OK I know it's VERY early days folks but someone's got to start this thread sometime. Due date between May 4 and May 9. Any other takers?

Going back to work tomorrow after having almost 4 weeks off with sickness. I need to go and try some of my work clothes on now, despite losing 10 pound as a result of horrendous m/s my jeans are all to tight . Can't believe how fast my shape is changing. I'm only 5 foot and gone from a 34B bra to 36D and have already resorted to wearing dp's tops because I look so top heavy in any of my fitted clothes.

logic · 25/10/2004 16:06

I think we are are getting into that really awkward clothing stage. My maternity clothes are too big and my ordinary clothes are too tight. I'm living in jogging trousers at the moment...

Most of us seem to be roughly the same height too (I'm 5'2"). Did anyone have real back trouble last time? I couldn't sit down for more than 2 minutes from about 25 weeks onwards. I had to use my TENS machine! I intend to demand physio this time. Last time, I was told it was my lack of height and huge bump causing a posture problem.

At least I am feeling better, less sick and my spots are clearing up! Wahey! For anyone still being sick, I read in a magazine that acupuncture can help...

fisil · 25/10/2004 16:09

Not back problems - but I had that thing where your pelvis pings apart and you have to wear a very sexy belt tp keep you all in. 5'3". Maybe there's some odd link between height, month of conception & internet use. Hmm.

Good news Brighteyes (especially the bust - wow!)

Thanks myermay. My boss knows and 2 close work friends but the rest I will be telling tomorrow. Feeling excited about letting everyone know.

northstar · 26/10/2004 09:57

Well brighteyes are you the talk of your workplace?
Fisil, sorry you're not sleeping, I have the greatest ds, woke me at half 8 this morning, i had 10 hours solid sleep
Is anyone having wierd dreams yet? Mine are very vivid and quite detailed.
Luckily i'm not having back problems, but it is interesting that we're all around the same height, due in may, and on mn - wonder what the next 6 months has in store for us all?

LittleB · 26/10/2004 10:21

It's amazing that we seem to be shorter people (5ft2) I've out grown most of my trousers already (10-12), just over the last couple of days I seem to have developed a pot belly! I used to crease along my belly button and thats disappeared!Glad to hear some of us are sarting to feel better - I'm not there yet, but hopefully soon. I got my scan date today, not until 11th november by which time I'll be 13wks+2, I know its only a couple of weeks but it seems like ages away - just want to know things are ok so it can become common knowledge and I start to feel pregnant instead of trying not to look fat! How many of us have had scans now or have got their appointments?
Hope everything went ok at work Brighteyes.

Uwila · 26/10/2004 16:59

My scan isn't until 19 November, so you're one week up on me.

cab · 27/10/2004 10:56

Gosh you lot are making me feel tall at 5ft3!! On names Myermay my dd (who is over the moon!) has begun a huge list of names but 'Rosa delicate lovelier flower' is her favourite. Attempts to suggest say Kate or Amy are met with complete disdain. There could be trouble ahead.

Thanks for the birthing ball hint Myermay, I'll have to try it. Any idea where I can buy/rent one from?

I am having weird dreams too. Although, in my case, any sleep at all is gratefully received. I had a major scare at the beginning of the pregnancy and I won't be happy until the scans say that everything is ok.

lol at the names Cab My only worry is that ds (who is completely indifferent atm) will start demanding something from Thomas the Tank Engine. Percy, Henry, Gordon, hmmmmm I don't think so.

Well second day back in work today and I'm being spoilt rotten. - Was having hot flushes so they got me a fan, fancied a milky way and ended up with four of them being bought for me, if I go to get a glass of water I end up with my team arguing about who will get it for me. Lovely to be so spoilt wondering if it will last till May!!!

Regarding the comments on dreams, I have to confess that since I got pg I'm having really erotic dreams, probably frutration at not having the energy to do it in real life

fisil · 27/10/2004 19:53

Thought I was weeing myself this afternoon. When I got to the loo it was actually blood . Spoke to GP, might go for a scan in the morning, depending on how I feel, and what the bleeding is doing. Still going on, but much lighter now. Apparently it could be the placenta settling in or something, trying not to think about it really, so having curry & film with dp tonight (don't worry, nothing spicy!)

Fisil,
How are you today? Did you go for scan?

fisil · 28/10/2004 14:19

Well, I was still bleeding more heavily than I would have liked this morning, so DP & I went down to the EPU. We were told EPU had no staff in today, and besides which at 14 weeks I couldn't use them anyway, I'd have to get A&E or GP to refer me to accute gynae. So DP go on the phone to GP (I'd already got myself in a state by then - beyond being able to talk!). After c. 1 hour the GP got back to us - we had to go back to EPU! Luckily my friend was at the reception by then so we got seen by the Gynae doctor fairly quickly. She said the blood wasn't fresh anymore, got baby up on the scan straight away, so everything is fine. She said it was the placenta bleeding for some reason - and that they are happier when they don't know the reason! Then I had to have an anti-D jab up my bum because I'm rhesus negative & there was foreign blood around! (I said to the doctor "could it affect the baby, then?" she said "oh no, it's to protect future pregancies," and I thought, well there's no chance of that after all of this!)

So after all the adventures I feel relieved. But as DP said, it is hard not to think of this as a very fragile baby! Thanks for all your kind thoughts.

Ohhh fisil you poor thing having all that worry it's awful really hope this problem goes away and never comes back
Isn't it strange how we are all anonymous, faceless nobodies all caring for each other xxxxxx

GP listened to heartbeat for the first time today, I just LOVE that whoooshy noise

fisil · 28/10/2004 14:36

northstar, you're not a faceless, anonymous nobody! But I know what you mean, it's really strange, isn't it? But you guys are really important to me - helping me to get through things!

northstar · 28/10/2004 14:45

thanx fisil. Just while you're here, is it worth starting a new thread yet, this one has gone very long and sometimes it takes me (or my sad old computer) ages to add a message?

Just an idea for now, what do the rest of you think? We could start it with an update and short profile.

fisil · 28/10/2004 14:48

That is a good idea northstar. Do you want to start it off?

northstar · 28/10/2004 14:59

Ok, see you there, and hope everyone follows soon because it will be great to read about you all again now that we're more established.
