I've had the sea bands on for a few weeks and they are pretty good. Take a bit of getting used to because they are quite tight though and leave marks on your wrist

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 27/11/2018 15:10

Worst vertigo yet today, the fridge actually “wobbled” and I had to grip onto it and lean forward.

Between that and my having true and real cravings for fresh fruit and veg (grapefruits, Vietnamese rolls, whole pomegranates) this is my most unusual pregnancy yet.

Mad.

Only 21hrs until the scan.

hellotoyellow · 27/11/2018 15:11

Hey @jacquejacque, good luck.

Feeling you all on the insomnia, was up for two hours last night. Still better than waking up to be sick though?

stellarfox · 27/11/2018 15:34

I know some of you will not even be thinking about exercise right now but those of you feeling a bit better and edging into the second trimester what exercise are you planning on doing during pregnancy? I used to go to the gym but when I found out we were pregnant we had just been on holiday for a few weeks so I didn’t want to restart at the gym in the first trimester. Today is my first day of second trimester so I feel like I should start doing something but I don’t want to overdo it!

Chocomalt · 27/11/2018 15:58

Also place marking the new thread.

Good luck @jacquejacque I bled all through my last pregnancy, I can understand the worry, but my son is a very healthy boy. They never found a reason for it, the midwives told me that it just happens to some people.

I am with everyone on the insomnia, have been suffering with it since just before my BFP, I'm reluctantly accepting it...

@stellarfox I've been doing Pilates so far, which I did also through my last pregnancy, I found it great to keep away the aches and pains of pregnancy. I also did pregnancy yoga which I plan (hopefully) to do this time, it's not too strenuous, but I did find last time that it so helped with the rib pain I had in the last trimester. Great for just general time out to relax too (& friendly).
Could you still go to the gym but let them know you are pregnant and see if they can do a suitable programme maybe. I did that postnatally

Torsz · 27/11/2018 16:02

@jacquejacque good luck - I've got everything crossed for you xx

@stellarfox I've been doing step aerobics throughout (I've been doing it for years so just stopped doing any jumps and have been taking it easy) and started body balance when I hit 12 weeks. I've also started swimming when I can be bothered 😂 I think the main thing is not to push too hard and to make sure your instructor knows what stage you're at so they can let you know of anything you need to do differently ☺️

lstef · 27/11/2018 16:38

@toasterstrudle thank you

phoned the unit and they said it sounded normal and if it gets worse to phone back. I had a bit of a teary meltdown waiting for the call but ok now, the spotting is getting lighter in colour and back to the normal consistency (ha! how glamorous is pg?!?) so I'm hopeful all is ok. been out to see a friend and I'm pooped!

Exercise- will do yoga and swimming most likely, and some walks, once I feel stronger. Probably will start really gentle as have barely moved for 6 weeks, and work up.

Fingers crossed for tomo @jacquejacque

hellotoyellow · 27/11/2018 16:45

@stellarfox I normally do hot yoga and running, as well as a 12 mile cycle to work and back, which I stopped almost immediately (dizziness, mainly, but also the breast pain when running). I've replaced that with normal yoga/yoga videos (doing modifications myself) and going to the gym about three times a week, which has really helped even when I was at my sickest, and just doing some cardio/light weights/stability exercises and a swim. I have just quit the gym from Jan 1 because I can't afford both it and pregnancy yoga etc, but am hoping to use local municipal gym and pool (and lido in third trimester?). I don't plan to go to antenatal classes like NCT so will do pregnancy yoga/pilates to make friends locally.

I found this moveyourframe.com/blog/how-to-exercise-during-pregnancy really helpful. I haven't actually told anyone in any yoga classes that I'm pregnant because I'm worried about being kicked out and feel fairly safe handling it myself - I've been doing yoga regularly since I was 21 and feel I know my own body. Probably a bit mad...

jacquejacque · 27/11/2018 16:55

@lstef oh bless you - it's so scary isn't it? I'm so glad to hear things are becoming more normal now (is there a normal in pregnancy?) and you're feeling calmer. Here for hugs and hand holding if you feel anxious.

I'm not bleeding anymore and in no pain but feeling very wobbly. Last mc, I seem to remember I had a day of not a lot and then it all started properly in the evening. So now it's dark I'm starting to feel anxious. Just need to get through to tomorrow morning!

Reastie · 27/11/2018 16:55

Mauis how did you get along on your own?

With the sea bands watch YouTube to make sure you’ve got them in the right place as I discovered I’ve been using them wrong for years for travel sickness!

Paulhollywood urgh to vertigo. I actually couldn’t watch tv this afternoon as the moving camera was making the nausea worse.

Stellar I’m desperate to feel better enough to get back to exercise. Pre pregnancy I worked out 5 times a week doing spin, running, hiit, step aerobics, bodybalance and body attack. I miss it all so much :( . I’ve got a turbo for my bike so I can turn my bike into an indoors exercise bike so once I’m up to it I’m going to get that in and do some indoor cycling every day to start and I’m also going to do yoga and low impact body attack. That’s the plan anyway... bodybalance has adapted pg moves and is good for a bit more than pg yoga but not jumpy cardio. I think you can do most things but just modify certain moves. I’m not going to do step aerobice though as I’m rubbish for falling off my step.

diamondbutterfly · 27/11/2018 18:27

Hello, dips toe in the pond!
Joing you, due dc3 on 10th June.
Haven't really done must exercise other than running for buses since bfp. Not intentional, but needed to cover childcare. I used to do body pump, which I loved twice a week, spin and yoga may start up again in the new year when I should be in more

lstef · 27/11/2018 18:44

@jacquejacque - thank you for the support. Same to you. I have anxiety anyway, health anxiety too, but have been calmer than I thought I would be. But damn the wait for the scan is dragging like hell, it's booked for next Thurs when i will be 12+4 - I cant wait but also so nervous!

pollykins151 · 27/11/2018 19:13

Just place marking 😊 I haven't posted on here in ages but I've been trying to keep up with all going's on.

gossipgirl28 · 27/11/2018 19:43

Hi all!

Marking my place. Currently 11+4 and got my scan this Friday when I'll be exactly 12 weeks. So excited!

Also glad to report that my all day nausea and sickness has disappeared so don't give up hope ladies. I've been signed off work since week 8 as I was completely bed bound by the sickness. Back to work next week but still taking my anti-sickness medication.

Not long until the second trimester xoxo

MauisLeftNipple · 27/11/2018 19:50

I survived the day with both kids...just. Walked the school run for the first time in well over a week. Felt very weak and weary. Normally I am quite fit and we all practically run to school. I'm sad that I've lost so much strength and fitness.

Bigonesmallone3 · 27/11/2018 19:55

Oh we've moved.. second trimester here we come..

stellarfox · 27/11/2018 20:02

Ooh a lot of you are still pretty active then! Some good ideas - it sounds like you can still do a lot, just with some modifications. That’s a helpful link thanks @hellotoyellow I think I’ll definitely try pregnancy yoga or pilates and then maybe something else gentle. I was really enjoying body pump/weight training pre pregnancy so might try to do some light weights again!
