OK I know it's VERY early days folks but someone's got to start this thread sometime. Due date between May 4 and May 9. Any other takers?

Re feeding: you were really unlucky Fisil. It doesn't mean that you will have the same problem this time though...I want to add that after 2 months the pain stopped for me and it was actually a wonderful experience.

I have now booked-in but the midwife didn't want to listen for a heartbeat in case she couldn't find it and made me worry. I suppose it is a bit early but I now have to wait 3 weeks for my scan in total uncertainty

Hi ladies.

Feeling rather upset at the moment. After weeks of moaning about my m/s I'm now the total opposite. All symptoms including m/s, sore breasts and tiredness have all disappeared overnight. Now really concerned that something may be wrong. I'm almost 10 weeks pg and I've got my scan in 3 weeks time. Is it to early for the symptoms to have gone and is it normal for them to disappear overnight?

Sorry. Everytime I seem to post on MN I'm complaining about something.

myermay, I'm not sure that you can guarantee who delivers your baby...I went to a hospital in another NHS trust last time so I knew that I had no chance of seeing a familiar face and it honestly didn't matter. I think it probably depends on how busy the hospital is at the time and who is on shift I suppose. In answer to your other question, I did seriously consider a home birth but now I quite fancy a waterbirth so it'll be the hospital for me I expect.

Brighteyes, don't worry about complaining - we've all been doing it I'm sorry but I don't know what the symptoms disappearing means - I would phone the midwife, or if it's too late, NHS Direct? You could also start a thread called "Urgent-midwife advice needed" or something like that...want me to do that for you?

Brighteyes · 14/10/2004 19:33

Spent the last 2 hours being violently sick - YAY!!!

Thanks for the support ladies, think I just need to relax more and stop stressing about everything.

logic · 14/10/2004 20:12

Brighteyes - rotfl that's a sentence that I never thought I'd hear someone say! I'm glad anyway. Sounds like we are having our scans in the same week (mine's 3rd Nov).

fisil · 14/10/2004 20:18

I'm pleased you're so ill brighteyes!

How are we all ladies? I am still feeling down, but the weekend is close, and less than a week til scan day now.

Did I mention my horrible experience yesterday? I was trying to sort out a problem on the stairs at work and ended up getting squahed by a crowd of teenagers who thought it hilarious to push each other down the stairs. It was very very frightening - I was shaking and bawling for ages afterwards. At least I no longer have my little secret from my bosses - I felt I had to explain my reaction!

logic · 14/10/2004 21:14

Oh Fisil, I'm glad that you are ok. That sounded horrible! It's probably better that your work knows anyway. What do you do - if you don't mind me asking?

Brighteyes · 14/10/2004 21:29

Fisil really glad you have told your colleagues in work. The risks being a teacher sound bad enough at the best of times least alone when your pg. Remember no jumping in to break up those fights

Logic my scan is on the 3rd Nov. as well. We can count down together

fisil · 15/10/2004 08:12

I know, I know. The problem was that my way of making sure I didn't tell them was to focus on my job, and I do sometimes focus too much on it and forget that I am actually pg!

logic, I'm a city banker.

OK, an inner city school teacher.

LittleB · 15/10/2004 11:29

Hi all,
I've just been off work with a stomach bug, not much fun when you've got m/s too!
I think I'm due for my scan in the first week of November too hope I get a date soon, I've got my booking in appointment Monday . Do you normally get the chance to hear your baby's heart? It'd be great if I could. I can't wait until we're at the same stage as the 'due in April'thread when we have had our scans and can go public!
Take care at work Fisil. Is anyone else getting realy emotional at times, I was crying at This Morning yesterday !

logic · 15/10/2004 11:35

Hi LittleB - my dh is off work today with a stomach bug and was complaining until I pointed out that I have been feeling like this for 5 weeks
I have to admit that I have already gone public with my pregnancy on the grounds that I can't keep a secret for 2 seconds!

When I booked-in, the midwife refused to look for a heartbeat because it's a bit early. If she couldn't find it, then I would panic! Last time round, I did hear the heartbeat at this stage. It's all down to the midwife I think.

...and I was crying listening to an Anastacia cd this morning...

LittleB · 15/10/2004 12:22

Hi Logic,
Good to know its not just me getting tearful over silly things then, my dp will think I've gone soft! I can understand about panicing if they can't find a heartbeat, but it'd also be great to hear one - half of me still doesn't quite belive I'm really pg.
I have told some people already, close family and those at work on a need to know basis - and sworn to secrecy. I'm hopeless at keeping secrets too, its getting so hard to hide it.

fisil · 15/10/2004 14:29

Work is going to be hilarious for the next week. I told boss on Wed. She is indiscrete, so an hour later I went to the person I knew would be the first person she told, and sure enough she knew already. I repeated to her how I didn't want anyone to know. Now, from the way people are talking to me, I get the feeling that they a) know I'm pg b) know that they are not supposed to know. So I am getting the weirdest conversations and questions!

I can't wait for being able to spill the beans next Thursday!

Last baby was due this weekend. Feeling better than I was at the beginning of the week, but still can't bear the thought that I could be there by now!

Did you hear that Charles Kennedy is expecting in April? I love it when people in the news are expecting at the same time as me!

Brighteyes · 15/10/2004 15:14

Wow fisil you seem to be very calm about the work situation. I would be going absolutely crazy if the person I had confided in had told others without my consent.

logic · 16/10/2004 19:11

LittleB, I kow what you mean about not quite believing you're pregnant. I feel exactly the same. Actually, I'm trying not to get my hopes up just in case

Has anyone seen Cab lately? I know that she went on holiday but that was ages ago...

cab · 18/10/2004 10:43

Hi Logic - just got back yesterday.
Congratulations to everyone who has joined us in the last 2 weeks - it'll take me a while to catch up with all the news.

Am off for a scan this afternoon cos had horrendous cramping all night after getting off the plane. Thank goodness for early pregnancy units.

Hello everyone, are any of you doing any kind of exercise like yoga or swimming while you're pg? I've hardly moved for weeks cos of my awful m/s and just feel like I've got no muscles left in my body - I can hardly even get up the stairs! Now that I'm beginning to feel a bit better, think i should be doing something to make my body a bit stronger and more prepared for carrying a whole lot of extra weight around...
My DH is panicing though and thinks I should just stay in bed til May (sounds quite appealing actually!)
What do you thnk?

cab · 18/10/2004 11:27

Myermay we had a wonderful holiday thanks. We were in Turkey - a Sunsail holiday based at a beach club. We did a bit of dinghy sailing but mainly took yachts out each day to visit local villages and anchorages where we could swim off the boat. Unfortunately we all got food poisoning for a few days, but apart from that it was great.
On the cramping front: I wouldn't worry too much Myermay as some cramping is normal. Usually I would blame constipation and have had such bad cramps in the past that I couldn't walk. But this time was different - excrutiating , very similar to labour contractions, and they went on all night. Hopefully it was connected with the food poisoning because it certainly wasn't constipation this time .

Raggybaggy I would do whatever you normally do or just do some gentle exercises - but not tummy ones.

Brighteyes · 18/10/2004 13:09

Hi Cab, nice to have you back with us, the holiday sounds great (apart from the food poisioning)

Raggybaggy, really admire you wanting to exercise. At the moment the only exercise I'm getting is getting out of bed and getting downstairs to lie on the sofa. M/s is so bad at the moment I can't even keep fluids down Got a doctors appointment tomorrow so he can check that I'm keeping another fluids down not to get dehydrated. At this rate it looks like I'll end up like my sister did on her first pg, in hospital on a drip.

Getting really excited about being a mum now though. Watched some old videocamera films yesterday of my nephews when they were toddlers. Made me go all gooey

Hi Brighteyes - glad to hear you're feeling positive. Chucking up constantly I hope .

The scan went fine this p.m. - shouldn't have worried - one very lively baby now and a bit further on than expected - 12 weeks and 1 day! Cos of the date I'm heading to London sooner than expected (tomorrow night) for cvs and nuchal - so long as I can find an hotel!
